Pre ordered LCE :)

As more details of the game are released and media appears the poll percentages could progress in favour of the LCE. It already is impressive the amount of people preferring LCE over the standard.

I think its because most of the people on these forums are really into these games and a bit of an enthusiast compared to the general consumer (most of which don't even know about the LCE) that will purchase the game.

Well, don't know about most other shops, but the two GameStops near me both had more LCE's on preorder for FM3 than regular editions - that's what the employee's said, anyways.

Might be because the LCE isn't that much more expensive but offers quite a bit of value (in my opinion, at least).

Was just about to post this. The price is right on this one. Getting "a lot" for "a little"

I don't doubt that. But don't forget the standard edition isn't limited production. Some people won't feel it necessary to preorder and reserve a copy. A lot of those purchases will be walk-ins.

I guess they are saving on the details....such as...there are no FANS watching the race in Forza 4.

Could just be similar to FM2 where test runs etc didn't have spectators. They just had the occasional camera man.

^True

BTW Luminis, your new avatar threw me for a loop.

I don't doubt that, but I wouldn't be suprised if the FM3/4 LCE takes up a bigger chunk of the sales than the Limited Editions of other games.

It's to be expected if there's a dead mouse on your screen all of a sudden, right? ;)

I have also preordered LCE F4, just because i like that booklet. I also got LCE F3, and that USB alone was worth it, it's the most fastest USB in my collection. Since i am not buying that many games, i like to treat myself with LCE, actually i buy only racing games :-).

Same here; i dont buy too many games so the LCE is nice.. But also; i want to stimulate T10 to continue the great job they're doing; so i buy the LCE..

A comparative with FM3 👍

Those lights on the side don't look lit up...the cars are either not in the top 3 or the game doesn't include it :(

EDIT: WAIT! Anyone else notice the top light of the BMW in FM4 looks to be lit up?

I don't see much improvement in ingame models from F3 to F4, at least in these photos, but the lightening makes it more realistic, true to life, and I am really happy. Everything looks crispier, clearer :-).

Holy crap, now that is an impressive difference between the two. I am glad they put that much effort into it.

Im sorry but am I missing something. top light?? lit up??

The position lights behind the door, look at them on the FM4 screenie of the M3.

I doubt they'll actually work. It's not something to fault T10 for, though. Nearly every single developer has overlooked the position lights.

The three running lights up the side behind the door are used to indicate position within the class in endurance racing. The top light lit- in first place, 2- in second, all 3- in third.

edit- beaten.

Ahh. Thanks. I guess I dont really watch enough of the ALMS. I got to start watching more. I always forget when its on since its not advertised much.

Yep, and depending on class the lights are colored differently. Don't remember what but I remember seeing green, red, blue and forget what other color. You notice it a lot more in the night races. I was at 2007 Le Mans 24 and it was really helpful at night to see if 2nd overtook 1st in some classes.

I know what you mean. I used to have a hard time watching races and usually dealt with some stream or highlights after the races. Sometimes I got on the radio lemans show but eventually SPEED and ESPN I believe started holding more race events. Now with ESPN3 and the ESPN 360 app, you can catch the qualifiers, practice and race sessions. It's how I was catching up on mid ohio, which I'm still not done watching :P

The models (for most of the cars at least) are totally fine in Fm3, it's the spine-less rendering engine that badly needed to be upgraded from it's xbox origins.

BMW looks better, but if you told me the LMP pictures were from FM3, I'd have believed it.

Looks like they added more detail to certain parts, but it very well could be the same model used before.

For example the XM Acura, only difference is it's more shiny.

I think Dan Greenwalt said at E3 that every model was redone for the new game. Not sure exactly what that means but to me the game looks better than FM3. It's nice to have that visual upgrade but I hope they didn't mostly focus on the visuals

I hope that is the case as well. People can defend it all they want but it doesn't look a whole lot different.

Let's hope the focus on fixing the career so it's not like the FM1-FM2-FM3 expansion pack feeling as the last three, and bringing back FM2-style online with improvements.

If they improved the lighting (and they did), that's quite a big step forward, in my opinion. That was FM3's bottleneck, if you're asking me. The image based lighting looks way better than what they had before... To me, at least.

Physics wise, the new tyre model alone could make quite some difference as well, if it improves the grip levels. T10 could just do what PD did, though: "Fix'em yourself physics". Jusst offer enough tyre compounds. If the game is too grippy, you could just tell everyone to put the Walmart tyres on your 458 to make the game more realistic.

More realistic or just harder to control? :p

Actually the visuals, even if from photo modes, already look much improved. And I must be of the few that thought the career in Forza has been good. FM3 for me I liked better than the previous versions. If they expand on that it'll be real cool
