This right here is a major problem.

Only 11 NASCAR cars to choose from, and to make matters worse there are two Dale Earnhardt Jr. cars in that race. What was the purpose of getting the license if we can't even race a 16 car race with 16 different NASCAR cars? Would it have required that much effort to conjure up some fake PD-sponsored NASCAR cars to at least fill the field out? It appears that you can't even expand the field to 16 even if you wanted too. For a game that prides itself on realism, this NASCAR portion is anything but that. Its about as far from NASCAR as you can get. They bragged and bragged about having NASCAR in the game, yet they didn't serve the sport justice at all. Forget the 2 tracks issue, thats not even relevant at this point. At least we can create some ovals if we want to.

Note to PD, don't make the effort to acquire licenses if your not going to put effort into them.

I agree with you, they didn´t even modelled a single Charger. Not even Kurt Busch!

Also, if they modelled a car from a certain team, all they had to do to have all the cars from that team is to model the paint scheme.

Examples:

They have a RPM car (Almendinger), so they could have Almirola, Menard and Sadler

They have a Roush car but Biffle, Ragan and Kenseth are missing.
Same goes for Hendrick and Martin, Red Bull and Speed, and Stewart Haas and Newman.

I would hope also for yellow flags and 16 cars. Video showed neither. (guy crashes and we should have a yellow).

It was a shoe in, not exactly a good implementation.

Unless GT mode show us a huge surprise.

* Engine: gas turbine, 1483bhp @ 15,000RPM, 527lb ft @ 12,000RPM
* Transmission: continuously variable, rear-wheel drive
* Top Speed: 249mph
* Weight: 545kg
* Length/Width/Height: 4750/2180/980mm
* Suzuka Lap Time: 1:11.540 (compare with Vettel’s 2009 F1 lap time of 1:30.833)
* Special Features: enclosed wheels, “fan element” to increase low and medium-speed downforce (much like a vacuum cleaner)

That is actually incorrect info. That is based on the first edition of the X1. The final specs say it's top speed is 279mph.

Its possible they couldn't get the sponshorship licenses for the other cars. And too from what I remember the interiors of the Nascar COT's are accurate to each driver and shouldn't be the same.

Exactly!! Why couldn't you have, say, Mark Martin, when his 3 Hendrick teammates are in? It doesn't make sense. Eutechnyx, who is developing NASCAR 2011, managed to grab 40+ drivers for its game, and doesn't have NEARLY as much clout as PD has. From what we've been shown, PD's NASCAR offering looks utterly incomplete, and its a shame, because they made it out to be more than it really is.

If that was the case then why couldn't they just add 5 PD-sponsored cars to round the field out (think PD's Formula GT)? They dropped the ball, and the only way they can fix it is to release a NASCAR Themed DLC pack.

Cool, guess I missed that. 👍

it should've been changed on gtplanet..that's the top speed it would've done if not for Adrian's help. Read the story from the link, it's a good read

because no one cares about NASCAR except Americans.

i'm pretty sure the Europeans and Japanese who will buy this game won't even bother with that.

F1 and WRC are where it's at. sorry guys, i know how you love turning left for 300+ laps. 'bu...bu...but teh G-force, NASCAR is difficult! and it takes so much skill'. sure. and i'm Batman. kidding aside, G-force doesn't really apply in video games, so you're just there with your driving wheel turning left for 2 hours. brilliant.

Why? They're only missing The Dodge Charger NASCARs and that wouldn't be that hard to add.

If they do a NASCAR pack, I'd rather have the Mustang, Challenger, Camry and Impala SS Car of Tomorrows.

that's just a bit ridiculous. it should accelerate fast, but with 1500 horsepower and THAT much downforce, it shouldn't be able to climb past about 220.

Thats what is great about it being a "Fan Car". It creates more downforce for the slower corners allowing you to go around them faster, while allowing for little downforce for high top speed.

I'm American and I really don't care about Nascar, however it goes both ways. There are a lot of cars/tracks that I don't care about that others, mainly Europeans complain about. I just choose not to comment, whats the point?

That would be awesome.

I was also expecting at least one classic car Dale´s #3 Goodwrench would be a good pick.

I would buy this DLC pack.

I don't know the details but couldn't the fan be physically blocked when going in a straight line? You could have variable downforce then.

The fan sucks the air out from under the car causing a low pressure area under the car and that creates the downforce.

Well they have the Nascar license, it should cover all that.

The seats might be different, but that´s the only thing they have to model. The base model is the same for each team.

At least they could give us different paint jobs for the cars they put in, so you wouldn´t get the same car twice.

Large amounts of downforce don't necessarily imply large amounts of drag. Especially if this uses active ground effects to achieve said downforce.
