When I first saw the signature edition I was like wow but then I saw the price and I was like wow. I'll just stick with the CE.

I have to agree on this,is huge expensive and for true Gran Turismo fans is rather a huge business to make from a basic stuff,I mean a usb for $100 USD,that is just madness and a key chain for keys of a car that you probably don't have(well in some cases), I can say that the CE edition make sense but this is out of the scale(of prizing ).

The NTSC Collector's Edition seems like the best compromise. Car model, Chrome-Line cars, book, keychain, and whichever Stealth pre-order bonus you happen to get from your retailer. For $40 more than the standard game, it's actually understandable where the price increase comes from.

Swap out the GT-R model for an SLS, drop a USB key in, give a glossy book of pics from the game (which might be nice, but we could technically pretty much make ourselves with Photomode), a wallet, and a metal carrying case... oh, and an incredibly unlikely chance to win an SLS... and pay double the price.

I'm sorry I LOVE GT as a series and the time trial demo was close to driving nirvana in a game.... but for the price of the Sig Edition I'd rather buy a Wheel stand for £99 and the standard copy of the game
Really wanted the Sig and would of paid £100 - 120 tops

And that's what you should do. And I'll probably do the same but those who have the cash and the desire to own either the SE and CE (or both, or even all three different editions) can now fork out more money. Personally, I was hoping that PD was more sensible and produce just one edition so that all the GT fans are on equal footing. Well, at least they didn't call it the VIP edition.

Thats quite a dissapointment because we have to pay so much more if we want a GT special model car. I also like the GTR more.

The US collectors edition costs roughly £62 and that has the GTR.
The EU collectors edition costs £60... so for £2 more you get the model!

I might import from the US but will the DLC work on a UK PSN account (even if I go to the US store to get it)?

It depends on the game. For example Uncharted 2 has region locked DLC. I fell for this once, I bought the game in UK and since I'm using a euro account, I bought the DLC and it just didn't work because of the game code (region etc...).

As for other games (and it is usually most games) DLC is not region locked and you can buy it whenever you want the game will just recognize it and go with it.
Hopefully GT is in the most case scenario and not an exception since I want to import the US CE as well

EDIT: Belgium got shafted out of the competition too which I find really disappointing.

that is what i don't understand in Netherlands, Luxemburg and Lichtenstein, the regulations are less strict than in France and Germany for exemple. Netherlands was in the Academy, so a big WTF from me. I will gift SCEE a map of Europe with the respective regulations on Competitions

I will ask the eb staff ,in Auckland city, tomorrow if they know the price of the "Signature Edition".

Only know the price of the CE, which is $139.99 .

Also wanting a small 22" or 26" LCD screen for my small bedroom. Maybe buying a "Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Racing Wheel" for GT5, cause thats the only cheapest racing/driving wheel here in NZ so far.

Good news, the price went down automatically on my pre-order at Amazon!

They state in France, 2950 bonus codes, limited to 1 bonus per client.
At the moment they show the Honda NSX GT500 Stealth Model as pre-order bonus.

Not clear to me how I can verify the bonus is included in my pre-order.

I have also preordered the signature edition today, the guy in the store only knew about the collectors edition until I made him check his computer and to his suprise there was the signature edition, he was quite blown away to say the least.

Just as a note the US (SCEA) collectors (the only one that was officially announced until yesterday) edition still has the model (GTR). Any preorders that were taken in PAL territories were only guessing/assuming of it's contents based on the SCEA version which as we can ow see do not apply to us.

And $120 for normal version, but you can preorder for $90 from Gamelane online, including postage. Waiting to see if Gamelane will do a CE for $100

CE is only $10 more, so it's not too bad for the book, the DLC cars, dynamic PS3 theme and poster cards.

Just got a quote for the SLS from my insurance: that's 3.746 € a year plus 502 € in taxes. The insurance will go down every 6 or 12 months if there isn't an incident, but that's a whopping 4.248 € for the first year. And I'm a 35 yo male with a clean licence and a secure car park.

So why complain about 180 € for the SE?

I'm old-school and a bit of a fan boi. Wallet? Cool! Keychain? Extra cool! Picture book? Hell, I even liked to sniff them when you actually got a 200+ pages manual for a flight sim back in the 90s.

I'm going to buy a copy of GT5 once in my life-time. Don't think I'll get another NTSC copy second hand as I did with GT4 just to get progressive scan. I think GT5 does the already in the EU version.

So why endlessly complain about the price? Are there people willing to pay that kind of money? Yes. Does everyone necessarily care about the extras? No.

That's why there are three editions so everyone can chose the package which fulfils their needs or fits their budget best.

I'm just glad they didn't charge me per hour with GT4, that would have been hundreds of €s I owe PD by now.

You will have to create a us sub account (easy look at utube). And for getting money on the account you can either buy it of ebay or amazon, or ask someone here you trust to buy you one and email you the code...

But honestly, I don't think there will be any DLC apart from maybe the preorder cars. I think PD will need all the time to work on GT6. Update probably, but those will be automatic (like the spec's on prologue)

i was tempted to buy the CE NA but it cost me like 100bucks to import + customs.

What i need to know is what language the books are. I ordered in France. GT will be multi-language for Europe. But the booklet??
maybe change me CE from France to UK
