It would be fair to say that this is my favourite car update in the game's history...

...and timing it for today was an absolute masterstroke.

cheers GIF

My 6* ticket for the Hybrid Prototypes menu book game me 1M Cr., and I got another 1M for getting a silver in the latest online Time Trial, which bumped my savings up to 13M - which just so happens to be enough to buy all 5 new cars today

3 million is way too much for any actually useable race car in the game. It just limits the playerbase of the whole class. Should be 1-1.5M. I guess PD tries to sell microtransactions still in 2026 after a decade of failing in it miserably. Or they should atleast sell these in bundles - few euros for "Gr1 Hypercar pack" would be fine, but 30€ per car in in-game credits is insanity.

Edit. Ok you get ALMOST two cars with 30€ 5Mcr. Bundle, but still - its nuts.I guess they only aim the microtransactions to whales.
There is NOTHING stopping you from earning that 30 million in game you know. I was hitting the Le Mans rain and penalty race pretty hard before this update with a different car each time. It was fun and no hardship to do.

Whinge incoming.

While I'm fond of collecting 6🌟 tickets, the ROI for,

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.70: New Seasonal Menu

Unusually, this one will ask you to collect four cars rather than just three, with the four being all of the new hypercars. This is again time-limited, so you’ve got slightly under three weeks to collect all them with another Six-Star Roulette ticket for completion.

is to damn high. 12mil? Really? Good grief.

I wasn’t expecting every new car to be 3mil so I ended up only saving up 10 million… So I have to grind when I’m off work… :indiff:
Don't feel bad I wasn't expecting it either I had 14 million so I just able to get one of everything

I'm fine with the cars but the rest of the update is quite uninspired. The events are Gr.1 Proto events where the hypercars are inherently outclasssed & they've done nothing to address the fact that they're also outclassed in Gr.1 BoP - it just falls a bit flat.
Think the biggest miss is the lack of Sophy implementation for the hypercars. Regular AI just can't handle multiclass at all, which is half of the reason I'd want to use these.
Pretty much this. Even though I set the bar pretty low for the extras in this update, they still managed to fall short.

The level of commitment and imagination they put into the new races is quite embarrassing. 7 laps at Le Mans alongside Group C and VGTs cars, really ? Even the infamous AMR-One could handle this (if they push each other). Another 15 laps race at Sardegna on the same layout for a payout 3 times lower than the WTC 800 one ? Monza still exists, or am I missing something ???
The new Pikes Peak scapes, the reverse circuit experience, and the truck race combo sounds like a silly middle finger.
And there is indeed the fact that Sophy cannot drive the new hypercars. Which means that as a solo player only, my experience from this update is already done.

We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view.
I'm not sure these 4 years spend to wait for this were worth it, Sir...

Hypercars in themselves are a really great addition, that's for sure. But damn ! Do something from what you have ! Brainstorm it for more than five minutes !
Polyphony Digital should trade their Game Developer status for a Scanning company, and start outsourcing the game design. They are just so off..

Well, I guess I'm now going to enter a new waiting period in which I'll turn on the game once a month to see if Sophy has learned to drive.

It's actually quite impressive to me that they've added cars of this calibre and yet given them nowhere to be feasibly used. You have the choice of turbocharging them to 900+hp to compete against faster cars (of the same category, for some reason, so online with them is immediately a mess unless PD remember to limit them when they run their bi-annual Gr.1 event) - or using it to stomp cars 1-2 classes below.
They added 4 of them and yet they don't fit in anywhere. It's genuinely impressive. I cannot think of another game or developer that would do something like this.

No Sophy as well just renders them DoA to me. Regular AI cannot handle multiclass and if I'm driving these things I just have little interest in putting them in a grid of the same cars. I'm just not going to use them because there's nowhere for them to be properly used. How do you have a racing game and not have anywhere to properly race the stock form of the top competing Le Mans class?? Madness.

Spam on the way, apologies in advance but been driving the hypercars around their natural habitat, the Nurburgring! Not my best driving but hey ho.

Thoughts on things, the Peugeot and Porsche were the easiest to pick up and play, the BMW and Ferrari are a bit more technical. I would do a lap with the safety car but I keep trying to drive it like one of the above so will leave it for a moment 😂

All in all, I like this update.

Don't worry, the honeymoon period for this update is gonna end soon for even its most fervent defenders. After driving the new cars for all of 10 minutes, they're already asking for the rest of the LMH grid like the ungrateful parasites they are.

I can't wait for those to come with more bog-standard chase-the-rabbit events against the entire rest of the Gr.1 category, because PD forgot how to do good game design 15 years ago.:lol::lol:

Yep, I'm starting to fear Sophy updates are strategically held out only for the power packs (if we end up having more than this one) or, eventually, broad general implementation in GT8.
No new circuits or cars compatibility for so long now cannot be just the result of long training lead times. There was a period of time where updates to Sophy were flowing more often, but now it's just a big black hole

No, we're asking for the rest of the grid because we like this lot and want to complete the set.
How exciting, you get to grind Sardegna World Touring Car 800 with 10 different LMHs because no other meaningful or relevant content will be added for any of these cars!

Or maybe you want to race them with Sophy? Oh wait, Sophy hasn't been updated since March 2025 and can't drive any of the new cars! Maybe you want to try a Power Pack race with them? Oh wait, the only Gr.1 races in there are restricted to Group Cs only!

Maybe you decide to try a multiclass lobby with these new cars and the GT3s they've added. Oh wait, the lobby size limit is only 16, the collision physics are awful, you can't mandate a custom BoP, and then the host disconnects, which closes the entire lobby down because host migration has not returned despite being in GT5, GT6 and GT Sport!

What a joyful and radiant experience that you couldn't have gotten from those filthy road cars 🤢🤢🤢 with their different driving dynamics 🤢🤢🤢 and unique tuning options 🤢🤢🤢. Thank God PD added 10 cars that are fundamentally identical in almost every way!

At least I didn't spend all that time writing out four paragraphs that say nothing of any interest whatsoever. Games got issues, same as every other game. See my Nurburgring videos, you make the most of what you've got.
To be fair you've literally done one lap of an empty track in each car, if that's as far as the emergent gameplay goes with them then he's really not wrong in saying that they're not adding much to the experience.

In the current state of the game I really don't see how another 4 more of the same would be of any benefit. You can do what you've done in the 550 other cars and most of those have other things you can do with them.

Anyone got an idea on the speed order of the 4 LeMans racers, as in which is the quickest around a track, which is Nr. 2, 3, 4?
