Well I'm going all in despite what I have posted days ago, I'll get powerpacked and jump aboard that sailing ship because this
i1m4JcJqRZy0w7E.webp

is worth the price of admission to me....

I must say PDI is very good at pissing people off. 30€ will piss off quite few people and when the sales of this dlc tank they will put the DLC on sale and piss off people who paid the full price. They just can not win anymore. 19,90€ or even 24,90€ would have been acceptable, but no, they decided to try greed instead.
PD neither sets the prices nor receives the income.

day before is standard for update details
On point.

Seeing what the Power Pack includes I think 30€ is an ok price. It’s not the highly repayable content some of us have hoped for but that’s ok. It really looks like it’s Missions 2.0.

I called the price from the beginning. $20 of content like most DLCs and "$10" of worthless credits so some exec can get a new yacht with his Christmas bonus. Oh well, I guess inflation affects everyone in its own way. Now time for me to start looking at used PS5s...

The prices are set by Sony and not PD. TBH even though I don't plan on getting it right away I don't think the DLC will tank. It will eventually go on sale and why get pissed off if you bought when it 1st came out and you got your money's worth?

Considering how many cars are out there, and how many demographics GT caters to, I consider an update to be a success when one out of four cars interests me. Sure, I'd love it if all four cars were ones that I personally want, but the odds of that happening are pretty bad.
I’d have to go back and see how many over the span of GT7 interested me. Not that it matters all that much. If they did all muscle cars people would complain too.

I’m getting a kick out of all the food vs dlc cost comparisons. Why not 10x that and add up what you ate for the month, may as well buy a PS5!

I would’ve asked if you were interested in my launch day system, but there is an ocean between us.

Anyone in the UK after a decent deal, message me and save me a trip to CEX.

Three questions:

1) How many races do you think will last 24 hours? Will there really be one?
2) but do all 50 races have free practice, qualifying and races?
3) Do you think we can see this structure in a future GT8 career?

I can't wait to hear your answers!

...and the dieting would improve your health and your looks too. Yeah, great idea, go for it PS4 people!

I don't feel like the gif is warranted. It's not an unreasonable expectation that we would've been able to use our own collection, within the pre-defined specs of each event, one-make races notwithstanding.
I think the pre-selection is what makes it more interesting.

1) assume 3 - Nurburgring, LeMans and Daytona (maybe Spa?)
2) assume yes as per the trailer
3) who knows!

30 bucks is really stretching the line between buy or no buy... However, that is a lot of racing to do, with Sophy.

Man, people really don't think, eh? The 24 Hours of Le Mans requires that you buy some of the most expensive cars in the game. Imagine you just spent $30USD only to find out that you NOW have to go grind to earn enough credits, to go buy the car that you need to use to play the game, that you just paid money for.

People gripe about the most ridiculous things without thinking even momentarily about their gripe.

More interesting than having your collection at your disposal? I don't see how.

I would not have minded something like the pre-selection as it is now, plus an option to take any car from your garage (within a class and PP limit) at, say 80% of payout. Best of both worlds.

I could think of many other ways of doing single player races championship career type stuff in GT8 than what this dlc is. Missions were my least favourite and the ones I HAVE to drive a specific car. Especially a car I don’t care for and I’ve gotta spend money on it to tune it just right to win the race.

The more I think about it, besides collecting all the cars in GT7, missions and licenses, I had completed the championships and single player stuff fairly quickly. This feels like three years later we’re getting some more content. Maybe Gran Turismo has too much variety?

Counting single player content. Championships, cafe stuff, weeklies, missions, circuit experience, licenses, time trials. It doesn’t really have a career mode or anything like that it’s always been IDK here’s some stuff to race, see you in the next one.

The championships were my favourite but I tried them again and it just felt like well I did this already. And I think you have to sit down and complete the championship in one shot don’t you? So if it’s three races you HAVE to finish all three. I’d rather a long championship where I can save and come back to and continue to progress through it.

1) Between 2 and 4 If I had to guess. We just know they are more than one because they use plural.
2) Yes, I think it's pretty well explained.
3) If the Power Pack DLC sells poorly, that could be a possibility indeed. If it sells well, no, they would be wise to put that in a new DLC again for GT8.

My weight is fine, my health is fine, I own a PS5. I can buy the DLC… I just don’t want to.

Going to let people check this one out first and see what the feedback is like, price is a little high but I could deal with it. Not too sure about not being able to use my huge garage of cars though, I like the idea of cars that they've tuned/modified for the event but I have such a huge amount of cars I'd want to use I don't really understand why they can't have a PP target and if you're under that you get a bonus like GT Sport. The real deal breaker would be if you can't change the setup on the cars it gives you because that will just be a massive debuff for controller players. The new modified cars you can get look interesting at least.

These possibilities are not mutually exclusive.

They could very well have allowed us to use one of the 3 loaner cars AND allowed the player to choose one car from its collection.

Defining spec limits for an event does not automatically translate to "the car they tell you to use". That isn't how the majority of events work in GT7, or throughout the history of Gran Turismo. That is closer to a mission than a regular event. It's far from an unreasonable objection.

You might want to look at the tone of your posts, because the bolded bits really are unnecessarily aggressive.

More importantly however, is the fact that it's not using your own garage. For me, that's a massive letdown. Having a couple of cars to choose from with modifiers to the prize money does give it some much needed replayability, so it could've been worse, but it could've been so much better.

It could've breathed new life into a collection of cars that still feels heavily under-utilized throughout the entire game. There's prize money involved, and we can even win exclusive cars, but for what? So we can use that prize money to buy cars that we then can't use in these proper race weekends anyway? It feels like such a missed opportunity.
Yeah I kinda clocked this back when they were talking about creating their own "classes" the way they've done Special Events like the JGTC championship; there was simply no easy way for them to create restrictions that would allow you use of your own garage cars :indiff:

Looks like the 24 hour races are limited to GR 1 and 3 cars....

50 events over 20 categories including 24-hour races

Travel the world of racing, participating in One-Make series to full scale race days featuring Gr.1 and Gr.3 cars in 24-hour endurance challenges and unique races.

I also suspect it has a lot to do with Sophy 3.0. Start letting people bring in their tweaked glitched out tunes and Sophy freaks out. Honestly it’s a little more liked orchestrated races rather than hey we sorted out our AI and it simply adapts to your skill level. It’s Sophy 3.0 but in a well controlled environment.

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand all these "good price" comments.

For €30, you only get extra races on existing tracks, with cars you already own, and you can't even tune them for the races, apparently not even customize them, similar to split-screen mode.

Yes, you get six cars, but you already own them or can buy them. They just look slightly different.

It's not worth the money. I'd rather wait until the DLC is on sale.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. GT7 is available for €45 on Amazon, without any discounts. The DLC costs €30.
You're paying 66.6% of the current full price for GT7 for the DLC and only getting about 20%, or less, of the content.
I'm not especially hyped for the DLC, primarily because it comes a little too late for me. After 1500 hours, I've mostly moved on from GT7, and I'm playing other things right now.

That said, I think you have misunderstood what the DLC is really about. It's not about the cars or the tracks or the events. It's about Sophy 3.0. That's what people are paying for. Is it worth the price? Well, that depends how good it is, I suppose. It may be an incredible and therefore endlessly replayable experience, after all.

I can’t tell if the cars in the LM shot are group C or not
