Which is funny; there's 400 cars in my garage, about 300 have actually been driven for more than a quick 2-lapper, and maybe only 75-100 have been driven for over 50 miles. But the ones I want to drive, I find time for, rather than trying to find an extremely subtle difference between a V-spec and a M-spec, or RS from an RZ.Wolfe2x7I agree with live4speed. The whole reason why having tons of cars is great is because it offers a lot of cars to almost every single person -- not because they can drive a zillion cars, but because they can drive most of their favorites.
It's nice to have the variety, but unnecessary to have to drive all the variety. I'd like to see PD give us a little more lattitude in the so-called "one-make" races, the ones that aren't limited to a single car that we must drive. In the Elise series, there's a few choices, but things like the Audi A3 series are just there to make up the numbers.
PD could cut out some of the automotive clutter and repetition, pare it down to 450-500 cars, and I'd still be interested in GT5. But honestly, I'm never going to get around to using the 720 cars in GT4, because there's so many that I'd just be wasting my time with.
The trouble with so many cars (if there truly is one), is that it makes tuning almost a thing of the past; you can just easily find another car to get the job done, if another one just isn't up to snuff. I've spent very little time tuning cars' suspensions and maxing out power compared to previous versions of GT, which is sort of a hallmark of the Gran Turismo series.
