A branch of gamestores in Belgium has had the special edition on preorder for like a year or more. Suffice to say they have closed the preorders for that a long time ago.
Went to one of their shops today and they confirmed that they're all sold out. (pre-orders sold out lol)
I could preorder the special edition in case someone doesn't pick up his copy of the game, but that's a remote chance.

Finally, So 2 of the cars were the Mclaren f1, Mercedes SLS. What were the others?

Yep, so far there's only a picture of the SLS. The other 2 known cars (from GTP news blog, but no pictures) are McLaren F1 and Nissan GT-R GT500. I suspect the 4th car is the TVR Tuscan we've seen from the trailer, but who knows...

Kyosho's Ferrari models in 1:43 are some of the nicest you can buy.

Don't know how long that has been up there though, but the release date looks to be chosen on the safe side of 2nd November. So the text could be added today for all I know.

With preorders online, like amazon, you can cancel the preorder any time and not loose any money right up until the item is ready for dispatch right?

Also they don't debit your card until they are ready to ship the item?

It should be in one colour if it has a full CF body. But yeah the GT banner on the windscreen should be coloured. I think I can see the front brake calipers are coloured orange/brown though.

The fact i can't find the collectors edition listed on any major US store shows that whatever store he went to is full of crap. I would guess there will be some more info on it in the coming days, like the price for instance and than the actual pre-orders for it will start.

Preorders for GT5 have started more than a year ago
And Gamemania is one of the biggest chain of gaming stores here in Belgium, or at least Flanders.
They probably knew, or anticipated that there was going to be a special edition, so they have let people pre-order it.

There is a distinction between the Collector's edition cars and the pre-order cars.



The Collector's edition comes with a voucher for 5 DLC cars. So first off, this is confirmation that GT5 will have DLC. All it will mean is, you get download 5 of them for free with the voucher you get with the game. At least that is how I interpret it, the article did not state whether these cars would be exclusive to Collectors edition owners, or if they would be available as regular DLC, but given free in exchange for the voucher that CE owners get with the game.

If you pre-order the game (Regular or CE) you will recieve an exclusive car pack, with 'Stealth livery' tuned cars. These are for the pre-order, whereas the others are for the Collector's edition only.



If you want the Collector's edition though, You're probably going to have to pre-order, so you'll end up with both. But don't worry if you don't want to pay out for the collector's edition, you can still get the exclusive pre-order cars with the standard game (Providing you pre-order it, from a well known or 'participating' retailer...).

That makes perfect sense, but the GT5 site doesn't seem to be that way. Now I'm confused.

I was able to preorder the CE through Gamestop.com, even though they weren't able to do a preorder in the store just yet (I will eventually change my preorder to in-store, I just am really trying to be on the safe side).

And I am going to go ahead and offer to buy and ship (on your dollar, of course) NTSC copies of GT5 to anyone in Europe while they wait for the PAL version. PM me if you are interested, I am doing it as a courtesy and will not take extra payment.

I wish we knew which store offered which pre-order bonus car. So far we know amazon will give the SLS which is a bummer since I was going to use amazon.

I'd rather stick with what we know for now about the free cars. I don't see them offering 2 GT-Rs, though with Kaz's involvement, it could happen
