kewl ideas! and ALS for AWD would be kewl to cut turbo lag =) so you can have a lancer evo III pyrenee black with the sound of a rally cars with bang-bang noise that accelerate none-stop like a rally cars and dont loose control in drifting a turn cuz you have too much turbo lag!

Although its considered 'Riced up' . I like the idea of Decals of components. Where when you upgrade or change parts (as it will supposedly be possible in GT4), it'd be nice to have the possibility to apply decals stating what you have (enkei, HKS... whatever).

There,s a difference between Rice like NFS:Underground and good body kits and decals that makes the car look good, and works for aeros and control.

Whether its "street racing" or not, some cars are "Race ready", but stilll sports very 'cool' or 'Rice' looking specs and bodykits.

Also, for sponsors, it'd be fun to 'choose' who is sponsoring you. And with the Online stuff and HD, downloadable content of that sorts would be nice too.

Also lets not forget that since GT2, there were Rims upgrades, most of them which would very well apply to the 'Rice' phenomenon.

I think there is a fine line between plain stupid, and Nice looking and yet still fonctionnal. Everyone wants a 'Unique' style to their car, especially for replays and 'online' possibilities.

I personnally really enjoyed NFS:U for an arcade race game, where fun, nice effects and plain cool and overthetop looking cars were at play. But its different then the GT series because its not a simulation, not because its a different type of game. A race car is a Race car.

In japan, lots of race cars are very funcky looking, even on RaceTracks. Why can't there be a similar possibilty in GT? As long as it doesn't change the gameplay or something 'else' as to be removed for the addition of this type of stuff, i certainly don't mind it.

body kits = lots more work for developer, having ot make kits for every or almost every car in the game.

Decals would be nice, or maybe make your own emblem for your team or for yourself (ex. Armored core even though they are dif, you know what i mean)

perhaps maybe a few different model of spoiler that fits on some car.

a Custom paint job =D. with the RGB scale to your control and maybe add a glossy finish or something of that sort.

Umm, I don't think they would ever try to model kits for all the cars ;)

Or even most of 'em. Ever.

Body kits will be avalible for SOME cars according to KY.

I don't want "Ricer Mod Kits" in GT4, only race modifications, like in GT2.

The 'decal" idea souds interesting, along with a custom pait shop or other design shop concept. IRL, they had decals that stick to the pant of your car, without glue. If you don't like what you have, simply peal it off, and start over with a brand new design.

The SpecC is very similar to the Type25 - 2.5 litre engine, twin scroll turbo. I'm not familiar with the STi, since it's not a designation we get.

I think that an option to go to lighter weight parts is also a nice consideration. The weight differences mattered a lot in Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3. Your basic metal choice was FRP (don't know what that stands for), urethane, and dry carbon. To me, I think one option you can use when using a racing mod is the option of carbon fiber parts in natural color or colored (I think natural color in TXR3 meant lesser weight than painted). The weight differences will be enhanced. But to me, it would be a good option.

I'm sick of hearing "rice" even though I mentioned that word in an earlier thread. I don't think any body kits that contain parts to "ugly up" a car will be in GT4. I think GT4 is more on racing, not on tacky kits. "Hey John, I thought you liked art. You snitching on us or something?" What I'm saying is that... well, I tend to agree with Solid Lifters. I think it would be cool to come up with such body kits, but only if they don't seriously take away from the car's looks. An example would be the Honda Accord sedan in GT2. The racing mod had a nice DTM look to it, I actually liked it. Made it look more powerful. It's a weird idea to give a wagon some new bodykits, but for those who attempt such tuning, I'm not hating. Anyhow, I don't think that any (and I'm going to impersonate a "rice rocket" hater) "already ugly cars made uglier by ugly body kits" will be in Gran Turismo 4. I think if a body kit made for GT4 will improve its looks and actually compliment high-horsepower tuning, then I say bring on the body kits. But if you cannot have body kits, then carbon fiber body parts are a great consideration.

I still stay true to the ENGINE SWAP option. You may want to upgrade to a stronger engine, a lighter engine, or maybe a more enduring engine, while making as much horsepower as possible. If a 1968 Mustang will be in GT4, I think the badboys of muscle car horsepower here in America will want to invest in crate motors which provide more horsepower to dominate in racing. I mean, how do you horsepower lovers feel about swapping engines? Question is, where in the Tune Shop will there be space to perform an engine change? I'd say that if it's engine related, it should go under the "Engines" category. And like I said in my "Menu and Presentation Considerations" topic, I think when you go to "engines, you can choose between N/A and Turbo engine parts. A supercharger would work for non-turbo engines and should be a nice option for engine tuning.

But in the world of tuning, there are limiltless modifications to tickle one's fancy. So, keep thinking of cool tuning stuff to be implemented into GT4.
