I'm fine with the cars but the rest of the update is quite uninspired. The events are Gr.1 Proto events where the hypercars are inherently outclasssed & they've done nothing to address the fact that they're also outclassed in Gr.1 BoP - it just falls a bit flat.
Think the biggest miss is the lack of Sophy implementation for the hypercars. Regular AI just can't handle multiclass at all, which is half of the reason I'd want to use these.
Pretty much this. Even though I set the bar pretty low for the extras in this update, they still managed to fall short.
The level of commitment and imagination they put into the new races is quite embarrassing. 7 laps at Le Mans alongside Group C and VGTs cars, really ? Even the infamous AMR-One could handle this
(if they push each other). Another 15 laps race at Sardegna on the same layout for a payout 3 times lower than the WTC 800 one ? Monza still exists, or am I missing something ???
The new Pikes Peak scapes, the reverse circuit experience, and the truck race combo sounds like a silly middle finger.
And there is indeed the fact that Sophy cannot drive the new hypercars. Which means that as a solo player only, my experience from this update is already done.
We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view.
I'm not sure these 4 years spend to wait for this were worth it, Sir...
Hypercars in themselves are a really great addition, that's for sure. But damn ! Do something from what you have ! Brainstorm it for more than five minutes !
Polyphony Digital should trade their Game Developer status for a Scanning company, and start outsourcing the game design. They are just so off..
Well, I guess I'm now going to enter a new waiting period in which I'll turn on the game once a month to see if Sophy has learned to drive.
