Very tempting to get down there and try the game and mini comps out - the party after?

Of course you can also come and meet some of the lovely GT Planet staff as well...

"You’ll have to excuse my infomercial tone here, but… “that’s not all!”. May 20 gets really interesting for fans eager to play the game, as Sony and PD will be opening up the event to a limited number of the public.

The game will be the main attraction of course, but with a record number of Vision GT models scattered around the space, a Q & A session with Kazunori Yamauchi himself, plus food and drinks, there will be plenty to do between test-driving Polyphony’s newest creation. Not to mention the numerous GTPlanet staff members that will be in attendance!

Wondering how you can gain access to this wild ride? Stay tuned!"

All that for the announcement of an announcement.

Talk about lame.

This is pretty neat. Wish I had the money and time to get there for next week.

I'm just sad I don't live in the UK. Hell, I never live in close proximity to anything exciting :indiff:

Seriously, PD never fails to impress.

Three years ago they took over Silverstone to announce GT6 to the press, and now for GTS's unveiling, they're taking over a former Olypmic venue for two days, and even allowing the public to participate and win FIA trophies... wonder what'll be in store for GT7!

They take over the Shibuya Crossing :D

TFW you're going to be busy revising for exams during next Thursday.

Not to mention that they took over the town of Ronda for GT6's launch. Wonder what GT Sport's launch party will be like. FIA's headquarters are at Place de la Concorde, the biggest square in Paris, so maybe they'll take that over?

Hold your horses, the event could be delayed...

And was the announcement of an announcement delayed?

I find it sad – but altogether not unexpected – that some members are finding this "lame". As if a semi-public (free) event to be amongst the very first to try GT Sport, in a room where you're given the opportunity to directly interact with Kaz and other members of Polyphony, is a common occurrence.

When has this happened before?

As someone who got to take part in something sort of similar (the Jalopnik Film Festival), this is insanely cool. Glad the majority of people enjoyed the fun leading up to this... we're only getting started here. :mischievous:

:gtpflag:

One question remains though... is this event the "public beta" they mentioned at PGW? Or will we still get to download it after the event?

Good question... I hope this isn't it until it launches in October...

From the PS Blog's original post, they said this: "With the beta expected to begin in Spring 2016, it won’t be long before players can experience all GT has to offer on the power of the PS4."

So it sounds like there will be a downloadable beta.

My thoughts on the news:

I'm not complaining. This is the best news I've heard since the initial announcement at PGW. At least we know PD is doing fine :) 👍

Well technically the event allows "players to experience all GT has to offer" since it's being made public... really hope it'll be downloadable though!

Great news though, very grateful, shame I can't be there. Good luck to those of you going!
