I'm new to this site. I'm not a huge gamer but I do enjoy the GT games. I've been looking forward to GT5 since I first heard about it. But I'm shocked at how this release has been handled.

Is it common for game releases to be bungled so badly? I'm trying to figure out why Sony is acting (or not acting, as the case may be) this way and I can't come to any solid conclusion. This situation is SHOCKING!!
 
Guys a couple of days ago we were really confident at the 24th release for the US, however due to the fact we have had no new vids to keep us entertained we all start to think again and we think the worst possible, guys relax gt5 will be soon, nothing has changed since we guessed 26th, we even saw a bloomin sony release date board, GT5 is coming and soon.

You people really are incredible, what makes all those shops more trustworthy than Sony themselves? Do you honestly think the biggest PS3 title yet will magically appear in stores, 10 days before the launch party (supposedly) happens, as everyone has been waiting for an announcement from Sony for weeks? Please.

Yeah, I would think that some/most people on the board would like to believe it. Why wouldn't they? It's not like Sony's track record on this game is outstanding.
 
Thinking about the Date for the Madrid thing and the Red Bull X-1 Presentation , i'd be really suprised if the Game came out before then

There again maybe someone at Sony is related to one of the Admirals who Attacked Pearl Harbour and that was a Sneak Early Release........sort of :dopey:

Anyone have updates on that Sony conference people mentioned that was supposed to go on at 230?
 
Don't people here have things to do today other than wait for GT5's new release? Lol.

That would be true for GTP, but imagine the rage over at eyepetsonline.com, when hit by a delay like the one for GT5... :)
 
BMO Conference... only ref to GT5 is size. "not gonna see much content like GT5 with 50Gb, which will be coming soon".

So far... rest is just PSN stuff.

So far, the only thing that has been related to GT5 is a digital streaming gaming. She mentions that games like GT5 and LBP2 won't be able to be digitally streamed while playing due to the current PS3 infrastructure.

Thats about it so far, I'm still listening in.

I wouldnt say that. I picked up StarCraft II on a tuesday and a few other games were released on a tuesday here in Ireland in the past six months.

Probably the ones with simultaneous global releases. Starcraft and halo and such.

Pre ordered with HMV in Crawley today. Still say the 1st December but with no release date they'll stick with that until an official release date is confirmed. Also get 2 steath cars and one is an R8 V10 (which is one of my favourite cars).

Sigh, this back and fourth regarding release dates are getting old. We know nothing. Retailer dates means nothing. I don't care who indiangamer is. It isn't Sony. It could be tomorrow. It could be on Monday, it could be by the time Justin Bieber grows facial hair. But we don't know. What we do know is the following:

"Also, GT5’s big Madrid launch party has a new date of November 24th/25th. As you may recall, the launch party was first scheduled for October 26th/27th. Considering the party was to be held exactly one week before the game’s intended worldwide launch, a release during the week of November 29th – December 3rd is beginning to look extremely likely."

We also know that the game has gone gold, there are copies out there already, so the release date can't be that far off. We also know that the gran-turismo.com sais November(Atleast the EU one does).

Now, I don't see the point in having a launch party way before(Or after!) the game is released. So we can assume that the release will either be right before, or right after the launch party. However, I do agree with y'all, that it IS weird that PD/Sony hasn't given us a proper release date yet. I do believe this may be caused by the following

[Warning. Speculation starts here. The only factual part of this post is found above.]

1) The game has encountered some problem in some way, and PD/Sony is not sure they can fix it in time for the expected date. (Launch Party/November). As they are unsure about this, they will refrain from publishing a release date, cause no matter how many times they've done it, another delay would've been hilarious.

2) The game is ready and they are trying to release it as fast as they can. However, due to numerous delays and embarrassment, they are afraid of setting a date because if they fail to meet it, hilarity will ensue.

Somebody needs to go all commissar over Sony's PR staff*. This stonewalling is just unacceptable, and whatever goodwill I got back after the gold announcement has run out.

I don't play online but if everyone races to race and not make a derby out of the game, I just may have to play online as well after some serious practice with my g27. Also, can anyone identify the track they are on. It look like a blast. Looks like Daytona Road Course Reverse.

I'm just glad it's not being released at the same time as world of warcraft, can you imagine the lines #1, and #2, can you imagine 40 pissed off people wanting their copy of gran turismo at each gamestop lined up behind 100s of people talking about which server they're on and the best way to set up their characters? my ears would be bleeding :lol: No pun intended towards any of you that play it, but some of them get soooooooo carried away, To each their own tho, a lot of us are like that with gran turismo, but at least blizzard can set a date and release it on time haha.

Games in Europe always hit the shops on Thursday! Was always so will be always like this and oh well 25 is a Thursday so don´t think they will have it this Monday or something was going very wrong....oh wait...

The launch party could be held after the game is released if that's the only other time they could re-schedule the party. It's also not unheard of to have a launch party a week after the release. However, the 23rd makes a lot of since. The launch party would be only a day after it. And the 30th makes since as it's a week after the party....But the 16th is smelling good, too. And it's not like release dates haven't been announced a day or so before a game was released.
