Sainz blocked the road for Albon. Now Albon will block the road for Sainz.
The extra required pitstop hasn't changed the fact that this circuit is totally inappropriate with these cars - you shouldn't be able to deliberately cruise around several seconds off the pace with no worries about being passed.
Just scrap the race or make it non-championship, it's a pointless relic.

Wow 😮....I kinda agree with Brundle, as an F1 fan, this way of racing is.......hmm....I don't even know what the word is!

Head in the sand and spectacular can kicking with regards to the spectacle. Even daring to try this just shows how outdated the track is and how much the game has moved on.

Gutted for Alonso again but it seems that there's an uptick in qualifying pace.

Maybe at some point the FIA will see the issue. Nah, that requires them to learn.

Well we will have it till 2031.

People want it because its "Historic" yet no one defends other "Historic" tracks like Spa or Catalunya wont wont defend them if they were to be replaced.
Catalunya which is being replaced.

Russell & Mercedes showing how stupid this is. Just straight line the chicane, eat a 10 sec penalty and you'll still be much faster than staying on track and following the blocker ahead.

Correct.

If one has to say, you now need to do this and this then this to spice up the race, it means the track is bad.

Stewards don't like being mocked. Drive through penalty.

Lol, George looking to prove a point now. I’m sure Toto will be ready to argue how Williams needs to be talked to, as well.

Still ahead of Albon, even with the drive through he gained an advantage.

Not gonna help him given he still needs 2 stops though

Russell being head of the GPDA should tell the FIA to scrap Monaco because of this holding up cars and inability to overtake.
Pretty sure other drivers will agree.

Can't recall many times where a driver has willingly and openly admitted to preferring a penalty than giving a position back. Just more proof of how ridiculous this track is.

Russell did it during the sprint a few years ago.
Would drive off track and take the 5second penalty because he could easily make up that time, its why they made it 10seconds now.

How is tire age for Russell 53 laps (and Antonelli 57) if neither one have pitted and gone 60 laps?

Max has enough gap, he doesn't have to stop. The 30s penalty will put him in 4th as would stopping. He may as well stay out to the flag and hope for a red flag, or more likely an inchident between Norris and Leclerc.
