Don't spoil anything. What you can or can't do, story, nothing!

Rockstar plans on release much new content ovr the next few weeks and months. The marketing campaign has begun.

Also, IGN has been show many new details on the game and they are planning on releasing some information to the public.

Also, IGN have something for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V up their sleeves.

Rockstar Games online representative said that there will be more artworks over the coming weeks and months.

“You can expect to see more artworks over the coming weeks and months – stay tuned to the Newswire.” said R* K.

Meanwhile, IGN have something to show as well.

“We will have much more info on the game very soon, so stay tuned”.

We guess Rockstar is stepping the gas pedal now, the next 5 months will be of a massive marketing campaign, if all the rumors of the money spent on it are true it needs to be colossal.

You just need to pay attention to how things are happening, first the rumors about “more info very soon” by a few sources, then Rockstar gives 10 unexpected screenshots, the week after shows the Box Art, it’s safe to assume that the campaign has started and will be increasing each week more and more.

And IGN had “VIP treatment” with Bioshock, they were allowed to reveal information of it before anyone else, so we bet they know exactly what they’re talking about, the same way they know a lot more then they tell and the reason why they were one of the first websites to create a PC section for GTA V in their page and which still exists there today.

A few companies are aware of Rockstar plans and they know “it will blow soon”, Rockstar always made their marketing campaigns for 5 to 6 months before releases, so it’s the right time to start it.

I don't really like What Culture, but this a good read regardless.

I love the combination of "Rockstar" & "mass marketing campaign".

That's not to say Rockstar won't be doing anything more than what they have, but they're not exactly "mass" anything in regards to marketing up until the last month. Until that point, Rockstar has always been more of a developer to just release random info out of the blue & then go back to work. Which is nice since it keeps everyone on their toes without Rockstar having to release anything that will start to unwrap parts of the storyline to keep us interested. That last month is when they make sure they have our attention up to release with commercials & previews.

I'd expect the same as we've been getting; aforementioned artwork & tidbits of info with some extra little viral marketing & ads placed in Los Angeles.

Great more artwork only :grumpy:? I would rather see a map :p.

I don't want to see the map. I've been thinking about this today and I remembered that one of my favourite things in past GTA's is when you unlock the next island. It was always a great feeling when you finally get to go to the next area and take a look around (even though it only took around two hours to do in vice city).

Since the map is going to be open from the beginning, I want as much of it as possible to be a surprise. As a matter of fact, when the game finally releases, I may stick to the story for around ten hours or so before exploring so the bulk of the map can be introduced to me as Rockstar intended. I'm sure there will be some "wow" moment when you're dumped in the middle of nowhere for the first time or you get to see what's on the other side of the mountain for the first time.

I don't want to spoil all that for myself by driving around in the first few hours. I'm sure the map will be released at some point and if not, I'll probably have a good look at things in the in game map but the less I know now, the better.

I understand what you mean. I, neither, what the content spoiled, but a zoomed-out map - to show the size only - would be good.

I wouldn't mind them showing parts of the map off, but even with the detail removed, it can still be a bit of a giveaway. For example, you'll still be able to spot the airports (and we don't know how many there are yet). I think it would just ruin too much if they released it early. Some eagle eyed gamer with good knowledge of the area will piece it all together and spoil it for everyone.

San Andreas' map was unveiled in stages prior to the game's launch. I'm 99% certain that GTA:IV's map was revealed before release too. I think it's far too early to show off GTA:V's map. We still have five months to go. Maybe a few weeks prior to release would be fine. Either way, I'll most likely steer clear of any spoilers and info close to the release.

I agree 100%. As much as I hated having to unlock the next part of the map, it got me into the story and it felt great FINALLY being able to explore that area.

I wont be coming to this thread once the game comes out. Just incase someone ruins the story.

I agree. But knowing me I'll probably be tempted to have a few peaks.

Everyone should just use the spoiler tags, to make sure, nothing seeks out unintentionally.
Why are you reading this? There's nothing to see here.

Are you searching for anything? - Just avoid spoilers…

The emoticons can give it away too. Example:

I can't believe that Trevor betrayed Micheal. :(

So just by seeing the sad face, I can tell something bad/sad happens.
Gentlemen, we must ban emoticons in this thread. :p

At least in the spoiler-text :p.

Did he really betray him <surprised>?! - That could work... I think.

I agree.

STOP WITH THE SPOILERSSSSS

Also, interesting idea I saw on Reddit regarding Ghettos. Would very much like people trying to rob your car from you while driving through them at gun point and then getting in a fight.

Just out of curiousity, did they release a map for GTA IV, San Andreas, etc?
Before the release, no, not officially. What did happen were the maps from the case/strategy guides being leaked to the web.

That's a strong possibility again.

On another subject, don't remember seeing this shot before, but again, the lighting system has gotten amazing.

That shot was part of the last batch of 10 screens Rockstar released a week and a half ago.

Yep, that's what I figure will happen. Pictures and such will spread like a wild fire hours after release. I'll probably just do as F1 Fan is doing and try to stay oblivious to it. Emphasis on try. :sly:

And am I the only one reminded of Just Cause 2's lighting when looking at the above screenshot?

I like the emphasis on the haze in the sky. The orange haze is back!!!!

=P

Erm, right. I just didn't get why you said the 'orange haze was back' when there really isn't much of that at all in the GTA V screenshot.

For the most part it was because IGN said it was (or was it Game Informer) and some of the pictures you can see it (like in the one a few posts above this) off to the side a bit. Granted, it is not NEARLY as bad as San Andreas was.

Though I kind of liked it.

I sure didn't! Made things too dark.

That depended on where you were, and what you were doing. I don't know, just something about it made me remember that game.

Maybe you remember it by being "The Only GTA where Sunsets make Everything Appear Almost-Black." :p
