Driving to a dealership to buy a car maybe fun for around five minutes.

I don't like the wait for a trailer to open to get a virtual car let alone having to drive along route x to find a shop.

I just think some gamers are fed up with the GT formula and want a TDU game tbh.

I want them to keep the GT formula but there are only so many tracks, and only so many things you can do. If they add a freeroam, when I get bored of heading around the tracks I can try something different and explore the island with its' city, coasts and hills, come to think of it GT doesn't have a hillside track do they.

Also unlike other areas of the game, we would be meeting others, be able to exit our cars and control our avatar for once or just be able to have a good look at cars via our avatar.

That sounds like the sims.

That's years and years off. They have just finished taking photos of Bathurst. You probably won't see that for a year. To do a whole island would take generations. Kaz would be long gone by then and his great grand children Kaz the third will be in charge.

Good luck with that.

Ps, do you like waiting for the virtual trailer to open? Just curious.

Virtual trailer where's that?

The avatars already have programmed movement, you see it in the special events, I'm not expecting full actions just enough for a player to get a good 1st person view of cars with.

Sorry I'm dragging this OT.
What I meant with the virtual trailer is on the GT ASpec/Bspec homepage. Just a virtual truck that opens when you get prizes or gift tickets.

It may not be there anymore after the patches?

Is there any point to the feedback system? PD obviously aren't taking any notice since of the top 10 requests only two have been done (More tracks and standard > premium, but only one and at cost which isn't what most people wanted).

Definitely free roam would be amazing. The debate I think is do we want AI traffic or just the users' cars?

I believe having AI traffic will bring more to the environment. If PD doesn't want contect between players and AI traffic, and Players and Players on the streets, they could make it possible that we go through them or us like ghosts. ;)👍

I heard about the C-Spec too, but no details really. I think I may need to clear up my feedback entry but Android can't use the feedback section :(.

As for traffic? I think I would say no to start with because traffic would put more stress on servers, and cause problems somewhere (after all this is PD), they should just restrict the traffic to user cars to begin with, and if the freeroam is found to be bug-free they can patch in a traffic option.

I'll go with that idea. 👍

Although we have an absolute wave of good ideas, I'm just trying to create an overall idea that takes into account everybody's view, but still remains workable :).

We do have to bear in mind that Polyphony Digital are a small development team, so as great as our ideas may be, they may be too much work for such a small development team :(.

That's one problem still being an issue. :(

I would love to have a freeroam. I had this on mind evr since GT1 when I first drove on the Special Stage Route 5 thinking: man I´d love just to turn left right here, see whats beyond that boundery...

I´ve no idea of programming but I guess it wouldn´t be too much of a problem to accomplish. a modelled scenery/city, i mean there´s so many games out there that already did it, personally I enjoyed Driver on PSone aswell as the last title Driver SanFrancisco, they modelled almost all of North Frisco´s Road Map, I compared it on Google maps and I was stunned by it, if it wasn´t for the bad physics (tho I liked them better than TDU2´s) and especially the anoying AI in traffic, i would have really enjoyed cruising and still play that game.

But as of GT, I wouldnt even mind if they´d use the standards or even standardise the premiums due to the issues with lags, I´d rather have a great variety of cars in big traffic then 16 premium scaled cars lost in a deserted city.

The idea of the ghost cars to avoid contact is great, since Kaz mentioned he would want us to obey traffic laws and stop at lights and all that, this is a good way to keep off trolls and of course us not crashing into AI cars or anything... But there should be an option for other use of it like some kind of racing within (not illegal street races tho).

The possibility to walk around could be kept just like the photo mode on a track, maybe to include a 2nd person view on an avatar, why not, but its not the most important thing, imo

All in all, great idea if comes within GT6 or as seperate game, don´t care, I´d just love it

edit: oh yeah and we would need a cruise control! but to be able to adjust, not like an autopilot

My god I would love to be a fly on the wall during the meetings when it's decided what's in, and what's out.

I think it would be a great idea for Need for Speed to attempt to replicate GT style physics, then introduce open world. Gran Turismo has always been a racing purists haven, I wouldn't want them to use valuable resources for a project of this scale.

I wish they would focus on an unforgettable A-Spec, and do away with B-spec.
We all know A-Spec is severly lacking, and the level 40 cap needs to be removed, similiar to what Turn 10 did with Forza... Can anyone say 999?

Gran Turismo has always been a racing purists haven? In one way your right, but keep in mind that GT has always been driving(console-)simulation haven, what I mean is that there is a lot of people using online for some kind of traffic based cruising, especially the japanese do that very disciplinned.

There are lots and lots of people who would enjoy a free roam on GT, because c´mon NFS trying to replicate GT physics? We all know Shift, what else do I have to say?

Another thing, don´t you all enjoy the sound of a V8 when in low rpm accelerating??? Even in GT it´s a plessure... think about it...

Unless you can afford a gas guzzler in real life nowadays, this is a great way to live a dream for many people!

Not in GT5, not when all the cars sound like crap compared to their real life counterparts.

You were reffering to me? Chevelle doesn´t sound like crap, neither in GT5 nor in real life

Without trying to change the subject of this thread, may I just point out that very little cars in GT5 sound close to their real life counterparts. I'm not saying that the Chevelle sounds like crap in real life, all I'm saying is that it, and pretty much all the other cars, sounds terrible in GT5.

let me ask you one question, What speakers do you use, the ones from your tv?

My neighbour happens to have ´70 Nova and he´s got the engine implanted that the chevelle, GT put in the game, has. slight difference there would be the missing heavy tones even with a good sub.

Like the other day someone said on Forza all cars would sound the same, they don´t, if you listen closely they all differ!

Now I´m not saying GT had great exhaust sounds, the opossite the case, but I think your a little overreacting saying al l(or pretty much) of them sound like crap

anyway it has nothing to do with free roam really, if it ever comes, by that time they might have changed the sounds

Some 90's speakers.

That the speakers are bad doesn't mean it's an excuse for GT's "seemingly" poor engine sounds. If I watch a clip of a real life Lexus LFA using my regular TV speakers, it should sound good. With speakers, it should sound even better.

Was mostly hyperbole.

Oh well. Each to their own. 👍

Anyway, back on topic...

... just this one more, lol, currently we use gt to race... do you think a race driver gives a damn about how nice his car sound? Chid is jus LOUD, so put your speakers up till they blow up, might work! ;)
I never disagreed some cars sound crap, but its not ALL, some sound pretty similar to their "real life counterparts", the C63 AMG is one example... ok enough now, lol,

Well, if you want to listen to a good exhaust note whilst cruising, as you said here:

I can't imagine your in game fuel comsumption being too good.*

*Which I hope PD adds if they are going to include a free roam mode. Just for novelty.

i dont get your point, why should my "in game consumption not" be "too good"?

Well, if they do add a free roam mode, one's driving style should affect how much fuel they use. If they like to go flat out all the time, they should be using a lot more fuel than the person who drives more conservatively.

I'm totally liking this idea because no other game developer has done it before in an open world driving game. Not a game that I'm aware of, anyway.
