I'd pay double to get it now, but not more than that so I voted for the $100 to $200 range. As much as I'd like to believe that I wouldn't pay over $100, if it really came down to it, I know I wouldn't resist...its GT5!

Can we have an option that says $60? One saying up to $100 implies that I'm willing to pay $100 for it, which isn't the case.

$60, it's just a game, and a game that should have already been out.

Thankfully this situation is hypothetical unless they'll happen to stumble upon supply problems on the weeks following the release and some smartarse is going to sell them online to the highest bidder.
Then it becomes probably more a case of what you're willing and being able to pay.
If that situation arises i'll probably just have to become even more patient, although under normal circustances i'll just run to the nearest shop which sell them and pay whatever price they'll charging.
If it was any other game, i'll be patiently looking for the best price offer online, but for me it isn't any other game.:)

Seeing that you're from Dubai, where the average annual household income exceeds US$150,000, $300 is a chump change :) Being unemployed, I'd probably have to sell a kindney in order to buy a regular GT5 (at $60).

So if someone actually had a copy of GT5 and showed in front of you and said you could have it for £100 you would say no? I know I wouldnt.

But than you are actually talking about a situation without a release. If you could pay for a version while the full game isn't released yet, than I would pay 100-200 dollars. But if it's released all over the world, I don't want to pay more than 100 dollars. But of course if the price of GT5 is $100 in stores (which is more than the pricer of other games), I would still buy it.

That's definition... I was thinking unreleased. If it was released I probably wouldn't pay more than 100...

This is a dangerous thread if Sony sees it. :)

I'd probably drop a couple hundred in the blink of an eye, this game means a lot to me, but it would do a lot of damage to my opinion of Sony/PD in the long run.

LOL @ $300-400, and $500-600.

It had better come with a G27, some Sparco racing gloves, and some hot chick's phone number for that kind of cash.

Ok, hypothetical question, hypothetical answer. If GT5 came out now as limited super-hyper gold edition at a high price and no normal edition at all... that would be it then, no GT5 for me, only used copy or rental... Enough's, enough.:ouch:

BTW RE5 Gold Edition came for 40...

Agreed mate, good call.

If i compaire the prices of games and their quality than i think its ok if GT5 will cost beetween 100-200 dollar
a very good example :(iam a big cod fan)cod 6 had cost 60 euros in germany but the game wasnt worth it (i will never buy a IW game)
the game has so much problems and it feels like it is only a small update to cod 4 ...if i compaire cod6 with gt5 than it have to cost beetween 100-200 because you cant find a other game on the world which is so focused on details
you know how PD make the cars (all cars are 1:1)they need 1-2 month for 1 car ,watch the GT5 SLS amg video and you will see (or watch the nascar video there you can see too that they are make pictures and videos of the cars...)
normal games need 1-2 years to be finish=50-70 euros
GT5 is 6 (iam not sure but i think 6 years)years in development =100-200 euros (the game is a little bit more worth but i think you cant sell a 250 euro game )

And right after you and the lucky (how limited?) buy it for $500 they release GT5 for $59.99 Canadian! :ouch:

Arrrrrrrrrrrgh :crazy::crazy::crazy:

I would be prepared to pay 100-200 quid. However that is because I'm a skint teenager otherwise I would play much more.

This is some strange logic, because apparantly one game costing the same amount ( CoD ) feels disappointing it should therefor be reasonable to charge up to more than twice the amount for GT5, which somehow also deserves to charge a premium for being in development for almost 6 years.

Look, i anticipate GT5 as much as anyone here, and if PD could have released it 2 years ago they probably would have done, yes they've taken their sweet time to develop it, but even they will not think they can charge extra for extra time, it's just one budget delivering one final product.
GT has always offered great value for money and that's only going to still be the case if they'll not increase the price above those of other games.

Well, with the current exchange rate at 1 GBP per 1.53663884838138 USD, I'd think of spending around the 65 calamari range...

This.

To put it simply, a big title like GT should not cost more regardless of the development time or cost, or popularity... (Yes, I'm talking to you Activision... I know, lets sell a game with <5 hours of gameplay and a recycled online mode from COD4 for £45, and then sell a map pack for £10, even though again, it recycles from COD4.)

I will pay for the special edition/collectors edition/Limited edition providing it comes with some good extras (Behind the scenes, making of etc. - The making of being important, I want to know what they did and when over the development cycle.). But I won't pay more than £60 for that. No more than £35 for the standard version.

EDIT: I don't care if I had the option to buy it now. I'd rather wait a few months and get it cheaper.

A game is a game. GT5 is still a game.

If GT5 were released in November, I'd consider paying maybe 15 bucks more to get it today.

But that's all, folks.
