Here are my final results for GTWS cup, not bad but my last raced sucked so bad!!! It really tanked my DR and ranking overall!

I felt so sad that I didn't get to use this livery I made for the Porsche 917 LIVING LEGEND for last year's Nations Cup Series in 2024 thanks to that stupid car setting bug at the time which PD forced us to use only Rental cars for them to patch the bug after the season was done since I put in so much effort into making this livery to resemble a replica of the default livery but in blue and in my decals.

The race we had in this car at Maggiore GP Reverse might be the last time we'll use this car unless they do a Daily Race which I doubt they'll do. 😞

I really wish I could celebrate my amazing achievement of breaking into the top 25% all around. Except for the fact nearly everyone I beat did less than 5 points scoring rounds. Realistically I'm more like on the edge of just breaking into the top 75% if you count people who did 5+ rounds.

That rule about only helping teammates has been put into action for I believe the first time ever:

What the Heck! I always let by faster cars on a different strategy, I don't want to waste time and tyres on a pointless fight. So does this mean I can report everyone I let past, get them disqualified and improve my championship position?

It's worth a try 😀

I'm guessing from the wording of the Tweet it's more complicated, I assume it was streamed with voice chat if someone has reported it so the clip would be interesting to see.

Revised final standings post-penalty, which while wasn't championship/standings altering, to quote Richard Childress Racing, the "timing of this announcement could not be any worse":

EDIT: Clip of what resulted in Heck's penalty:

It seems to me that the problem it wasn't just let it him.pass but the wording used it can be taken as some kind of cheat movement, sincerely the Renault scandal and this just show why Online racing is overrated.

There is a live stream on his twitch.
This moment is, I think, around 43:25

He called him some names at the start for not showing up and commented on his chat messages, maybe that got him irritated 🤷‍♂️

Sounds like sour grapes, it's the obvious move to not race and take the drop score if the points system allows a drop score instead of boosting the lobby overall and create a chance of losing, I don't think that makes him a "pussy".

The drama…

Tongue in cheek but I’m just trying to stay top 250 and I’m only a couple of 1/10ths off these guys and I’m not bothered about qualifying. Just so so so so weird.

That message is a PSN one which you will get for messages or on stream behaviour (and that takes a lot for them to strike you for stream stuff)

It won’t be for anything that has happened in race.

Edit:

It will only be for messages or in game chat and definitely not a GT decided thing with that email as it’s the standard one.

But... it specifically cites the Nations Cup code of conduct rule about helping other drivers not on your team, and flags a disqualification and points removal for Round 5 (which has happened).

PSN Group Voice Chat is monitored FYI, so if they "arranged" it over that (or the Discord integration in PlayStation) then that would be the nail in the coffin.

A wanky coffin, I concur.

Yes the rule is there, I absolutely agree.

I just find it in all honesty just not the likely reason for that email, it’s the one I’ve had several times and im a nobody.

That the AI is trained to listen for team orders or that people listen to party chats (I feel so so so sorry for them), but the penalty system gives you 3 seconds for glancing a car going backwards….

We will see but I agree it’s a little 3 legged donkey at the mo

I'm not following your train of thought here. The screenshot is from the email, stating the points deduction and the race manipulation rule. That's literally the email.

Yeah….i didn’t actually click through to the tweet. That is my bad. I just read the intro.

Edit just for clarity, the content of the tweet was posted in after my post.

I gotta say I think I'm with PD on this one and I think a lot of people are intentionally misunderstanding what happened. There's a big gap between someone just letting you past because it's better for them, and asking someone in the same voice chat to let you past. Of course teammates will always help each other but come on, you can't just be quiet about it?

And this is where the "teammates" tag becomes a joke and misunderstood. PD don't define teams. 2 Dstinct drivers got pinged last year for 1 pulling over to let another finish ahead at the end after both had a blah race. If teams aren't teams then what does PD class as teams?

Anyway. I did my 1 race round 1 and that was enough to score 1.5mill credits for a bronze prize after the season. P2 in my town and major area and p whatever in NZ. And yes, p2 is bronze because there were only 2 of us in town and the region.

I'm guessing that the rule was either lifted from other games with teams or envisioning team-based races that we never got (might be fun...) I don't think that teams outside of the game should be given any special treatment and the rule should be changed.

I always figured they meant drivers signed with the same manufacturer (for Manu Cup) or from the same country (for Nations). However they define it, I'm pretty sure they aren't enforcing it for the low-A lobbies that I drive in, so it makes no difference to how I drive in my races.

But if they are going to be enforcing these rules on the top drivers, they definitely need to be clearer about what they mean.

I'd love to see it, but I'm not holding my breath. Last year, we had to wait until July for exhibition seasons to come back. I'm guessing that's what we'll see again this year. I sincerely hope PD proves me wrong,
I was wondering the same thing and came here to ask when the next series is likely.

I wonder if they will be looking at making BoP changes after last weeks Finals, if the players had any feedback to GT.

In case you missed it, BoP changes for Gr.3 in today's update:

No jump in the ID of today's Time Trial, though -- which would be a telltale sign that a new season is coming. Suppose we'll need to wait at least another week for a new exhibition season.

Not sure what to make of it, but the ID on today's new time trial is significantly higher than last week's: 12341 versus 12257 for the US events. That's a jump of 84, which is bigger than usual. For comparison, the jump last was only a 5 (12252 to 12257) for last week's time trial. Could this be a sign that a new GTWS is on the way? I hope so.

While there's still no sign of GTWS Exhibition seasons, the two Japan-only TTs are not in that range either - GT Kokutai 2025 is 12466 and TGR e-Motorsports Challenge League is 12467.

Some pulling out of fingers is going to have to happen if we are to have any more exhibition racing in 2025, assuming that PD won't run an exhibition race on the same weekend as a live event, or run an exhibition season straddling a live event weekend (ie with rounds before and after).
As I write there's 6 clear weekends left before Berlin, so enough time to get a season (typically 4 Wednesdays and 4 Saturdays) in if an announcement is made in the next 10 days or so.
Then, there's 5 weekends free before LA, and another 5 before the finals in Fukuoka.
So in theory we could see 3 seasons, but it'll be a packed schedule - only 4 weeks without exhibitions or live events from now until the end of the year - and although last year we saw an exhibition season start in July, in '23 they didn't start until October I think....

In any case, my theory from earlier in the thread that the reason that the season proper finished so early was so that the live events could be moved a bit earlier to let the finals be in November and give a pre-Christmas boost to sales has been well and truly blown out of the water - what is it, less than 100 hours between the world finals and Christmas day?

Last time I made a post like this there was an announcement of an exhibition season right after, so let's see if I can repeat the trick.
