48 here. Pong ruled the day when it was first introduced. It was like, what is this box thing that I can make a ball go back and forth with on my tv screen? This is soooo coool!
Back then we had 3 tv stations, 4 if you counted PBS. There was ABC, NBC and CBS. That was it. You either played out in the yard with your friends, played pong, or did your homework. Look at us now rocking to GT5 with our PS3's! hahaha

Yup Pong was amazing back when and My Dady an I played it with great zeal.

Sadly he was beyond it by the time I had a 360 and racing games with amazing grafics
that made it hard to believe playing games like Pong or Pole Position was ever much fun...
...let alone cool.

I think it's pretty cool seeing people in the 46 and older category play videogames, I just hope that I don't lose any interest in videogames once I reach that age group because it currently helps me save a lot of money.

Nope. I'm 44 and NEED to drive virtually. When I was a kid, I fantasized about racing all the time. Now that I'm an adult, I realize that even if I had the money and time to race on a real track, I'm not interested in broken bones or fractured insurance. I'll be playing GT until my dying days probably. :indiff:

im 19 now, but ive been playing since i was 8 years old on the PS1 with Gran Turismo 1, but its the 100% save file i have for GT3 when i was about 14, and i dont feel like i have aged since :)

Kind if funny you say that being video games started becoming popular when us 41 year olds were kids. Atarti 2600 when I was in 5th grade (actually pong was out even earlier). So I would say it's cool seeing the younger generation catch on to what us older people have known about for almost 30 years!
Yep I don't know for sure when Pong came out but I do remember playing it in the late 70s and it had been around for a while already.

23 here, and im all about presicion! and smooth laps! dont give a dam about being the fastest in a straight. just want to be no.1 :)

27 here. Pole Position on Commedore 64 got me going. Love shoving the cart in the back of a keyboard. my mother use to play atari with me in her womb. Doomed from the start

Playing GT together with my wife. I'm 62 and she's 59. Because we don't know anything about the mechanics of a car we visit this forum often and always find the answers we need.

Thanks a lot guys!

35 👍 I remember getting an Intellivision video game console for Christmas in the early 80's. Donkey Kong, Burger Time, Lock 'n' Chase, Frogger were all classics I enjoyed playing. How times have changed.

I first played Pong at a party (a party full of adults, actually) in '79. I'll never forget it. I was about 12. Even though it was a simple white box being shunted back and forth by a couple simple white rectangles, I was hooked. Began playing against all these drunk/stoned adults in the room. I don't think me and my sibs got a 2600 until 1981, though. Maybe '82.

43. Haven't owned a game system since Sega Genesis until I saw GT5. Shelled out for the PS3 and haven't had this much fun with any game, ever.

30 i am, started on a really old little gaming system in the 80s can't remember what it was called, then i had a nes, and master system at the same time, then a super nes, then i went to playstation and haven't looked back tempted to buy a wii cause of donkey kong country. Prob be a sony person forever thanks to gran turismo had all 5
