Yeah compared to those two GT7 is like 2 generations ahead in every respect
GT7 looks great, the sounds are pretty good, the physics are good enough to have fun, as bad as the AI IMO is… I’d still like to have AI in online lobbies, even just the standard AI upon release.

If PD would pay close attention to peoples wish lists and actually implement them, I think all of the hardcore sim racers would realize it ain’t so bad.

I have my issues with it but it’s more just missing features and a few things regarding physics. Overall the driving is for the most part fun.

You are right it’s hard to criticize the game see what PMR has run into. But that doesn’t mean GT7 couldn’t be even better.

I agree that it can be better, maybe this power pack will spice things up with better AI and overall racing structure, we'll see

Well, as it sits I don’t think I’ll buy the dlc unless Sophy 3.0 in custom races is an absolute game changer, but I’m not getting my hopes up because Sophy was built up more than it should have been. Time will tell.

I will however buy it if Sophy 3.0 can populate online lobbies or any AI for that matter. The rest of the new races, doesn’t sound like it appeals to me. I don’t even do the weeklies anymore.

I'm happy to see that they will add the Ferrari 296 GT3 with this Power Pack, it is a phenomenal car! Hopefully they will take this opportunity to add more updated GT3 cars like the BMW M4 GT3. Time will tell...

Also looking forward to the endurance races, finally they are back.

The Power Pack does not include the 296. The 296 comes free with the Spec III update.

Since the events use Sophy 3.0 I just hope we can choose the difficulty as Sophy can get very hard at times if on max difficulty in similar cars.

I mentioned in the gtp YouTube video it’ll be interesting if there are double file rolling starts if SOPHY still doesn’t grid start.

The Reggie AI, sure, but only PS5s would be able to partake in Sophy-populated lobbies and I doubt PD would want to create such confusion.

That said, they could simply add an option to filter Sophy lobbies out of the regular list for the benefit of PS4 users.

To include Sophy in most of the events, the events themselves would need to be completely redisgned. I don't think anyone is making up 30 seconds on the lead car if they're running Sophy AI. So a simple AI switch just wouldn't work, which makes it going game wide, less likely IMO.
Sophy 3.0 in all races would work wonderful IF we the players could change all the rules/parameters like tire choice, tire wear, PP limit, HP limit, weight limit, & starting place, or standing start etc. I would pay the same price as the paid DLC in December to get that feature in GT7!

Quite strange that the price hasn't been announced yet.
I mentioned up-thread that it's less likely to be announced during Black Friday sales when the game is discounted, as it looks more expensive next to a discounted game.

Personally I only expect the price to be revealed day-of, like the MTX prices were.

If the events are fun, who cares if they only pay the first time?
I only lack 300-400 million credits to buy all the cars and fully upgrade the ones I have that I use most frequently for the weeklies or grinding. I only got gold on very few percent of the circuit experience and missions in GT7. This credits issue was never a problem in GT3-GT4-GT5-GT6. I don't remember how many 10's or 100's of hours I raced yet, but I shall update this post after playing the weeklies when it is updated in a few hours.

Edit: I have 75 hours on the least used user account and 120 hours on the most used user account. While also obviously I could have had just one account & then would have more than 400 million credits, I think. But less fun overall.

So I was comparing the two images of the UI we have so far from the Power pack, and noticed the one shown into the trailer is actually all work in progress with many Porsches as placeholders. It shows 47 events and 12 gift for the trailer interface, 50 events and 16 gifts for the final version.

One of these extra rewards was added after the two Toyota Corolla / Levin races.

Also, the events marked with a checkered flag intrigued me; logically they are the next available races.

The GT500 events looks weird... What are they ? One championship (the NSX one) and three single races (endurances) ? Or is the championship divided into 4 individual events that counts as 4 of the 50 announced new races ? That would be a huge let down. Hopefully not, as this one is most likely from an older build.

Stars are collected depending on the number of cars you finished the race in front of. At least that's what I understand from the tooltip of the Honda Civic race (finished 2nd out of 16, rewarded with 15 stars). I haven't done the maths, but there might be a way to guess the average number of opponents on track based on the number of stars owned and the best results displayed.

The old UI made of merged screenshots from the trailer :

what do you mean with this?

How do you think it will all be structured? Do you think we'll have just one endurance race or more?

I don't know; I raise more questions than I answer. We all know the same thing, which is to say pretty much nothing.

The structure looks self explanatory to me me. You don't need to win an event to be able to enter the next one, you just to have to finish it whatever your result was.

This is a pretty huge criticism. Could you elaborate?
It's not realistic enough, and it is not customize-able. Some or much of the license tests, missions and circuit experience might be closer, but in single player mode it is not good enough, probably mainly because of too little grip compared to reality when all nominal parameters from the game are same as irl.

This is just for me, but I don't want to see any more of the DLC, I'll keep the rest as a surprise. With 50 events and Sophy 3.0, they've already sold it to me.

You mean exactly what custom races are?

Leo Fender did not play guitar or bass. But he still designed and built musical instruments and amplifiers which are still being manufactured and are incredibly popular today.

I don't think that Kaz himself needs to be playing other racing games in order to ensure that GT continues to improve and be successful.
Kaz shouldn't be playing other games than Gran Turismo 3 & Gran Turismo 4, it seems he forgot how good they were, player starts only 5 seconds behind the first AI car, lots of options in almost all events in both games...!!!

Since I can no longer manage my own impatience and the date is beyond an arbitrary point at which I expected to know how much next weeks DLC will cost, I have decided that this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE and obviously the best course of action is to have a mild tantrum on the internet about it. Ahem.

I mean, come on Kaz! Stop playing games (literally)! I just want to know what the price is! I know I won't have to wait long, thats not the point, it's the principle! I WANT TO KNOW NOOOOOW.

Cheers. That was slightly cathartic.

Since the retail price of GT7 now is around €30, the price for the power pack DLC should not be more than 50% of the current price of the new game. Which means around €15-20.
After checking Amazon US it seems GT7 sells for closer to $40-50, which could mean $20-25 if Sony charges 50% of a new copy of GT7, which ofc is pure speculation, but most people who owns GT7 & consider buying the power pack would think the current GT7 price is a relevance to how much the power pack should cost.

It's on sale because it's Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

Should return to normal price on Tuesday.

The player starts five seconds being the lead car in GT3/4 because there were only five other cars on the track…

As much as we love those games, let’s be honest that’s beyond outdated game design too. And the AI in GT3 and 4 I wouldn’t call extremely difficult either.

A full grid of Sophy with qualifying that’s coming in the campaign next week is the way forward IMO. They’re going in the right direction here.

Don't know if I would consider that peak game design.

GT3 maybe is an example of a "good" AI, but GT4 i don't think so.

Sophy into lobbies is the way forward, into custom races too. Even if we could create a custom race with Sophy but invite a friend to race that custom race with us.

Another way forward is equalizing race payouts.

Depends on the price, I was skeptical of the dlc and still am, if a few things show up unannounced and it’s cheap enough I’ll probably grab it since PMR has 💩 the bed.
