Ive heard that when you drive your car alot you can get hp, to test that theory i went too stage 7 route and did 14 laps in my stj. I got from 503hp to 518hp. But i tried it again it wont work anymore, why ?

Because engine break-in only gives you a net gain of 3% of your original horsepower. 3% of 503 is 15.09; 503 + 15 = 518.

Your car is fully broken in. That's why it's not gaining HP.

Wait what if i buy a brand new car and put like. Intake , and then do alot of miles on it . Then put another thing do the same etc

You're breaking in the engine, not the parts equipped to the engine.

You told me in a PM that it's an Impreza WRX STI. 518 horsepower is a lot of power for a 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine.

On the forum Subaru WRX STI ive seen people do over 600 hp how is that possible then ?
I know that theirs a certain engine break , but ive seen alot faster cars like a prelude with 780 hp, how ?

What..?

My prelude with full tuning (though not broken in) only has 366 BHP.

So I can only imagine you're referencing real life, which has no place here.

I've seen cars with upwards of 1000 BHP, doesn't mean I can take that same car in GT5 and make it so.
Cars like that often have particular and custom parts to allow for such performance. (also 780 on a FWD? Screw getting into that thing!)

As has been said, once a cars engine breaks in, that's it. It isn't going to magically keep climbing and after a certain point you'll begin LOSING power.

As for the WRX, well my WRX STI RM only has 527 BHP (fully tuned)
Even the newer and much heavier WRX STi '07 once fully tuned peaks at 404 (not broken in)
So, once again, I can only imagine you're referencing real life again. And we've already discussed that.

After 187.3 miles your car gets a net gain of 3% in horsepower. This is really important on some cars like the X1. That car gains about 40 horsepower on break in. Some cars, like the Fiat 500, gain a negligable 0.n horsepower.
