More interesting than having your collection at your disposal? I don't see how.

I would not have minded something like the pre-selection as it is now, plus an option to take any car from your garage (within a class and PP limit) at, say 80% of payout. Best of both worlds.
This is a question mark for me,being forced to use set cars is not something i would like.Im going to wait for a while to see what the general opinion is,maybe watch a few vids to see what its all about before i buy.
The livery/bodykit prize cars are a take it or leave it thing for me.Time will tell. 👍

It's my entirely independent opinion that this is absolutely a test-bed for a game career structure for GT8 (PD being aware that the Cafe wasn't entirely well received) and its popularity, or lack thereof, will inform that game's direction.
If that is the case, then they are tipping the scales to the result they have already gone down from the start of GT7. If you want to see how much people want, and would use, better offline aspects of the game design, put that aspect of the game out for free and see how many use it. They have now made GT games connected games (which should not be needed for those that play mainly offline :banghead: ) and a side effect of that is that the can gather data about what everyone does in the game, if they wish to get that data, and you would assume they are collecting a lot of data.

After seeing how GT Sport was kneecapped without an online connection, and how much user generated content disappears once they remove support, and users remove their content, decals, designs etc, has made me less inclined to play and create too much in GT7, and added to that the poor offline aspect has made me play less GT7 than GT Sport, and in no way that should have been the case.

This DLC was aimed to some degree for players like me, offline players, but no way would I pay for content that I believe should have been part of the initial game, and no way £25! Like I said, stack the deck for the result you want, no way are 100% of people getting this DLC, so that may skew their results. Stick it in a free update and see how many people use the new features, then you get a more accurate result. Just be aware that a lot of offline players may have already moved on.

I've been out of the loop so this is the first time I'm hearing about the Power Pack.

On the face of it, the new game mode in Power Pack seems cool. Full race weekends, endurance formats...that's the kind of stuff I've been begging for. Would like more customization rather than canned events, but I guess it's a good start.

But it's hilarious that they're offering such a "true racing experience" when, aside from finally adding an updated Ferrari GT3 car, the racing classes are horribly outdated. Why this mode all of a sudden when their commitment to racing - both in terms of adding up-to-date racing cars and in improving Sport mode - has been close to nonexistent the past couple years? I guess they mainly only care about racing heritage cars at this point, which I have little interest in.

We know there's at least a couple of 24 hr races, but what about the rest of the fifty? They're all longer than the 2, 3, 5-lap stuff we get in World Circuits, right? Do we know yet?

If there are cruddy short races, please let it be fewer than eight, ten at most, they better be giving us some meaty races here...

Practice, then qualifying for a 3-lap race would be crazy, right?

I think this is the best surprise for GT7 yet. For me, as an ageing 'family guy' who sneaks his GT7 time after the family have gone to bed this will keep me in new content for the next couple of years 😂
PLUS this Christmas I'm spoiling myself with a PS5 and VR2!!
Power Pack for £25?
Brilliant thank you Kaz - I'm all in 👍👍👍
This! 100%

More interesting than having your collection at your disposal? I don't see how.
Because it pushes you to use some specific cars you maybe wouldn't have used otherwise that will make the challenge more interesting.

Sure the option to use your cars also could have been nice, but I am fine with their choice here.

We definitely don't know all of them, and it'll probably be a while until we do if they're obscured until unlocked.

However, some that are shown in the various screenshots and videos include:
*Bump Drafting - Daytona Tri-Oval - 15 laps
*Civic Race '90s - Tokyo Expressway South Clockwise - 5 laps
*Civic Race '90s - Tokyo Expressway Central Clockwise - 3 laps
*Unknown (Gr.1/Gr.C?) - Daytona Road Course - 10 laps
*Unknown (Modern Sports) - Nurburgring Nordschleife - 1 lap
*Unknown (Classic Rally) - Sardegna Windmills - 6 laps
*Unknown (VW Beetle Rally) - Sardegna Windmills Reverse - 3 laps

We're all going to be "star" collectors,lol...

Receive special cars available in the Power Pack

Completing a race earns you Stars according to your finishing position. Collecting these Stars enables you to purchase various bonuses, including six unique cars specifically tuned by Gran Turismo. The more stars you earn, the more cars you can add to your collection.

I assume that GR.1 race with the Group C cars at Daytona is part of the "Group C Memories" theme alongside Le Mans.

Sophy 2.1 has considerably better fuel and tire usage compared to DualSense peasants like me but Sophy 2.1 also slows down considerably when the tires start wearing down beyond the half-mark. This leads to inconsistent performance and inconsistent pit strategy between Sophy and I. And this screenshot below makes me question whether PD has managed to solve this problem in Sophy 3.0 (this screenshot feels like there is fuel and tire usage but no pitting in this race).

All other screenshots show no fuel or tire usage at all. Pretty concerning to me since I love strategy battles in endurance races and the default AI remains better compared to Sophy 2.1 whenever I do custom endurance races. No hint of rain in the trailer also is making me lose hope that we will get rain-ready Sophy. Fingers crossed for tomorrow nonetheless.

Guess what folks? I've now made the decision to not buy the DLC on Thursday. I will enjoy Spec III and see what you guys all have to report about the DLC.
I think I will join you, I have just got a wheel/pedals and I am having to learn the game all over again, so until I get better it may not be worth me getting it straight away.

The last five look like there going to be fun, hope there's pit stops involved. 🏁

World Circuits

The following new events have been added to World Circuits:

  • European Sunday Cup 400: Goodwood Motor Circuit
  • Japanese FF Challenge: Blue Moon Bay Speedway – Infield A
  • Nissan GT-R Cup: Circuit Gilles – Villeneuve
  • Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Yas Marina Circuit
  • World Touring Car 800: Yas Marina Circuit
  • Super Formula: Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
  • Gr.1 Prototype Series: Yas Marina Circuit

GT has never really been about simulating up to date racing classes or seasons though. And it’s pretty much impossible to do that while also focusing on a diverse variety of road cars and niche car culture areas. For every GT game it’s always been more about having a handful of race cars from each category to introduce and give players a feel for and be able to run decent races in that category, but not really any deeper.

For complete grids you really need to buy the official game of said series or go for something like Assetto Corsa with modding so you can get closer to an actual race that happened. I think it’s a bit of a fool’s errand expecting GT to go fully in that direction at any point.

"Nürburgring Tourist"

If that is what I hope it is, I may have to rethink my decision to not buy the DLC tomorrow😄

edit: I'm also pretty sure Sophy 3.0 will be able to drive on the wet. With those "close to real life" advertising it would be strange if not a single one of those races/events would have rain.

GT Sport was exactly that though. At launch it had a nice array of modern racing cars in several classes, and during its lifespan added the Gr.2 class with modern cars being raced at the time. I'm not asking for anything that PD didn't already do.

Ehhh maybe if there were three more to go with it. But that includes all the other content you get.

That’s actually the part I dislike about Gean Turismo. Driving the 💩 boxes to get to the cars I want. I’ve never found too much enjoyment in that.

Thank you. Pretty much on a par with the World Circuit races then, so far. Was hoping for a bit more meat, but not bad anyway if the Sophy is good. She's got a lot riding on her...

GT Sport was GT Sport. This is a mainline title, and so it will add cars that suit a mainline title.

What do you think? If I buy DLC on my account, will Father be able to download it and access the content on his? It works with games/Subscriptions, but some DLCs have issues and aren't shared.

Pretty sure he'll get it. If on same console.

But who is this capitalized Father person of which you speak (your father, a priest, God?)

1 - The custom race folks will tell you that balancing the field is CRITICAL to the experience. The car you use must be balanced against the others or you won't appreciate the event.

2 - As I already pointed out, some of these events require very expensive cars and it's unreasonable to expect people who just paid for the extra content to go off and grind for the cars needed for that content.
Im going to wait for a while to see what the general opinion is, maybe watch a few vids to see what its all about before i buy.

They're new cars, 6 new cars. These are cars that you cannot obtain or create in the game.

General comment about this thread (and to a certain extent the spec 3). The value here is absurd. I've already pointed out a few times that this is the cost of pizza and drinks, and I'm sure many of the people in these threads won't even think twice about that. They might even be chewing on said pizza while posting about how outrageous the DLC price is.

It's 50 events, some of them endurance events that will take YOU about a month to complete if you choose to do it yourself. BUT, you don't have to, because it includes a new AI agent (B-spec). There's more than enough in this DLC to keep people occupied for months.

Am I the only one curious to know if the Power Pack events already had Yas Marina and Montreal available?
Without Spec III, the Power Pack cannot exist...

What is your question again ?

Of all the people prevaricating here, you are the one who's 100% gonna end up buying this DLC. And PMR. Bookmark this. 🤣

What you're overlooking is that there's good and bad in amost everything. It might be a good party to some people, or a not-so-good party to others, and the people at the party can all give their opinions. But at least they're all at the party, having a lot of fun, or just a bit.
But think now about the people standing outside at the window, in the rain, looking in and hoping, wishing for it to be a bad party because they're not part of it, on the phone telling their mates it's a bad party and sneering at all the people inside for being there having, or just trying to have, a good time.
I have genuine pity for anyone without the money to buy the DLC, or a PS5, or whatever (even PMR), but for anyone who can afford it/them (and that's most people, probably you) it's better for them to join the fun than come across as some kind of disgruntled voyeur wishing for things to fail because they're not part of it.
Just get the DLC. And PMR. You know you want to, and you know you're going to too. Nobody's making more posts about them than you.
Sorry, I didn’t fully read this before. More of what I think I’ll see is peering in the window seeing a bunch of the people complaining the party isn’t what they hoped. The person who invited them built it up into something it’s not.

You can try to entice me all you want to buy either of them, but your FOMO tactics aren’t very convincing. It sounds a lot more like YOU want me to buy it. I’ve made up my decision. I’ve seen enough and now especially with the DLC info released and the high price, I now know, it’s a big no thank you.

I’ve mentioned it before how developers always use teasers instead of straight up saying this is what it’s all about, they’re trying to let consumers fill in the blanks of what might be in the game or DLC and if the price is cheap enough you just buy it. At $40 I’m treading carefully and I was careful with my $130 for PMR, thankfully so.

Had this DLC announced a price of $10-$15 I may have been inclined to just buy it before it even came out. I did make that mistake with preordering GT7. I can’t remember what was all in it but I remember just briefly hearing or reading something about a 917. I figured ehhh I’m going to buy it anyway. Probably could have saved some bucks there.

kjb
The prices are set by Sony and not PD. TBH even though I don't plan on getting it right away I don't think the DLC will tank. It will eventually go on sale and why get pissed off if you bought when it 1st came out and you got your money's worth?
Just like any digital content. Anyone who buys a game on release day or even the pre-order versions knows what they're getting into. But FOMO gets the best of a lot us of and we can't be mad when we see the same content 70% off or even free a couple of years down the road.

Here we go...37 rewards to collect( 6 cars and 31 unknowns)....this is going to take a while(woot woot)....i see many stars in everyone's future...i think this is going to be a blast!!
Edit:..Just noticed 6 different colors,...so im guessing, complete each color will get you a car.....i'm getting the feeling this is going to be a hard challenge!

I think they're asking if Yas Marina and Montreal will be featured as part of the selection of Power Pack events, because the trailer doesn't feature either track (but it doesn't feature a lot of tracks, to be fair).
