How good is gamestop about getting the games shipped to people on the release date? I might just end up pre ordering at my local store if there's a chance I'll be getting the game 2-3 days late. Or are any other places taking pre orders yet?

Yes, but I doubt they'll tell you in time if you're out of luck and by then other stores will also be filled. I have no problem paying up front, I'm just weary that out of all stores, somehow gamestop got all their CE pre-order info ahead of everyone else.

They are the biggest video game retailer in the world now. I don't see why they wouldn't be the first.

I'm hoping either Best Buy or Amazon will have the CE for pre-order. If not, I guess I'll go to Gamestop.

Neither store's site has anything on the CE yet.

Based on pure store numbers alone, they ARE. Just because nobody is buying anything at your local store, doesn't mean they aren't making money elsewhere.

I'm not talking about one store. I don't have a GS around. I have maybe 5-6 within 20 miles.

I'm worried that the UK collectors edition is going to be stupidly more expensive (probably not a literal exchange of £67). Knowing are luck it will probably be £100!

So should I preorder a US copy and hold it just incase?? because I don't want to find the UK version being very expensive and then finding out all the US preorders are gone.

The GTAIV Limited Edition came in at £70 if I remember correctly, and that was quite beefy (included a fullsize safe deposit box and a bunch of other stuff). I'm hoping that this wont be all that much more.

We can put reasoned debate aside for a moment, and enjoy a few moments of hilarity. Taking the 🤬 out of Sony is something of a passtime.

Being serious though, I don't expect anything less than £70. £80 in my estimate. They never price these things on the exchange rate. Anyone who lives in Australia knows what i'm talking about, because they have it much worse than us here in the UK.

They've banned my 1st 360 during the MW2 banning raid. Either because I had an aftermarket HDD or because I tried to play a burned copy of the left 4 dead demo, a month before, on my 360. Did I mention the thing wasn't chipped?

Are you sure they are going to get the CE? I checked EB's website and they only have the standard edition for pre-order (at $118 no less ).

Probably they haven't updated their online database yet; but unless it's 100% confirmed it's still up in the air in my eyes...

So say in the coming months we get confirmation there won't be any CE for the AU market, I just change my order back to the regular one, and as a bonus I've already paid $30 meaning I won't have to pay as much when the game hits. If we DO get a CE, I'm guaranteed a copy. I don't know why their website doesn't show it, but the store definitely let me pre-order it. The guy at the counter knew all about the CE as well, and was pretty hyped about it himself hoping we get the "exact same" stuff as USA.

I went into EB games today and pre-ordered Gt5 Collectors Edition. I made special note to check the receipt and ask the cashier if i was going to get the collectors edition and they guaranteed it...

I tried Futureshop in Canada yesterday, they only had GT5 for pre-order, no collectors edition (yet) . They said depends on how many will be distributed/available in Western Canada.

yesterday i sent an e-mail to Game Mania Belgium asking to change my preorder to special edition, and they replied because i was so early with my preorder (okt 2009 ) that they automaticly changed mine to special edition. that's probably why they're already sold out in preorder.

But i'm not sure that special edition and collector's edition is the same though

I just pre-ordered the CE from Game Stop this morining, after tax the total came to $105.99 U.S.

For the UK folks, I sent an email to Game asking about the CE, and they replied saying that they have no plans to sock it as yet, although they may get some stock in after they get more information on the CE.

So it seems that they are waiting for more details on the PAL version like the rest of us.

although they don't know anything about it.. weird
