Cars for the N24 are the Audi R8 for GT3, C spec, Kia optima and the 2016 mazda mx-5.

I did read that a while a go... must have forgotten. :irked:

Let me know what you guys decide... I may be tempted to buy a car too. :)

God help you all.

Maldonado458 (myself) is joining the team.

I do need help learning how to drive, can someone spare a few hours this afternoon or evening to help? I'm planning on using the team just as a learning experience (don't count me in as an official driver), but hopefully I can pick up a few skills from you guys... (damn you Formula Renaults)

I might be able to make some of the other team races this year if you guys want to try and do some. Just have to check the dates.

I added you to the team the other day when I logged on. I don't mind at all getting on one night and doing some laps with you offering some tips. Just during the spring and summer months Im just not on as much and at random times. I could hop on one night eastern time towards end of this week.

24 Hours of Spa – August 6 – 7

Not sure what the schedule looks like for me that week-end as far as racin', but I'm always willing to help test and give feedback on sets.

Not sure what the GTP car preference is...in GT3 I have the BMW, Merc, and Audi. In my testing so far, imo I suggest the Merc for Spa (and other..). Especially for endurance racing the Merc has just proven to be more stable, great tire wear, and quicker over all. The BMW is lighter and has it's advantages, but top speed and over-all stability is lacking. The Audi is basically a tank comparably to both imo.

I also have the DP if that's the route GTP is planning. So again, willing to test, with fuel runs and give feedback, if needed, just let me know if or when a set is available for testing.

Edit: Apparently, Spa is GT3 only.

Is the DP going to be in Daytona again?

Also I need someone to teach me how to drive... again. @MadRR , you want to schedule a time we could do this? Food poisoning's not really helping out right now...

I'm sure the DP will be included in next years D24H.

Food poisening? Ouch, hope you get better SOON!!

Hey guys, never been in a team or done an endurance race before, currently getting practice in by doing Blancpain Sprint races. Would be keen to help out with an endurance race, especially Spa. I'm in Australia so could help out by doing odd time slots.

Won't promise I'll be super fast but I keep my nose clean. Would love to be involved with something like the 24h of spa. I have the track and I have the BMW, I'll buy any car required though if we are using something else. Is this a Blancpain Endurance race? I'm currently Class B.

Hey Punknoodle, It's one of the Official iRacing "special events" anyone w/ at least a Class D is eligable. iR thread with more info: http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3370378.page

BSS is great practice, no doubt! Endurance racing is a bit different, mainly because you want to be able to do a fuel run (about an hour). So learning to keep it together and take care of the tires is important.

Not sure of the level of xp from the others here at GTP in iRacing, but as far as worrying about pace isn't important when learning the ropes of endurance racing. Our goals at former team were to basically: 1. get to know each other 2. have fun 3. finish the race. and trust me, after say a 12 hour race, as we did at Sebring...finishing is a win - P5 was a bonus!

I strongly recommend, if you are able, pick up the Mercedes. It's real forgiving, stable and w/ a decent set has good pace. Some of my former team mates did a superb job w/ it in the 6 hours of Watkins Glen after converting to the Merc from the BMW. And personally I've been quicker everywhere w/ the Merc than the BMW. Sebring is close between the two, for me, but the stability of the Merc equal less inc/danger of a spin.

I added you guys to the team. It's been a few days since I've been on. I won't be able to make the Spa race because the league I race in has a big race that week so I'll be doing that if I have the time.

@Mike458 Yeah I can get on and do some laps with you sometime. In the evening time is when I'm on. Do you have a mic? I'll likely be online later in the week if your around.

I do have a mic, currently doing Proto/GT with the Aston and the Ford (Currently using the Ford at Silverstone... it was hell and I hate historic silverstone)

Is someone going to organise a team to enter the 24? As I say, I'm really keen to be involved so if we can organise something it would be fantastic.

On a side note, I have a mic but I've never used it in iRacing. How do you do it? Is it push to talk?

Since we are in the same team we should be able to put it to the team channel and chat and if not I got a team speak we can use.

I will likely be on some over the weekend. I havent really done any laps in anything particular on the road side to much lately. One thing I would advise is to maybe just pick 1-2 cars and stick with them. If your already having a bit of a tough time jumping from car to car isn't going to help. If you stick with 1-2 cars it's much easier to get up to speed and be consistent which is the most important part.

For the 24hr of Spa I won't be able to make it but if you guys want to get some people together race go ahead. I likely won't be able to do any endurance events until closer to winter. I just don't have he time to put the effort in that's required right now during real race season.

For your mic you need to setup a push to talk button. I have mine set to a button on my wheel.

I'm still learning the Aston... at low speeds it is absolutely murderous if you go anywhere near the power, it's a fine line to find the limit of grip before you lose it all due to understeer. I'm splitting my time around 90%/10% in favor of the Aston to the Skippy. The Ford is my backup car in case I find any circuit too difficult with the Aston.

Would anyone be interested in sharing a shorter BES race with me so I can get used to driver swaps, team radio etc as a bit of practice?

By the way, I'm trying to establish a team for the Daytona 24 Hours (Sorry for the early planning, but I need all of the time in the world to prepare for this race). Anyone interested in this? (my iRating is still only 1445 at the moment, not great, need help)

I'd definitely be keen for this. My name on iRacing is Nicholas Winsor.

Added to Friend Requests. Do you have a Skype? If so, PM me and I'll add you.
I don't have Skype, no, but I can download it if necessary. Just accepted your friend request on iRacing. Do you know anyone else keen to do the Daytona 24H?

I will for sure be doing the Daytona 24hr again. We have done it the last 2 years. It's been the same 3 of us the last 2 years with Jav the first time and my buddy Stefan last year. I'm sure more people will be interested and posting about it when time gets closer. Maybe we can have enough to run 2 teams next year so us guys that have done it the past 2 years can be on one team and you newer guys to the team can be on another.

It's fine to do some laps to get used to doing full fuel runs and how the car reacts but I wouldn't bother doing any hardcore practicing this early. By time the race gets here we will have 2 updates and likely V7 tires and different track evolution and possibly even day to night transitions. Any setups you do now likely won't be any good with the v7 tires plus we don't know what cars they plan on using or what car is the fastest to use.

Accepted, please download Skype, because that is my main form of communication. I am currently in Arizona at the moment and will be unable to race on iRacing (which is still broken) for about 3 weeks or so.

Add me if you want to join us, here's my Road License at the moment:

Not brilliant.

My wheel is dying and my sub ran out, so I'm a no sadly. Best of luck guys!

What lap times are you guys running? Would be interested in helping out.

I haven't had any time to practice yet. After I made that post I haven't been feeling well. I plan on practicing this week at some point so I'll post up lap times once I do. Your welcome to join. I know it's going to take me a little bit to get up to speed here because I haven't done any laps here since my console days 6 years ago lol.
