I am very interested, but can no commit to it just yet...

That sounds good.

I know it's a bit short notice but me and Stefan are planning on practicing tomorrow night, Tuesday, around 9pm eastern time. I was planning on hosting a private session if you guys want to join.

Session name, Team gtp practice
Password, gtp

Just saw your post now, sorry it took me so long to check back.

We are planning on using the HPD. Me and Stefan practiced the other night in that session but I haven't had time to get on since. Plan on practicing this week maybe some tonight. Got a setup off the forums that's not to bad with a couple tweaks. I can post it up when I get back on my racing pc.

I thought I could upload the setup here in the thread but looks like I'm not able to. You guys can send me your email and I can email to you. Race fuel with default weather, afternoon and 20% track rubber I've done 3:37's but I know there is more in it as I don't think Ive hit the back section clean yet. Haven't had as much time to practice as I would like yet but should be able to get on about every night this week and do some full fuel runs to see about how long it takes.

I'm also going to try and post up the race schedule tomorrow evening. I'll start out the race and don't mind doing 3 hour stints and I'm available for the whole day. Stefan is good to about 3 pm then after 8pm. The race room opens at 9 am eastern and it looks like a 1 hour warm up so assuming the race will actually start at 10 am. That's the way I understand it at least.

Here is the preliminary race schedule. You guys just let me know what stints you can do and we can work out the rest. I'll break down the stints in 2 hour increments for now and I'll do 3 hour stints and Stefan likely will later when he can start back at 9pm. I'll just leave me for the first stint for now until I hear from you guys then I can fill in for 2 more 3 hour stints when necessary and adjust the schedule. Im just assuming a full tank of fuel last 1 hour but I plan on getting on Tuesday night and running at least 1 tank all the way through just to see. Also me and Aderrrm are plan on practicing Wednesday afternoon at some point for anyone else that could make that with the time still TBD.

Race room opens 9:00 am eastern time with the race starting at 10:00 am eastern. All times below in eastern time.

10am - 1pm - MadRR, Jason Williams3
1pm - 3pm - SMarinak, Stefan Marinak
3pm - 5pm - Aderrrm, Adam Suswillo
5pm - 8pm - MadRR, Jason Williams3
8pm - 12am - SMarinak, Stefan Marinak
12am - 2am - MadRR, Jason Williams3
2am - 4am - ?
4am - 6am - Aderrrm, Adam Suswillo
6am - 8am - ?
8am - 10am - Aderrrm, Adam Suswillo

I can do 3pm - 5pm and 4am - 10am Eastern.

That sounds good. I'll go ahead and put you in the 3-5pm slot and for the 4-10am did you want to do all that or 1-2 stints? I don't imagine you want to do 6 straight hours lol.

Edit: Just talked to Stefan and his times are set. He'd rather do a 4 hour stint rather than 3, 2 hour. I can take the 12-2am for my last if @Aderrrm and @Punknoodle can switch off on the early morning stuff. Just let me know.

I just meant I can do any stint between 4 and 10. :)

If me and Punknoodle do the early morning stints it leaves some awkward time slots for Jav to run.

Ok yeah that's what I figured. I'll give punknoddle until later or tomorrow to see what he's able to do then go from there. Haven't heard anything from Jav other than his last post.

Can you still practice tomorrow afternoon? How about 3:30 pm eastern time? Was thinking I'll host a hour session for us passworded and maybe after we can hop in a official session since it's setup for teams and maybe just do a timed lap or two and a driver swap if you haven't done a driver swap yet to see how it all works.

I don't mind doing 2 stints in the morning as long as they're not back to back. if Punk or Jav can't race.

I'm still down for later. That sounds good. 👍 I've done a few driver swaps before but that was over a year ago.

Ok that works I'll update the schedule and we can figure out the rest. Just plan on 3:30 eastern time today then for practice. I'll host a session with the same details as before. Session name team gtp practice with the password being gtp. I'll see what the time of day and weather is in the official server as I've just been practicing on default.

@Aderrrm just wanted to let you know running a few minutes late so I'll host the session at 4:00 eastern if that's ok.

That's cool, I've sent you a friend request.

I ran a 3:38 with the default setup on my first hot lap, your setup feels quicker but I'm struggling to match it somehow aha.

Hey guys sorry I've been quiet, I've been a little sick last couple of days. I'm happy to do the 6am stint as that is 8pm here which suits as I'll probably finish work around 4pm that day..

Do you think you might could start at 5am? If so I'll have to see if Aderrrm,Adam could maybe do an extra hour and we split the 2-4am split but I'm unsure if he could be available at 3am because he's said all along 4am + is what he would be able to do.

I'm just not sure if I could go from 12am-4am after doing the 2, 3 hour stints earlier. If it was during the day then likely so but unsure being that late and also starting at 10am. Also I'm unsure if you would meet the fair share requirement only doing 1, 2 hour stint and I would hate for us to get DQ'd that far into the race for something like that.

Another thing I should have checked on before now but only thought of it last night is the license requirements. It seems we are good though as you just have to be a D license for endurance events.

Sorry, this is my first time so I was unsure of the rules. I'm happy to do more for sure, just have be able to fit in in somewhere.

I'm in Qld, so my time zone is AEST (no daylight savings).

I'll be leaving for work at 6am my time (3pm EST) and getting home around 5pm my time (2am EST).

I'm happy to do more as I say, if that means I have to get in a stint early in the morning before I got to work, like say 1pm EST which is 4 in the morning here, and then I can go anywhere from realistically 3 or 4am est after work.

Does this help?

Btw, I hold an A class licence.

No problem. The way I understand it the fair share works like this. For example if there is 4 of us then the total laps is broken down in 4 parts and you have do 10% of your part. There is a lap counter in your lap time black box that turns green once you've completed your share. Usually for the Daytona 24hr 2 hours is enough so I would assume it would be the same here but 3 hours would be safe.

If you could do just a hour at 3am that would work. I could do 12am-3am then you 3am-4am then Adam could do 4am-6am as planned and then you could come back for 6am-8am then Adam finishing off 8am-10am. I'm assuming a full fuel run is a hour like at Daytona but honestly I haven't had a chance to do one yet. I'll either get one done tonight and report back here or tomorrow night at the latest. Of course we need to do the driver swap when pit stops are needed.

Far as license go we are all good. You just have to be D license and above and we all meet that.

Ok so just to confirm, 6pm till 7pm my time, then 9pm till 11pm my time? That will work. I'll have to get some practice in, especially some night time running.

Yep that looks right based on the time change you just posted. For sure get as much practice as possible as keeping the car 100% is most important. The back side of the track in those high speed sections can be tricky. That was the biggest difference in the first time we did the Daytona 24 compared to this last time. First time car got damaged early and we were down on power the whole time nearly and barely finished top 20 then this last year we had a clean car the whole time and finished 6th.

There is no day/night transition yet. The time of day of the race is just afternoon the whole time with the default weather. You can practice in the official servers and that will be the same as the race.

Well I was about to practice some but my internet is out. This is the only thing that worries me about doing late night stints in these 24hr races. They do maintenance late at night like this pretty often. I was even going to mention something about it earlier and of course now it's been out about 25 mins. :banghead: 🤬

What you posted sounds good @MadRR. I managed 13 laps on a full tank last night. At an average time of 3:45 a lap (taking into account pit stop) that's 49 minutes. So not quite an hour.

So, do we need to set up a team? How does this work, as I'm not a member of any teams.

I think I've seen you've sent an invite to GTPlanet A, I'll see if it lets me accept your invite tonight. Otherwise someone else might be able to in the meantime.

You have our own team as well which iRacing sets up for you, so you can join an official practice session without using the GTPlanet team. Just scroll down on the server list to the bottom few as you can only join a server which isn't already 30 (I think) minutes into the session, which is where I was going wrong the other day!

Ah yes ok, thanks . I tried to get on tonight but I had to leave it updating, thought I'd better update everything including the optional stuff as there may be a requirement for it on race day and would hate to have an update delay me.

I'll have a good practice tomorrow after work, hopefully get comfortable in the car. I won't be setting the world on fire with my times guys. . . My main priority will be bringing it in nice and straight for you to bring it in for the finish .

@Aderrrm thanks for the info. I was hoping it would be closer to an hour but oh well. We will possibly need to show up maybe 15 mins earlier then for our stints if possible because we need to try and do the driver swap when a pit stop is needed.

@Punknoodle I just added you to the team.

Alright guys looks like we are all ready to go. Another thing I wanted to add was that is if you don't have your pit limiter mapped to a button the default is the "A" key. Also if you guys are not using a mic at least have it on to where you can hear as I don't have my keyboard close by when I race so I always just use my mic. Long as you have the radio set to the team channel you should only hear me and I'm assuming that any messages you type only team members will be able to see. Here is the updated schedule and details.

Registration open at 8:30 am eastern with the race room starting at 9:00 am eastern time with a hour warm up so the race starts at 10:00 am eastern. All times below in eastern time.

10am - 1pm - MadRR, Jason Williams3
1pm - 3pm - SMarinak, Stefan Marinak
3pm - 5pm - Aderrrm, Adam Suswillo
5pm - 8pm - MadRR, Jason Williams3
8pm - 12am - SMarinak, Stefan Marinak
12am - 3am - MadRR, Jason Williams3
3am - 4am - Punknoodle, Nick Winsor
4am - 6am - Aderrrm, Adam Suswillo
6am - 8am - Punknoodle, Nick Winsor
8am - 10am - Aderrrm, Adam Suswillo

Hope you guys have a GREAT RACE!! Stay clean and drive your own race! ..it's a long one!!

And, yeah, no doubt, if you don't have your pit limiter mapped do it now and PRACTICE some with it!

I've been away from iR for awhile just logged in and see I've finally (lol) been approved for the GTPlanet Racing Team, Thanks!

I'll keep an eye on GTPlanet for possible future iR events in 17'.

Again, have a great race and hope you have a blast!!
