Looking over the GT Sport pages on the main site, noticed something amusing on the graphics page:

Huge strides have also been made in landscape expressions. See each and every leaf on a tree as it sways in the wind. Weather, time and the age of the tree are considered when reproducing it in the game, right down to its bark.

So whilst we don't know yet whether weather/time changes are in the game or not, we at least know they were considered so PD could make a good tree.

-The way they gave up on the premium cars from GT6 (some of them looked really good and will be missed...)
For real though, i really can't wrap my head around that. It's just an autogoal if put like this.

Looks like we can separate Real and Virtual cars from one group.
Link please? I think I missed this part :p

Here are my impressions on the game and the event, PD doing PD things, as always:

- In the spectator mode, TV camera seemed to show a different game, but hood and exterior view look exactly the same as GT6, at least on a video.

- Finally all the cars to be featured will be complete, at least they stopped lying in that aspect.

- Concerning to the event, GT3s on an oval... (?)

- As always they´ve made a hybrid game. Let´s forget now the graphics and physics, and let´s focus on the concept. Wasn´t it supposed to be an e-Sports game? What are the missions and the offline mode doing there? Some people wanted to play GT6 just in the offline mode, something understandable as this franchise has had entertaining career modes (GT Mode). Those people were disappointed because GT6´s GT Mode was awful, with easy AI, no rules on races, and damage or tyre and fuel wear not featured in, which were in the online lobbies. Now that they start to brag out on the fact they´ve made a game oriented to the online mode, we find the Campaign and missions mode... wasn´t it supposed to be 100% centered on online racing?

- Having in mind all from the previous point, my question is: Is the amount of time spent on the online features sufficient to guarantee a serious online racing game? My answear is no. Online lobbies will continue to be a disaster although they´ve implanted a Safety Car and a yellow flag system. They haven´t even told us about how the drivers are going to be ranked. And no, the level system we ALL know isn´t a way to make a selection of the clean drivers out there, in the middle of millions of theme who won´t be racing seriously. And the other half of the game that has to be game won´t fix that.

- Vinyl feature finally in, a bit of giving the community what it wanted.

- Now the excuse to buy the game won´t be the "a thousand cars and tracks" fact, but it´ll be the "I can be a FIA liscenced driver just by slamming others in online lobbies".

Deeply disappointed and touched with some of the top level racers doing dirty recoveries to the track, on Nurbur and BH GP, is that what the "serious GT racing community" wants to show off?

The comments section on most YT videos about GTS are really toxic

Did that event on PSN ever lead to anything?
It was a link to the stream on YouTube. It is how I watched it and used my laptop for keeping up with this insane thread.

I guess the only right place to have a conversation is here, ugh.
They still may be in. We don't have the full car list.
Might be the ace under the sleeve they'llbe showing off at E3, but i'd doubt it.

Looking forward to seeing you if you're at event tomorrow - who's going?

At this point i'm even wondering what was the "real" purpose of the event.
They knew that the product they were showing was just a piece of the full game, but decided to show it nonetheless.
I argue if they'd do this just to see if the GT still has a following or to receive actual feedback?

I think the number 130 is referred to the new cars to the GT series, not to the whole number of cars in GTS. The premiums from GT6 should be in GTS as well me thinks.

So just a couple of things, first of all the "50% done" that people are clinging to. A lot has happened to take in, but am I right in thinking only the Spanish YouTube guy said that? Because if so, it's hardly something to use as a solid base. I don't recall PD saying it.

Also they didn't remodel the Vision cars, they were obviously started after the new method of modelling. Based on the cars included, it seems they switched over right towards the end of normal GT6 development, and then obviously all DLC cars were done in that method, whatever it is.

If that's so, i'll be more than happy to be corrected and eat again my skepticism:lol: Just wish this doesn't end up like the newest COD.

Also, quite strange to have a LaFerrari, but no Koenigsegg or McLaren track cars(675LT, P1) in photos.

They didnt' show a full car list yet... too soon to judge what will or will not be in the game.
Either way, as of now, we are missing a lot of cars, with this being said, a Kownigsegg should be the least of your concerns, since it's just straight line beast. We are laking much more important cars in terms of what they bring to the game but also the history behind them and/or the brand. So far, we have only seen one Mclaren, one Lambo, one Ford, a single Nissan (hard to believe huh?)... I could go on all night, but as you can see, a Koenigsegg won't be a priority right now since we are lacking in every important and remarkable brand.

@SWR_WeiTN if there wasn't an offline mode, they would sell barely any copies of the game lol. And then again, the game would turn to be just a competitive online experience, and I think most of the people here wouldn't want that.

My impressions are that the new content and features that have been revealed with the event in London today almost make this a guaranteed buy for me. I'm not going to be someone who is going to let a few graphical and sound flaws from a beta version of the game stand in my way from enjoying the things Polyphony did bring to the table.

The graphics look pretty good, nice balance between "oooh shiny" and realism. HUD looks fantastic, and the flagging system looks good too. I hope that there's more than a "full-course yellow" option and there can be local yellows and full-fledged Safety Car periods too.

Unfortunately I was at work during 70% of the stream among other things, would someone mind linking a video, preferably, of the new Safety Car in action if there is one? I looked through the stream archive but didn't find anything.

Hi, I managed to upload this bit of the safety car.

There is still a fair bit of content left to reveal.

By @Samus' list we have 42 confirmed cars, leaving 95 still to go.

For tracks, there are 6 known locations (I've put guesstimates for the number of layouts beside them):

Nurburgring - 4
Brands Hatch - 2
Willow Springs - 2
Seattle - 2
Northern Isle - 1
Tokyo - 1

So potentially 13 locations covering 25 layouts left to unveil.

Feeling a bit disappointment about this reveal. I don't get it why they so stuck on using same game design decision all over again since 90s. It's outdated. For example camera view: When driveclub, AC has cockpit, dashboard, 2 different chase cameras, PD still has this stupid roof and insanely narrow (so narrow FOV that you are losing sense of speed) insanely far chase camera.

And about rebuilding cars from scratch... I'm pretty sure that is another lie, just to save some cars for GT7

It was him that said it, however he said that was what Kaz told him when he was speaking to him earlier.

Still it's 'He said that he said'. :)

After watching bit of the GT3 oval race I started to wonder if that safety car is really a player controlled car instead of ai, since its mentioned first on the grid and stays first all the way into the pits and then drops to the bottom of the list after the race started.

Also, it seems to be modelled more after a DTM safety car from a few years back instead of the GT6's MotoGP inspired version. Sadly they both are apparently equipped with the 7-speed flappy paddle box. And the lights didn't turn off once the car entered the pits and stopped after them.
