This is really concerning me, PD is already working on GT7 Prologue before GT6 itself is mostly completed (GT6 was started WAY later during GT5's era). This means that PD is more focused on GT7 than GT6. If this is true, then most likely we won't ever get the promised DLC content/features. What a waste of $60 if this is correct.
I do think that GT7/GT7 Prologue will be an excellent game if PD puts quality into it and keeps it's promises.

Most likely. It'll go down the way of GT5 by the looks of things: "Oh, yeah, we're gonna give you a lot of updates, yeah, tons of cars, yeah periodical updates!". They gave us some Racing Modifications, a couple of tracks that were being made for GT6 as well as some cars being made for GT6 and called it a day, "Oh, guys, we're working on a new game that'll be perfect and yes, lots of artsy blabber, mimesis, yeah, Kaz is a genius!". Here we are, almost 4 months after the game was released and we haven't even seen the course maker! They promised that, and "group features", and "periodical updates". So far? The new M4, a slightly touched up Corvette, a concept Toyota car that has no importance, and the Vision Mercedes. Has that been for free? Yes, can't deny that. Has it been up to their promises, absolutely not and it just further shows how much GT is behind it's competition in terms of content selection and time of production.

Oh, but wait, here comes GT7 with more promised but unreleased features!

GT's physics engine is like a house of cards, every time they change something, another aspect breaks.

I believe they bit off more than they could chew trying to do so much on the antiquated ps3, and are struggling to accomplish everything they said they would with the limited resources.

So maybe they are focusing on GT7 on the PS4

I doubt it's gonna get abandoned THAT fast. Besides GT6 is "technically" complete anyways.

No, it's not. If they stop now they potentially open themselves up to all sorts of legal liability. And even if they dodge that bullet, there's all the consumers that rightly expect the features from the "Updates" list on the official website in their game.

Community
Players can create their own clubs, communicate with one another in the forums and organise race events for their members. It is possible to select from a private racing club, and a public racing club that is open to everyone. This feature will be added in a future update.

Quick Match
This mode is for those who want to get in and race online right away. Matching is performed according to preset regulations, and the race will start when there are enough participants. This feature will be added in a future update.

B-Spec
The B-spec mode is a mode where you give precision instructions to your driver. This popular feature from previous versions of GT will be added in a future update. Look forward to the new, more powerful B-Spec mode.

Course Maker
This feature, available at a later stage through an update, will allow you to create your own custom tracks that can be driven in the game. Additionally, in another update we will add the possibility to generate a track by capturing the GPS coordinate data of a mobile app while you are driving that course. This GPS-generated tracks will be available in the game as playable content.

Data Logger
This feature allows you to analyse your saved replay data to show Speed, Engine RPM, Throttle Input, Gear Position, Steering Angle, etc. in a graphical format. This feature will be added in a future update.

GPS Visualiser
In a future update, we will add the GPS Visualiser. This is a feature that allows you to import Controller Area Network (CAN), used to regulate automobile systems, and GPS coordinate data from a real life car into Gran Turismo 6, and visualise the data as a replay in the game. The feature is planned to be compatible with the Toyota Motor Corporation’s CAN-Gateway ECU.

Mobile Devices
Online community features can be accessed through the iOS Safari and standard Android browsers. In addition, a future update will provide linked features through a specialised mobile device app.

3D Compatibility
Compatibility with 3D TV’s will be added in a future update.
If they abandon GT6 now, they're throwing away any trust that any consumer of GT6 has in anything they say.

I think PD is too much focusing on 2 games at once, they should focus on building up GT6 this year than work on GT7 next year. There is many things in GT6 that need patching or put on but this sorta news concerns me a little :(.

I'm curious to see what happens with GT6 once GT5's servers are finally shut down.
This. So I desided to select "no", PD hasn't abandon GT6. It's just PD is working on too many games right now. Maybe when GT5's servers go down, we'll see what will happen.

whats sad is the are still working on GT5 also. PD is a joke!! all they are concerned about is how much money they can make. I personally think their focus should be to make the best game possible for loyal customers.... maybe im wrong lol

A whole point of a business is to make money. You can argue they are not doing it right, though.

The chances are likely that many aspects of GT6 and "GT7 prologue" are shared between the two. All of the premium car models have the detail and quality needed, as do the premium tracks, all they really need to do with those is to increase the texture detail and resolution.

The lighting engine is also likely good enough for next gen as well, with minor tweaks to further enhance it. I imagine a lot of GT6's workings are a test bed/preparation for GT7 on the PS4. So no, I don't believe they have abandoned GT6 yet. If anything, it will be paid more attention in the future being GT7's guinea pig, in my opinion.

@RESHIRAM5 The whole point of a successful business is to keep your customers happy and make money. PDs managment team sucks. They have no focus. They lie to their customers.

where is our february DL content?? Where are the items that were advertised pre release?

So sick of these noob kids whos mommys buy them the game defending pd.

IF I WAS RUNNING THE SHOW I COULD HAVE MADE PD AN EXTRA 200 MILLION IN THE PAST 4 YEARS.

Logic tells me they can't have, but PD not even having fixed a couple of obvious bugs, some that must have come up in testing, if they do such a thing at all, let alone deliver features they promised (thus far), makes me doubt it a bit. I still want to believe, but it gets harder each day.

Whatever tactic makes them money, they'll keep doing it until it breaks.

I am personally concerned about PD, I fought GT6 would be their major focus after GT5 but with them working on GT7 it makes me concerned about PD, is GT6 still their main focus or are they moving away from it???

Are you referring me as a "noob" ?

Like i said in another thread, my hunch is that they are playing catchup now due to their trademark incompetence to meet deadlines. You will get the promised features in the end, just way later than expected.

Of course seeing they are such champions on the communication front, all of their customers are left wondering what the hell is going on over there in the meantime...

There doesn't seem to be much going on with the updates. They are neither producing DLC or other content or fixing the worst bugs, and seasonals don't seem to come along as often as they did with GT5, or for that matter, continue to with GT5. I clicked maybe, but I think the question is very plausible especially with the GT7 prologue rumours floating around this early. GT6 might wind up being the most half-baked version in the series of all time. Let's hope not.

Kaz has stated that all content created for GT5 was done so with next gen in mind, I think that goes for GT6, it would make sense to have all premium cars built and ready to roll on next gen and downscaled for PS3. The new track that we saw footage of must be finished, maybe they are bug testing etc. I think all of the promised features will arrive, there's a lot going on at the moment, E3 is just around the corner, have faith my friends and a little patience.

GT6 has a serious amount of content and "road construction" to be done and with PS4 on the market for several months its perfectly reasonable to feel that GT6 is now on the back burner having never been finished (I'm sorry GT6 fans but I've been in your camp and now I'm a believer this game was partially completed by plan).

So far GT6 has been frustrating (not a total joke but not great) with car setup glitches and a bare bones framework menu screen that looks 20% completed compared to GT5s menu. GT5 was a FINISHED game, GT6 has work to be done period.

The lack of course creator and the lack of Senna content is almost overshadowed I think by the glitches such as the tire glitch online, which means your second set of tires gives less grip and more understeer. Or the camber glitch where camber always reduces grip. This is going to take a massive amount of work and with PS4 already out its perfectly reasonable to believe GT6 is being abandoned.

I've just realized why PD has gone silent. Over there in Japan they've gone, "here you go guys, we're going to be nice and give you all this new stuff for GT6. Vision GT every two months or something, a new track in February! And a course maker, how about that? Oh wait, what? The bakery isn't earning enough and is about to close down? Oooh, emergency. We HAVE to get to the bakery, because they work magic in that place. Got to go, might be awhile, don't have time to say anything.

That is what has happened. All of the staff have gotten very distracted by the bakery.. Don't be surprised if the next time you see a new image of Kaz, he looks like a giant bean bag with a face.
