I reckon the track for the GT Academy competition will be either Silverstone as its where the winner would be racing in the European GT4 Cup race or the Spa Francorchamps track as its been speculated as well.
For US and Canadian its most likely to be the Indianapolis GP Circuit.

Guys, do you think, we'll be able to take screenshots?

That would be so great. HD shots and videos!

ahah... i wish... i wish... :scared:

I sure hope so, it would give many players first hand use (assuming they don't already have a game like Tekken 6) of those features.

The GT5: Prologue demo from the Japanese Store was also removed after a month or so and i can still fire it up, just like GTHD Concept.

EDIT: By the way, if i see one American complain again i will freak out.
Everyone will be able to play it, US and Canadian users just cant participate in the Academy but win tickets for the Indy 500.
This is not directed at anyone here but i get annoyed how often i have to read "we Americans cant play it" which is false.

For me I want to compete worldwide, so if all we get is a trip to Indy, no thanks. I want the world competition But it is odd that Japan isn't listed either

Agreed, it would be great for the GT Academy to be a world wide event. I think that's all anyone was complaining about... As others have said, a trip to Indy is alright, a chance at becoming a racing driver through a game is just awesome. Wouldn't you be less than thrilled if Germany was excluded? Hopefully the next GT Academy will be open to United States, Canada and other North American countries. Who would not want a chance to make it into the GT Academy?

So does anyone have pics or a track map of the Indy GP Circuit?

Edit: FIRST!

I want Spa circuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It"s much better track than Indy(indy is also good track but spa is the best track on world!!!!):sly:

Ok, so I gotta train on fm3's silverstone. God I wish I could use the wheel :scared:...

Should I have just had to explain to someone in the US PlayStation Blog's comments that the Indy 500 is not a NASCAR event?

I noticed that too, makes me wonder if they are even aware of what it is.

who cares? the fact is that we're getting a free demo after paying through our noses for yet another demo..

Jerome

The most likely reason is to cut down on costs of the players having to commute all the way to Silverstone.
Plus probably because its all organised by SCEE rather than SCEA or whoever and for whatever reason the other regional Sony companies don't want to spend the money or can't find a race team to join up with to do it.

I may actually attempt this time, Eiger wasn't my best track for time trials, so I feel I have better chances at Indy or even Spa or Silverstone as I'm familiar with all 3 in other games and I'm not too bad in time trial at each.

Thats because this is actually a demo and Prologue was a full game. Is it so hard to distinguish between the two? Prologue had far more content than almost all demos.

I also see that the complaining in this sub forum hasn't gone away yet.

I also wonder if the 370Z will be adjustable/tunable or if they will just have it preset and that's it?

In the 1st GT Academy there was no tuning. I suppose the theory is that they are trying to find the best drivers not car tuners.

RHOO!!! you guys are getting all mixed up... the wait has made you gone mad...

Once and for all.. let's make this clear...
hopefully in a language that everyone here can understand...

if we draw the analogy of this game to a car:
GT5-P = Prototype
GT5 demo (the SAME demo for everyone on the 17th) = Final Car available for TEST Drive
GT5 (Spring 2010) = Final Car available for purchase...

Get it now??!

👍 if any tuning at all, it would be very minimal... same as found in any of the TT from GT5-P... they have to keep it fair for everyone somehow...

Freaking demo on the way! No GT Academy here unfortunately... BUT THE DEMO WILL BE FINALLY HERE!!!

Anybody else notice the directional A048 tires on the Z are going the wrong way?

What do you mean by "wrong way"? You mean the 'arrows' should be pointing down?
