this would be great for rally drivers and all drivers cause we could make a sort of targa florio. but if this is something like open world in horizon or tdu then it wont be too good of an idea

Copy right claims? or the realistic weather GT5 has with snow rain and funtioning wipers and horns? If not please explain?

i still think open world is a little too unnecessary if its done wrong. im not downing anbody's ideas but remember this is a racing/motosports game and it is getting more "sim" every year

Hate to disagree but its been a "Driving" simulator as long as i can remember. No racing simulator here, may be mostly racing but in everyday cars. Licences and challenges, which i think should be called track days or action days to be closer to real life.

GT freeroam with cops? No, just no.

To all who claim GT is about driving, not racing, you're plain wrong. Sorry. Since there were cars, there were men racing them. You can race 50 bhp cars as much as you can race 500 bhp cars, but just imagine a game where all you do is... Cruise. "Wow, just got myself a Zonda Cinque! It cruises so smooth at 70 mph! Hey, anyone knows a good tune for cruising at 75 mph?"

I can see your point on how you disagree. However there definatly be track races im sure of that but Tracks in Addition to whats avalible. Forgive me if it sounds jumbled up, ill try to be as clear as i can. You know when people race on curcuit tracks, PP races, HP, car types etc. I agree GT 5 is a great driving/ Racing simulator. But people hate limits, some people dont mind but a lot dont. However People want more options avalible to them and how many people Buy map packs extra tracks and add on DLC? Alot which makes the developers money and customer satisfaction. I agree with you Man and Racing are no stranger to each other. But people want more. But by free roam i mean a whole differnt server or a extention to GT5. For racers to use the Tracks and Drift, Drag, Race, etc. What I mean is If GT has the Resources to create a server just for free roam on others peoples rooms or if its preinstalled on there hard drives, people who want to take a break from racing a little and cool off they will have a server they can go to to chill and enjoy more of the Game. I understand your frustration, but if we can think of a way to make us all happy and find a way to Squeze our ideas into one Big game people will love and enjoy. I think GT can make a game to make us all happy.

If you dont agree i respect your decision.

you have a point but, there has been a lot more race cars, compatible racing wheels, more professional racing courses, and even gt academy to make it feel more like a racing sim

Yeh i guess but still alot of road races vs tracks atm too. Open free roam could be what ever you make it, drift LA, Cruise through London, Drift Paris....... That still sounds fantasy to me. Cruising london, good luck in real life lol. Racing would still be the biggest part but a bit of free roam with a few fun parts (like tag or hide and seek) would make a few hours fly by, imo

Free roam would be nice, but imo there are much more important things they need to include first.

No, but I have seen that you get points from crashing etc. Arcade enough?

I've not seen that myself. However people create lobby's for cops and smashes etc doesn't mean it's arcade because someone chooses to do it.

I'll have to keep an eye out for compulsory crash play. I'm not keen on that idea myself. I thought it was racing point to point. If I'm wrong then accept my apologies.

Mostly kids like to play this area of wrecking. they try to see hows the best driver and who causes the most damage. example its like bringing a tank car to a circut race....

agreed Guy who did

I think this would be a great way to break in your cars, and especially compete with forza horizon.

are you sure we need to compete with horizon and nfs most wanted for that matter because that would be a lost cause

Well, no need for competing. Let's just steal the open world driving and ditch the corny storyline and the rather silly "gaining-popularity-for-reckless-driving" point system.

What does that leave you with on a gameplay perspective? Sticking to speed limits and obeying traffic laws maybe a nice tool for those who don't drive.

For those who drive daily that would soon get boring.

I'm on the fence with horizon ATM. On one hand there's radio stations and supposedly you have to crash into others to win?

On the other it's supposed to be close to Forza in physics dept and having played TDJ with a wheel it was rubbish.

Anyway demo next week might reveal more.

Yes, I forgot that we all drive these Ferrari F40's and Lamborghini Miura's all day long in exotic environments and spectacular roads.

You have to admit that the "popularity" thing is corny. If it was done in drifting events or car shows etc when there's an actual audience, then I could buy it. But gaining popularity for driving like an idiot on public roads when no one is even watching, it's bad... I'm sure it's possible to come up with a much better concept.

Yes I can agree with that. I prefer realism over silly regulations. NFS world etc prove there is a market for that sort of thing but not my cup of tea.

The devs have said that the main Forza franchise will stay and that FH caters to both Forza faithful and newcomers alike.

I'm not fully convinced if its my thing.
Cruising around (even in a virtual lambo) at the speed limit would not hold my interest.
I would have to put my foot down lol.

The one aspect that could make it work is the same as any other online game. Like minded individuals.
If you have a decent friend list and decent lobby options it could be fun.

I would like to map out my own point to point course. Invite friends, set restrictions on car class and go for it. That would be fun. Then again not really realistic in the real world as its illegal.

Time will tell.

Don't own a 360 but even if this was comin out on PS3 it wouldn't interest me.

Never played TDU and only NFS games I enjoyed were the Underground series (only because they used everyday cars)

Like some posts above, the idea of it just bores me, kinda why Grid2 doesn't interest me either, I'm not a fan of point to point unless its WRC.

Should sell ok but I don't think it will have much longevity in it......

Grid2 ? Is that P2P also.

There are many Racing tracks and point to point races that interest differnt people. However how can we reach a comprimise that would fit everyone. If GT stays a closed track to track, then there are alot of people who will fell like there pinched in. I wont lie raceing track fans will be happy if it remains closed but what about other people. Everyone wants differnt things we cant all put in one game. unless GT has the resources.

GT Life should mean GT Life.

If you buy a car you need a truck and trailer. Driving it from track to track. Police could pull you over and the whole 9 yards. Finding a paddock spot coming into the racetrack. Using money earned during races for race expenses (fuel, tires, damage, entry fees, etc...).

Geting sponsorship and moving up from different race series like touring cars to formula. Touring:

SCCA Pro Racing
-World Challenge
-SCCA Pro-It Series
-SCCA Trans-Am
BTCC
WTCC
DTM
FIA GT
Super GT
Porsche Super Cup
Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge
Grand-Am
ALMS
WEC

Formula:
SCCA Pro
-Formula Enterprise
-Forumla Ford
-F2000
Star Mazda
Indy Lights
GP3
GP2
Formula Renault 2.0
Formula Renault 3.5
IndyCar
F1

This could take many seasons and keep people interested in the game.

PD needs GT6 to have street cars for the street, a job for life, and hot girlfriend depending on what kind of money you have highering your reputation at the track.

GT6 needs more tracks like
-Watkins Glen
-Road America
-Road Atlanta
-Brands Hatch
-Silverstone
-Hockenheim (New/Old)
-A1/Red Bull Ring
-Circuit de Cataluyna
-Modern Monaco
-Abu Dhabi
-Circuit of the Americas
-Barber Motorsports Park
-Long Beach
-Weehawken GP Circuit

Car Makes
-PORSCHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-More AUDI

Tire Compound Brands
-Pirelli
-Goodyear
-Hoosier
-Michelin
-Continental
-Yokohama
-Toyo

Car Mods
-Aero kit options for all cars
-More rim choices

-Selling cars/trucks/trailers/tires/parts to users
-Buying all that stuff from users

ALL THIS WOULD MAKE GT6 SELL!!!!!!!!!!

They should also fix the physics of the game better. And bring back some of the old cars. Plus i bet theyed make the S cars simplified views. But not only that GT would need a big server to process all that right> even if its installed on the HDD. But what they really need to do is stop using blu ray discs for the game. Im starting to get tired of buying the game over and over just to have it stop working again every three months. Make it actualy install as play the game from the HDD not relying on the CD.

Sorry, but these two things just sound like annoying obstacles that get in the way of what I want to do, which is race. If GT6 had any of this, I would never buy it.

To be honest, your whole post looks like a fantasy of your dream racing game. I'm not bashing your ideas, but realistically, I can't see a lot of things in your post being in GT6.

Whats a annoying obsticle is needing to have a required licence for the race. Thats a pain in the butt. Also i dont think theyll have X1's if it becomes open world. Plus tire ware + fuel consumption, fill up at a gas station, change tires n get a oil change.

Project Cars will have free roam for those that like that kind of thing. I truly hope they leave it out of Gran Turismo though and just stick with tracks.

Does free roam mean like in GT5 you can drive around the closed track and do what you like, but actually being a quite pointless thing except for track training? Because that's not the thing we mean in this thread. If it means it includes realistic open roads with beautiful scenery then we talk about the same thing.
(Sorry, haven't really bothered getting involved with that game's development so far so I honestly have no idea how a free drive mode will be implemented. Just took a quick look at the car list, what would be the point of a realistic free drive mode if 90% of the cars are non-street legal race cars anyway?)

Free roam = driving around on public roads. Here is a video of project cars.

It looks like TDu and TDU 2 in one, but are differnt in some areas. but yup a open map to explore and race. Tarmac, Dirt. What would be better is snow. Reason being i love raly cars so pardon me for my 2 cents.
