I mean I know people who have put 300 hours into fall out and then say it sucks. WHY !?! If you don't like something stop playing it. Science has shown people who identify a sunk cost and ditch it is significantly smarter than those who stick with a sunk cost. Heck sunk cost denial is a major contributor to poor business/life decisions. If I buy a game for 60$ and I don't like it is going to sell it for 50$ on eBay and walk away. There are some who insist they are going to get their money worth out of something that they legitimately can't enjoy. Like just move on.

That's good of them, too much sport on at the time so gave it a miss this year and bit of a mission to get to as well. Might go back again if they get the Valkyrie. Probably the best car event anywhere in the world.

Did you get to talk to many top racing drivers? Any secret GTers?

James Hillier (Isle of Man TT rider) plays often and he was expressing his frustration with the pre-update penalties. He was pretty fast.

I met Jack Aitken (F2 and Renault F1 reserve driver) and he was slightly annoyed that I gave James some tips to go faster than him but it was all good fun. Jack eventually went faster. (Me and Jack below )

Alex Albon (F2) and his brother Luca had a go and Luca was actually faster.

Colin Turkington was pretty quick and his corner cutting at Brands Hatch in true BTCC fashion was pretty funny! His sons wanted him to get on the top 10 board so I helped him out too. There is a very special feeling in these instances where you give drivers of this calibre tips and you watch them learn and improve every lap at an alien-like rate.

Alex Buncombe finished top of the board at the end of the weekend and pipped Lucas.

There were also some signing sessions including Vandoorne and Kubica at the FIA stand where we had a couple of pods. I didn't meet them but my mate asked Stoffel if he wanted to drive a McLaren to which he replied "no" and instead picked a Honda! Very telling.

I have a question to those who keep complaining about GTS; whether be it the tire model, the throttle linearity, lack of content, or the penalty system: Why do you guys keep playing the game? I get it that it helps to complain every now and then; I'm no exception to that, but sometimes I feel like all some people ever do is complain about the game and never enjoy it. What makes you still go ahead and play GTS despite all the, in your guys' opinion, crap it gives you?

Is it that you are still playing in the hopes that GTS will eventually fix everything? Or are you simply "hate-playing" (playing so you can complain about the game)? I mean, some of the most prominent complainers I see are actually A+ players, or have over 1000 races, so it's not like they just go to this forum and complain; they still actually play the game. Why so?

Reason being: they fell in love with the series a long time ago, keep playing it for nostalgic purposes, and then hate on it for changing so much or not having changed at all.


Just leave them be, there is no point in discussing them, pointing them out, or accusing someone of falling into this group of gamers.


Seeing as this is a discussion of GT Sport, I'd rather see posts discussing the game. For instance, my current gripe with the car list, is not having the variants of certain vehicles, namely the Ford Focus. We have the Focus ST so why not add the RS at launch as well?

I understand this isn't the wish list thread for this game but you get the idea.

As long as we have constructive criticism and civil discussions we're all fine and dandy.

No more passive aggressive posts regarding people that in someone's opinion are just blatantly complaining about the game.

Well congratulations Polyphony or whoever made this gt sport another game on the market which is so hard it borders impossible or say well above most normal humans capabilities.
Mission Challenge stage 4 number 1 and 2. Number 1 just overtake more than about 3-4 cars and find it impossible to catch the rest, simple as that after 30 attempts so moved on to number 2 with the Alfa 4c iirc where you have to catch the car a lap in front, ok I can catch it and overtake it but I always fail as the car does not go fast enough to do it in the allotted time. 2nd GT Sport to enter the bin what a waste of time and money these last couple of GT games have been.
Won't be buying the next one.

It's been about a month since I did these races, but I redid them because I honestly couldn't remember them.

I managed to get to 2nd place by the end of the 1st lap on my first re-attempt and beat the 2nd place car at the end by 3.5 seconds. My time was 4:07:8 and I wouldn't say I was perfect (completely messed up the first corner). It's not impossible, just keep plugging away.

For the Alfa 4C, I just missed it on my first re-attempt (1:10.1) and got it on my 2nd re-attempt (1:09.6). Shift to 3rd gear as soon as the race starts (starts you off right at the rev limit in 2nd), which will shave a tenth or two off. Make sure you don't go on the flat parts in the corners as you lose a lot of speed doing so (better to go full throttle and partial steering). Don't go into the two sharp corners too fast and take them a gear higher than they tell you to (3rd gear for the 1st corner, 4th gear for the 3rd corner).

I think I have lost some cars on my garage today. About 20-30 cars. But I am not sure because I haven't played a lot recently. I thought I had Black BMW Gr. 4 but it was not there. There are 538 cars, if I am not forgotten I already got more than 550. So I used my money to get 2 BMW Gr. 4 again, Red and Black. D***** it, why this happened to me. Maybe PD should give offline save mode. Losing cars makes me uncomfortable playing the game. I hope it will never happen again.

A huge well done to you for your skill. No1 I overtake about 3-4 cars then the rest are a spot in the distance I just can't catch them I turned down TC and all the other stuff off apart from ABS which I had on default and still got no where! Just think I am not good enough now I see it is possible to get to 2nd place after 1 lap as you did, it takes me a week to catch the back markers lol.
No2 Catch the car a lap in front, the best I have done is 1.27 something, If I try and go faster I just slide and lose time. I did turn on Stability control but that slowed me even more, I adjusted TC from zero to 4 in case I was getting wheel spin but no joy so gave up.
Think my skill level has waned over the years so best I give it a miss as it was starting to bore me. Had to happen one day.

Having no issues on any other games.

Are you on a wired connection? I keep mine wired all the time. Haven't had problems with disconnecting but have had many problems with lobbies crashing after a host leaves even when the host is not the dedicated host of the lobby.

If I remember correct, the car didn't turn or brake very well, so definitely a case where slow is fast. I'm of average skill at best, but I remember golding this test, but after figuring out, I needed to slow down.

My guess is licensing deals.

For example, why, after all the other GT-R variants in GT6 did we not get the R34 Z-Tune (perhaps one of the most famous R34's on par with the 400R)? My assumption was that the licence was exclusive to Codemasters who had it in the Grid games at the time.

It's possible that the current RS licence is held by EA or Forza.

After watching dozens of SuperGT's GTSport videos, I thought I'd try my own hand at racing. I did around 7 races in a row on today's Gr.4 races. Absolute fun, and ranked up to a DR rating of C and an SR rating of A. Fairly clean racing, save for some bad apples.

My absolute favorite car has become the Mustang Gr.4. Proper beast of a car. My fastest qualifying lap on the Nurburgring GP section was ~2:07.960. It was also refreshing to see a variety of cars. A few Meganes, but I was surely the only Mustang in all my races. Out of the 7 races, I won 2 of them. One was due to qualifying first, the other was due to gaining 4 positions. All other races I finished either Top 5 or Top 8.

Was punted off the track a couple times on the first corner; truly becomes a cluster 🤬

The only rival that gave me trouble during racing was the Mitsubishi Evo X Gr.4; that car can truly handle.

It is a bit further away. Noticed it more while drifting, I could see my BRZ's complete fender and almost the side of the front bumper. It feels like the camera swings a bit more too, but that could just be me.

Yep, Mustang is choice. AWD have nothing on it. A Veyron, Atenza, STI, Evo, tried. But the Mustang has excellent stability, braking and grunt everywhere. So easy to drive.

I’ll have to try the BRZ. But yeah, I noticed it when I was in the Skyline R32. Are you using the DS4? If so, and if you don’t mind me asking, what settings do you prefer to use? I’m always messing around with the sensitivity settings because I feel like the chase cam keeps changing through the updates.

I’ll have to try the BRZ. But yeah, I noticed it when I was in the Skyline R32. Are you using the DS4? If so, and if you don’t mind me asking, what settings do you prefer to use? I’m always messing around with the sensitivity settings because I feel like the chase cam keeps changing through the updates.

By the BRZ I mean the Turn 14 version.

In regards to the DS4 I believe the sensitivity is set to -1 or -2, I'll have to check that tomorrow. I'll update you on that.

Also, I use the right analog stick for throttle and brake input because my R2 button on both my controllers only registers 50% throttle, sometimes less. This overrules my ability to do a burnout and to trail brake.

The camera I leave default. I've only messed with the interior cam in the Audi R8 4.2 and the factory 2015 Ford Mustang. I mostly opt to drive in bumper cam when qualifying and chase cam when racing.

@GTPVenomZombie my DS4 sensitivity is set at +5.


Had some great racing today on Dragon Trail. Car of choice became the RCF GT3 prototype. Fastest qualifying lap I managed to set was 1:39.447. The last race I had put me in pole position and I basically just ran away with it the entire race. The former races I participated in, I had a lot of trouble against the Chevy Corvette GT3 cars. I could not catch them on the straights. Corners I could shave some hundredths of a second but on the straights, forget it.

Overall though, in the slower qualifying races, there was more diversity. In the faster qualifying races, there was less, as the Corvette became the vehicle of choice. Many times I would be the only one in the Lexus RCF.

I had, however, the best and closest race of my two-day racing career. Gain 6 positions to ultimately win the entire race.

Now that most of us will have a collection of race suits, I would like to see the introduction of Associated Suit and Helmet options on an individual car basis. I keep forgetting to change my gear before hitting the track after changing to another car.

Love the suit and helmet customisation!
