3 races to complete

Spoilers:

You start off by driving the SRT Viper 2013.

You then drive a Mitsubishi Evo X for off-road race.

Then you do a Mustang vs Mustang race (You race a Retro Mustang Boss in Yellow)

Finally you drive the SRT Viper again for the final race. The Evo X is your run-around car from getting to race...

Also: After completing a race, you can choose wether you would like to challenge your rival, same as Forza 4, where you try to beat the ghost...

I'll have a YouTube video up soon for those that can watch but not play it yet...

I've never fallen in love with a game from the Demo before, I can't wait to drive some more cars, but I felt an overwhelming feeling of ecstasy blasting over the bridge at 170+ mph in the viper with the orange glow from the sunset, FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!1!!1!!1

You can use a Speed Wheel but in Manual you must shift with the right thumb. Left is better. I'm sure I'm the only Speed Wheel person here.
To me Horizon seems like it needs a quarter slot on the Xbox but since I use a Speed Wheel what do I know.

None, you get to use the Viper twice, you're made to buy the Evo (though you can choose the colour) and you race the Mustang v. Mustang race

The physics aren't 100% Forza 4, the cars are certainly easier to drive, but I loved how twitchy the Viper was on the brakes over bumps!

Very jealous and antsy to try this for myself. I don't want to ruin the Mustang race if I can help it. Do you have to enter the races or are you free to roam about and ignore them?

You are free to roam, there is also a nice speed trap aswell on one of the road.

I clocked 120~mph

I've been trying it out for an hour or so..

Fanatec CSR + All assists off..

The handling is poor if you judge it by FM4, but for it's genre, it's not too bad, compared to TDU, it's a quantum leap!
Even the graphics are both very good (smooth, lovely vistas, just enough AA), but also look a bit flat.. especially the interiors. Not as good as FM4, but for an open world game, it's top drawer.

I'd give it 8/10 easily based on what it is (TDU/NFS style game), but as a pure racing game, I'd score it much lower..

Still, loads of fun, can't wait for the full game now!

Yes, we all saw your first post about it being exclusive for people who pay money to use Live, it won't event work with 48hr trials

They have been trying to market it with Forza 4 physics in an open world game but most of us knew it wouldnt be the case. So a couple questions.

1. How is the "freedom"? From my understanding you are restricted to the main roads and offroads besides a few shortcuts.
2. Is the golf course just a shortcut or a true open area to play in?

Impossible to say until the full game, there are only 7 different roads in the demo

For those who would like to see the demo in its entirety...

For those wondering about off roading... LOL

I wouldnt say its impossible, what you see in a demo is 99.9999999% of the full game. Especially since the full game releases in 2 weeks. What you see is what you get and its always been that way with demos.
CRZ
For those who would like to see the demo in its entirety...
Thank you for that. I will check it out on my lunch break today.

I took this picture of my TV just for you, CAMAROBOY69.

That gray band on the left is the gravel road below this short bluff. There are invisible walls, but many places offer room to go into the ditch and beyond.

Also if you ask me so far, it's exactly FM4's engine except you have tires that double as performance street tires and treaded rally tires.

Back into it. :)

Are there dirt specific and road specific tires you choose for your cars? Or are the tires simcade style when it comes to physics?

Not in the demo there isn't, and I don't think there will be in the game. As far as handling, same options as Forza 4, normal/simulation etc...

Thank you. Ok so we can go about 4 feet off the road before hitting an invisible wall or guard rail? Thats pretty much what Dan said in the interview. Not sure why they are advertising full free roam freedom. Pure false advertisement but thats fine.
Good news about the physics. 👍

Wow I love that sound of the tires driving slowly over dirt in that vid when the Lancer is pulling away after the Mustang race! And the tunnel sounds are sweet as well!

Just played the Horizon demo and it was fun, and it is very easy to drive the car. But I found the sound of the car somehow two soft in comparing with the rest of the sound effects and I don`t mean the music, I did turn that off.. But I already know I ‘am going to love this game. Just by playing this short demo..

The invisible walls when you go offroad will be in the full game too. Just think of them as guard rails in case you miss a turn. It prevents you from flying out into the scenery and getting lost. Dan stated that the freedom is actually restricted to main roads and dirt roads only. You cant just go driving out into the landscape to check out the entire map. Dan already confirmed that in a recent interview. The game comes out in 2 weeks. What you see in the demo is what you get.
