Super late to the party on this one, but I finally picked up a Kangoo. The thing that immediately jumped out when driving it is that the gearbox seems to partially simulate a real planetary automatic. It still holds every gear to redline no matter what load is on the engine, so that's not realistic, but the way the revs drop off at shifts is not like the typical "DCT" automatics with every other automatic transmission in GT7. Seems to behave like the SL55 automatic in GT5. It's surprisingly fun to drive.
Have you ever driven a real kangoo or cheap Renault/Peugeot auto? They are not 8 speed ZF boxes…

That's why I like basing my shifting method based on what the car has in game. When I drove the Kangoo, it definitely felt like a slushbox automatic

Reminded me of good ol' Enthusia Professional Racing.

Same! I immediately switched over to automatic. It's a shame this is a global switch and not a per-car setting - I get it, but I wish you could toggle that behavior. I also wish PD would make the Mercedes SLR gearbox behave more like the slushbox it is in real life.
