I hate jumping straight into the race after a qualy session. As far as I know you can't change that in pCARS. SMS really need to do better with the online lobby options.

I know you can do warm ups i'm just not sure were you can.Isn't there like 4 slots ?

I have a request for any organized races we do. Can we please state the time of day and time progression before the race starts so we can have meaningful practice.

@Over Active i second what Oz said, we've been racing without issues all week so I don't think you should drop out.

One race with a bit of lag shouldn't mean you have to sit out the series!

I'm in the dark all the time ..., oooh you mean time of day :dunce:

@Over Active don't drop out man your a very quick clean racer, lets do some more runs first see if you can sort the problem somehow.

Is free practice different then the times you get online. When tuning my car i was doing low 207s and a late 206.
online Q i could only get a 208, strange!

They are the same for me. The time of day in the race was much later in the day than what I usually race at so maybe your tire pressure was too low?

Oh ok, something wasn't right for sure. So much to learn yet.

The host must not stream. We need the full upload bandwidth to receive all the different positions. Next time racers need to restart routers and be sure nothing else is using internet.
We can save up to 15 minutes if something worth remembering happens.

Thank you guys! After reading about 2:11s and 2:08s I feel more comfortable with my 2:03.336! Hope I can replicate that in tier qualifying!
btw: there is still some gap to the top times in leaderboard! :(

In the GT4 Aston? That IS quick.

Are you sure your not in a GT3 , 203 is not possible in GT4 Aston.

Maybe 207s max i think

Ups!! My fault. Was driving the gt3 version! Must have misread that.

So tell my why the hell are we supposed to use a freaking gt4 car when it's called gt3 world...

This is just... Never mind. Kinda pissed right now. :p

I'll have a drive with the gt4 tonight. Let's see if I can be at least not finish last in tier 3! ^^

Anyway.... :ouch:

Those who tune,

Can I ask how much time for normally gain?

I've never bothered as I don't really understand it but if it's a fair amount then I guess I'll look into It.

There is only so much time in a stock set up and although I'm not near the maximum I feel like I've generally gone as far as I can with it and my ability.

To help my lap times I hope I can gain some via a tune.

it was probably so nobody gets an advantage, for instance, if we qualified in the GT3 Audi, people would put lots of hours into driving it, then when it comes to the series, some people would already have experience with it rather than everyone being on an even keel.

I think the car and track selection for qualifying is spot on.

so isnt there one gt3 car missing in the list of cars available to pic from after qualifying!? why not take this car then!?

edit: i was wrong! sorry! so your point is valid! never mind!

That is a very good point you bring up. The host shouldn't stream. I can try hosting the next practice race if we have one. I have really good internet, but I'm in the states.

In online and offline practice you get the same times, but diferente hours of the day will mean diferent grip levels.
The best I cloud do in pratice was 206,3xx at arround 11h, I belive it´s the default time, in qualy did a 206,020 what is very odd cus I felt the track more slippery.

What time of the day did you set the room to?

Start the Races at Noon. Have the Real Time set to Real

We have to test this out, because if the guys in the US are racing at 14h, and the guys in EU are racing at 19h we will have diferent grip levels.

If the server sets the time of the race depending on the host location and its the same for everyone else, then there´s no problem, we have to test this out.

I thought it was strange at first too.

I tested my download speed after the race it was the same as normal. Running between 12 an 20 download. I noticed we had no issues last week at silverstone. But yesterday just before race in lobby all of the U.S people were red on my screen so my connection to them was bad. The guys in UK were all light green or green. I wish the had of implemented Ping readings instead of colored bars. They screen during the race yesterday was like a Christmas tree red and white dots flashing all over the place. I also saw one car yesterday floating in the air for a number of laps on the tight long right hand corner before third sector.

OK lets see what happens over they next 7 days or so. If people experience the same amount of lag yesterday with me I have no problem in dropping out. So lets see how it goes maybe we could run something on the same lines again for testing purposes.

Good call on this. Try and work around a good time

You've always been ok when we've been in the lobbies I've created and done races in. May have been the fact we had more people from the U.S. in the lobby.

Seems like it might be something we need to be careful of.

I'm in Spain if it's any help, and i never usually have lag when i play with people in the UK, Europe or NA....Any news of a rematch for the Road America race?

The way the net code works mean we MUST all stay connected. Host is important but the net code is clever enough to bypass host if connection to another player is better. So your connection will go to player B to download positions.

Basically on Sunday night : don't do anything else. Don't stream. Don't download ( on ps4 or others ). Don't disconnect even if your engine blew. I understand it is bad as you could do single player or go do something else ...

You must understand it is bandwidth and above else latency related.

I have a bad connection but last week I had perfect 16 players races with Europeans. Never witnessed such a mess.

Think of it as a torrent system the more people share the track conditions the better.

I wish they had of implemented Ping readings instead of colored bars.

I think there are ping readings in-race only for some reason. I've been behind people and its had a grey number under their coloured bar between 30-120 which would suggest ping.

Lmao :D
Went to bed abit too late yesterday so was over tired at work today when I read that quote on my phone during my lunch break. Dunno why but I was laughing way too much. :gtpflag:

So when people disconnect from a race in progress they cause connection problems. If that's the case let's make a friendly agreement that everyone stays on till finish. Yeah I didn't have my pit stradegy together. Maybe someone that knows how to tune can walk us through the settings and tell us how to tune. Not give us your personal settings because I know you want to stay competitive. Anyone up for that? Also I really enjoyed that race. After my wreck it was downhill from there but before that, I had a blast. I am really looking forward to racing with everyone and learning a thing or to from you guys.
