Do those red barns at VIR contain pit equipment or hay? What a cozy place, I like it. :)

Grand West is a small journey and that long hilly back straight on the full layout is great. It's also good to finally have a relatively long track where all sectors feel well-suited for low-powered cars.

After racing on that track quite a bit today, I seriously think I would of paid 20 dollars just for it and it's variations. I never really knew much about this track, but it's great in any car class. It almost make some other tracks feel boring, it's that much fun.

This track and 21 Porsches is without doubt great value for the money. I wouldn't say it has altered my perception of other tracks though. I'm just happy I can add another location to my existing favorites. It brings more depth to the variety, thereby benefitting all tracks in the game.

I think all the spring rates are all messed up, they're way too soft on the front. They seem to have really bad understeer and as you say the all pogo up and down at the front.

I hear that... but I wonder, are they like that in their stock suspension form? I know some of them have adjustable suspensions before any upgrades are applied.

I pretty much cured my wheelies with race suspension tuning and adding a front wing.

Oh, I know where you're coming from. I recently bought the game and was quite pleased with the track count, though very few are as exciting as VIR or The Ring for example.

Really wish the game releases more VIR-like tracks. Just a thrill to drive on all the variations.

VIR was a revelation. I've only ever heard it spoken of in reverential terms and I know exactly why now. It's simply brilliant. Along with Laguna, Lime Rock and Watkins, I think the USA has the best selection of tracks now in Forza.

I think there must be some licensing implications there. I believe Honda are funny about Suzuka now? They have Twin Ring Motegi, too. I don't think modern Fuji is very good, so I'd rather not see it in this series.

If we got anywhere in Japan, I'd most want Ebisu. Not for drifting, but the elevation and type of corners would really suit the cars with modest power and less sporting set-ups. I think cars like the '63 Beetle, Subaru Brat and Mark 2 Escort would be tons of fun on that track. It was enjoyable in the Shift series and that drove like crap compared to Forza.

Modern Fuji is a terribly overrated track.

Most of those Japanese tracks are overrated IMO. Tsukuba, I can do without racing on. Same with Twin Ring Motegi, although it's better then Tsukuba. I never was a fan of Fujimi Kaido, I remember having to do that full track a bunch in Forza 3. It's too long and highly annoying. At least in 4 you didn't have to race the entire thing in career, it was just sections at a time.

Suzuka is the exception. I miss that track, it's one of my favorite tracks, and just a great race track. I would rather see Mugello, Maple Valley, and Suzuka in a track pack, than an all Japanese track pack.

Interesting!

Turn 10 have changed the mistery 993 rear wing image to a whaletail!

New image can be found via the Xbox One.

Sorry the image below is just for reference, btw we know that other car is an RSR flying lizard

A couple of things have dawned on me today, about the Porsche expansion...

I've just done the Cayenne Turbo races and buh-loody hellfire, that thing is fast!:cool:

Would you need anything else, on the road?

And no doubt I've noticed this late, but seeing as you can stick a 4.5 V8 in the 911's, doesn't that make them RUF's?

I agree with you, it is such a great track. :)

I dont really miss any of the Japanese tracks. I would much rather Turn10 give us a "Forza Classics" Track pack which has Maple Valley, Sunset Peninsula, New York, Iberian, Ladera...

Turn10 can pay themself a license fee.

:lol::lol: :cheers:

I hear you! It would make my day to see those return in Forza 6, all updated to new-gen standards, perhaps with some additional layouts. If only...

^ It sure does, shame Japan isn't represented în this iteration.....

Not a single track!!!

Pretty. Disappointing. To. Say. The. Least!
It's down to licensing costs; in recent years the price of a track license for a Japanese circuit has skyrocketed. I spoke to somebody from Turn 10 about this a while back and they told me that Tsukuba cost twice as much as Le Mans.

So thats why they had gone local. And the fact that the much well known (for mainstream atleast) european tracks costs much lower than Japanese Tracks is something noteworthy.

Interesting to see Forza being filled with American Tracks while GT with Japanese Tracks. We'll see how it turns out.

PD probably gets a discount being a japanese studio and such a high profile franchise. But honestly maybe it's a blessing in disguise, maybe T10 wouldn't make tracks like VIR and Watkins Glen otherwise, the Glen honestly is hell of a lot more fun than Motegi or Tsukuba imo.

That's absolutely nuts that they want to charge double for a circuit like Tsukuba over what the legendary La Sarthe costs.

Japanese protectionism for its own franchise at its most obvious?

Watkins Glen is the best track to be added to Forza since Camino Viejo in Forza Motorsport 3.

As much as I like Watkins Glen, which I truly do, and I know this is all personal preference. But I have to disagree with your opinion on that one. VIR is by far the better addition, it just offers more in terms of variety, and is a much more fulfilling drive when you get a good lap in. Watkins on the other hand is rather simple compared to VIR.

Still, I do really like Watkins Glen; and it holds a definite second place on the list of top tracks added to the game.

But as I said, it is all personal preference. So even though I disagree with you, you are not wrong where you are concerned.

Here ye hear ye! However, don't know what's stopping them from reintroducing the fantasy tracks. As someone jokingly said, they can pay themselves the licensing fee to roll those out.

Seriously? Camino from FM3 had ridiculous layouts and no other track comes close. I like WG though, but compared to Camino, it falls short. Rather bland, in my rather humble opinion only!

Somewhat on the same boat here - WG has nice layouts and the driving is very challenging but nowhere is it as exciting, scenic and a roller coaster of a ride as VIR. I'd personally endorse VIR if I could, it is that good. 👍

I must be in the minority because I love Tsukuba. Yes it's tight and technical, but it flows and and is very rewarding to drive well.

There are variants of Fuji and Suzuka that we've never gotten in Forza or GT, and that's the original layouts. Fuji was brilliant in the '80s and '90s with it's long flowing corners. But it was even more amazing in the '60s and '70 with its high banked corner that swept around almost 270 degrees. Check out old YouTube videos.

Same with the original layout of Suzuka. The corners were insanely fast. No clumsy chicane before the front straight, you just kept your foot in it and hoped your car had the mechanical traction necessary to get around the corner. Sadly, if you compare the original layout with the current layout, you can see that every single corner has been reprofiled at some time, from the first corner through the Snake corners, the Dunlop curve, Degner, the hairpin, 200R, the Spoon, 130R and the final curve, they've all been changed. All this was done to make the course safer, and I can't argue with that, but this is a video game. Give us the high-speed insanity of the original layout.

I'd prefer Fuji. The classic layouts through today's update. I know this isn't the right thread about tracks but taking my #6 & #8 hakosuka replicas around there would be awesome.

And some people's favourite Porsche in the game ;)
