My bet is that we can expect to see something at least for the 20th anniversary of Senna's dead.
I would not imagine Kaz being disrespectful with Ayrton's legacy.
Having Interlagos in the cinematic intro, all the promotions they did on South America, they even included the image of him on the box so... yeah, that's my bet.
I'm wanting to believe that they are being more and more slower than they are used to be because of this.
I really want to trust them again, but for the first time ever I have my doubts.

I was having even doubts about they, achieving something so minimal as including subtitles. They promised to include spanish, english and more in the KAZ documentary... they never did until a few days, almost a month later.
I've asked about this and I got an answer (something rare). I took the chance, even if it's meaningless, to question about the updates... no answer yet.

Well, let's look on it from the bright side. At least GT6 is available in stores. Haven't seen a ps4 in Belgium since it got released:D

Also I'm wondering. The features we didn't get and were advertised on the box and/or GT website. Shouldn't we be able to get our money back? We're seriously ripped off, no matter how good the game is...

I think the word "abandoned" is not appropriately descriptive.

Perhaps, previously allocated capital and labor resources are now unavailable.
That could explain the loss of momentum for GT6.

Could also explain the lack of communications...
...in order to minimize exposure of past-pronouncements.

Hopefully, this is not the case...
...and a "golden" update will be found at the end of the rainbow. :)

Meanwhile, I will just try to keep improving my driving & lap times in all sims I do. :sly:

More signs seem to be pointing towards GT6 being abandoned since the PS4 is gathering strength and fans will be climbing the walls in anticipation of new racing games and potential VR compatibility with the Morpheus headset.

I bet if you all worked at PD, you would see why it takes so long to put these features in the game. ;)

Do you? So how can you know how long it takes? Also, they've had over three years, that's perfectly reasonable for most studios.

No need to panic.

It's annoying waiting for updates, I agree... but you know, japanese style. Stealth planning, working then BOOM, surprise.

Can't wait for the surprise. Damn.

Someone should tell all the other Japanese studios that communicate with their fans regularly they're doing it all wrong.

GT's physics engine is like a house of cards, every time they change something, another aspect breaks.

I believe they bit off more than they could chew trying to do so much on the antiquated ps3, and are struggling to accomplish everything they said they would with the limited resources.

So maybe they are focusing on GT7 on the PS4
I think PD is too much focusing on 2 games at once, they should focus on building up GT6 this year than work on GT7 next year. There is many things in GT6 that need patching or put on but this sorta news concerns me a little :(.
There doesn't seem to be much going on with the updates. They are neither producing DLC or other content or fixing the worst bugs, and seasonals don't seem to come along as often as they did with GT5, or for that matter, continue to with GT5. I clicked maybe, but I think the question is very plausible especially with the GT7 prologue rumours floating around this early. GT6 might wind up being the most half-baked version in the series of all time. Let's hope not.
The more I ponder this, the more baffled I get. Kaz wouldn't abandon GT6. But, like all Japanese workers, he's a loyal SONY employee. And SONY might consider GT6 to be a waste of resources.

There is that other thing though: this is the first time PD has been caught having to support three games at once. GT5 till May, and who knows how much they've been told to work on GT7? That has to matter.

February has passed, and March is mostly over. What if April is lean, too? If so, May is when it's going to hit the fan, especially if we get E3 leaks about Prologue. I'll quietly be biding my time, because as others have said, GT6 as it is will still give me stuff to do, fun stuff and a good race. And if Prologue is the new focus, and GT7 sometime after that, I'll have some tantalizing things to look forward to. I originally wanted GT6 to be on PS4 anyway, so I've been a little anxious to get a glimpse of something GT on that megasystem.

I expect something to come along eventually for GT6. But as Lawndart pointed out, PS3 is barely acknowledged at all on SONY's financial reports these days. They're all about PS4 now, and getting us on PSN. So... E3 is going to be interesting.

At this point, PD is in a bad time in its life, like Williams' 2013 season results (so glad they are improving and getting points now). Hopefully they will improve. If they don't release the Ayrton Senna DLC in May, then I'm completely finished with the game. I have neglected it for a while but I still keep it in mind because of the new Spanish track we are supposed to get.

I can't honestly believe that everybody still believes the thing about Sony pushing or anything like it against PD or Kaz himself.
Yes, they are part of the First Party Studios, but they're the ONLY ONES who had and still has freedom (in every single aspect you can think of) beyond my imagination. I've been following Sony from years ago right now, and I'm not claiming that I know things that others don't, but this is happening, they do have freedom.

Also, PS3 is still a big part of the business for Sony, they're "starting" with the real profits out of the console and they have never abandoned a previous system to date.
GOW2 was on PS2 with PS3 on the market to say just one example.

Besides that, the "attention" that PS4 is having right now is something normal, it was the same with the previous Playstation and it always will be. As for the possible PS4-Morpheus GT7, it's the same as always, they surely have been working on the system, it's almost obvious, but that doesn't mean they are going to cancel the plans for GT6.
As I said, having Interlagos in the cinematic intro, all the promotions they did on South America, they even included the image of him on the box...
Let's wait, as we did already to May, the Last frontier...

Just out of curiosity (as i haven't played Japanese games for some time now, it's been years since the days of final fantasy and resident evil); do the other JP developers communicate more with their fanbase?

Oh my gosh all this arguing is really entertaining!

This is really concerning me, PD is already working on GT7 Prologue before GT6 itself is mostly completed (GT6 was started WAY later during GT5's era). This means that PD is more focused on GT7 than GT6. If this is true, then most likely we won't ever get the promised DLC content/features. What a waste of $60 if this is correct.
I do think that GT7/GT7 Prologue will be an excellent game if PD puts quality into it and keeps it's promises.

I for one hope so. Let PD focus on gt7 and lets all forget the mess that were GT5 and GT6.

Is this some kind of warcraft joke?

I don't understand
I thought that was lame of HKS too. I liked that silly video of yours, watched it all, and a few more to see what else the 'Lanches had done. Evidently, the critics only like the burning pitchforks and stuff.

It's going to be interesting to watch all this play out.

Suppose PD does drop GT6 fast and with much less content than we got in GT5. And suppose Prologue shows a lot of promise beyond the eye candy. Suppose the details of GT7 itself are almost dreamy, the answers to most of our prayers. Will all be forgiven?

Full album here, it's rated (by some critics) as one of the best Australian albums of all time.

I keep forgetting you do know jack. Next time I need to know what to think, I'll run after you to know jack. :D

I'm not the one running around claiming to know everything about Japanese culture, Sony and Kaz.

Erm, no? That was the point, none of us know how long it takes to finish features so this:

I bet if you all worked at PD, you would see why it takes so long to put these features in the game.

Is a pointless thing to say as if to defend PD for their lack of progress.

Can you please knock this "I know everything about Japan/Sony/Kaz" nonsense off? You don't know jack.

Mah bro Samus killin' it out there, yo! ;)

So, all off a sudden, and just to defend PD, we're all experts in Japanese culture and ethics? Sheesh...

We know it's more than enough time for most rival studios who are coming with some SERIOUS stuff. Apparently, PD doesn't and that's whats killing 'em, they still think the butch kid of the playground while actually they're the boy muttering things about perfectionism and mimesis inside his plastic bubble.
