It is not about number of cars, its all about how unique your car looks, so PD please patch to add more varity to Aero Parts and Rims, and why Rims are the same size for any given car?

And I want a bunch of naked blondes with big boobs on GT Auto.

This is not PD forums bro'. Don't think they will hear ya screamin'

But nice try !

What is the point to have say chrome line edition cars? There is no point!!! You know why, because a lot of people baught collector's edition and now have them. When everybody has them its not anymore cool or something special, but if you have a lot of options to tune car's exterior well in this case you can stand out somehow. Just my point, you dont have to agree.

More customization would be a great thing, but I don't see cars getting new aero parts or things of that nature any time soon. I'm still hopeful for custom wheels on standard cars at some point though.

I dont think PD actually knows what the term self-expression means, or what it means to be unique. They think everyone is ok with having cars that look the same as everyone elses.

I wish there were more customization options, especially a livery editor. This is the same reason why people get earrings, or tattoos, or wear certain kinds of clothes, or cut their hair a certain way, they dont want to look like everyone else. Turn 10 gets this.

It's actually very odd consider they are from Japan, the country that famous for making regular car look like spaceship.
I think it came down to Kaz's personality and preference. He prefers the car have the classy look rather than a ricer tuner.

I would like to see more customization, I personally wouldn't spend hours making decals and custom graphics for them, but I definitely won't mind paying for other people's work (with in-game credit). Which to my second point, I think GT5 should have an online auction house or store for people to buy/trade cars. At the end of day, I believe collecting cars in GT5 has made it more appealing/addicting.

And with online racing, if they want to expand on it, I personally think it makes races more appealing. Even racing with friends, you can have cars that are more "personalized".

What thephenom says. 👍

There's not a thing in the world wrong with Forza style customization, although I'd rather have the "sideless" system that Eutechnyx came up with for their new game. Such customization is in fact an almost crucial ingredient in online racing leagues and clubs.

alba and several of us got a deal going in a friendly GT Planet livery competition for Forza 3, to come up with some concepts for a GTP Club livery scheme. It was awesome fun, but it fizzled, and then I dropped out of Forza completely when the files became a chore to sort through, and the Forza site killed the image quality of our pics. Wow, does Microsoft blow.

Anyhow... supposing we had something this good for GT5, not only would we have an endless resource for making tuners and race cars - no DLC required, but clubs and leagues would have a unique identity as the good car artists could create custom liveries just like the real race cars get. We could share them, wear them online as our special GTP identity... what's not to love?

Instead, we got what I feared, nothing. So what do clubs do now? I.D. their rides with specific models and paint colors? Gah...

I hope something creative does get patched in the near future, because this is such a huge omission from the GT universe.

i actually want In house companies to supply us aerodynamic kits,

I want :
- The N1 vents for the front bumper of my R32 and R34.
- Nismo S Tune bodykit, best if R tune, Z tune all uncluded. The UGLY BLACK bumper lip will be color coded.
- Spoon Front Lip, carbon hood, aero mirrors, aero wing for the Hondas
- Mazdaspeed kits for RX's generation
- Mines aero front splitters, rear carbon trunk for the Nissans & Evos
- Mugen kits for hondas
- TRD kits for toyotas
- RalliArt kis for Mitsubishi

etc, IN HOUSE COMPANIES people, these aint ricer kits

I think now that they have the core game out, (fixes and upgrades still needed) that they should develop some customization DLC, as an add on...those that don't want it...don't buy it. but I think it would be great and add a second amount of depth to GT5.

I have a better idea. Go buy Need For Speed. GT was NEVER about mods and how your car looks, it's about grassroots racing and racing production cars. You are buying the wrong game. If you were to buy a car, would you whine that it's not good enough off road? Buy a truck for that right? Catch my drift?

Dude, back in GT2 there was the 'Racing Modification' modification, which in most cases did nothing except make the car look like a race car. And there has always been the options to change wheels, which serve no purpose other than make the car look different. And the Mazda 787B is neither a grassroots race car or production car, as are the countless other F1 car, LMPs, JGTC car, touring cars, rally cars, NASCARS, etc.

That is probably one of the more ignorant posts in this thread. GT is a racing game, its a car game. In real life, people like to customize their cars. We should be allowed to do that in GT as well? Personally, I'm not a fan of ricer cars, but I do enjoy customizing my cars tastefully, and it really improves a game's replayability.

agreed...I think it should come as DLC and be optional, just t respect those that dont want it in their game. fair?

It's not just him, but Japanese culture for the older generation. Younger people are more into standing out in general.

I know, but have you forgot about the 700+ standard street cars that are in the game? GT probably has the lowest ratio of regular street cars vs. exotics/race cars of most of the current racing games out there. I enjoy the fact that GT caters towards all levels of racing, not just blistering fast cars. Wheels is nothing compared to what some people want in terms of custom parts in this game. There's other games catered towards spending money on a cars looks rather than it's true performance.

I've never seen GT as a tuner car game, as in just making cars look good. Of course people are allowed to customize their cars in real life, but they are also able to race on tracks at any time of the day, and it could be raining on any one of those tracks at any time, and countless other real life aspects. GT isn't real life, it's a game, it's a business.

You make a good point and I agree completely. So glad we don't have those spaceships in GT, haha.

Things change Falango, the console sim racing market is way different than when GT4 was around. Look at the highly successful Shift and Forza, they both have a lot of focus on customization. Thats one area GT is still behind in. If you want to call your self the ultimate racing game, then you need to look at all aspects, and like it or not, tuners are part of it. GT is a video game, and customization helps it make it that much better of a game.

I just want to be able to change wheels, and the graphics to match on all the cars in the game, but mainly, wheels, you've been able to do it in most GT games, the used rims option in GT4 was amazing.

some cars have hideous stock wheels, i'd like to swap them, so the car looks a bit better.

don't need hideous styling, just give us wheels! :(

I still don't really know if GT5 can be classified as a racing sim, regardless of what they say. It just doesn't quite fit that title with the lack of a complex tire model that is realistic, and it doesn't seem to have the degree of mechanical damage you would find in a true sim. If you ask me, it's teetering between racing sim and just a realistic looking racing game. It's in a gray area. I know console racing differs from PC racing sims quite a bit, mostly due to the degree of user content that can be created in PC sims. Don't forget about mods too.

I played Shift for about 2 hours and realized, this is NOT a racing sim. It had real cars, real tracks, and looked good, but that's all that was real about it. The physics and handling with a wheel were absolutely terrible. Maybe I didn't give it long enough to fine tune some stuff, but I tried, and straight out of the box, it felt terrible. I was really excited for it too, but really should have listened to my instinct. It was NFS, and EA. I was dumb for overlooking that.

I agree with your points, specially about Shift. Played the demo, didn't like it so I didn't buy it. But people I have talked to say that the customization is a major reason why they still play it. As for GT being a racing sim, its as realistic as it gets on a console, so give it the benefit of the doubt. :) Anyways, now that for the most part PD has really worked on improving the driving aspect of the game, for GT6 hopefully they will work just as hard on the game aspect of GT5. Meaning a more thought out advancement system, more and better events, customization and all the other gimmicks that make the game really really fun.
