Believe it or not I never posted to entice jealousy.
I posted to show naysayers more than anything. The guy's who say there will be phallic symbols and who stomach's are too weak to see a purple Porsche.

I honestly think a livery editor will make an entrance at some point and that GTPlanet will have a whole new sub forum dedicated to it and the naysayers will drift into obscurity.
 
The only overhauling that can be done with either is getting rid of them entirely. It isn't worth it to do little fixes on what is basically a dead whale of a system.
 
Yeah that's what I meant. I don't know what they must've been thinking when they put paintchips in.. I honestly think if we ever get a livery editor it'l be one of the last updates they do. After they're done fixing everything else. And that's a big if.

Damn you guys, these screenshots are teasing us. :( Livery editor it's the number 1 feature for a next GT game imho. It must have it, it's essential these days.

As with Spagetti69 posting this is certainly not to wind anyone up, but simply to illustrate how useful and (and in my opinion) important a tool it is, particularly with the rise of on-line racing in GT.

While I do agree with those that believe its low on PD's list of priorities, its certainly an option I would like to see in a future GT (I don't personally see it coming to GT5 but would be quite happy to be wrong about that one.).

I would love gt5 that much more if it had a liveryeditor. thats the only reason i ever strayed to forza1 in the first place.
 
While we are at it, it would be nice to be able to do custom helmets too!! I hate having to use the same helmets as everyone else.

I wouldn't balk at the helmet suggestion either.
That would be a natural evolution seeing as clothing is already in place.
I'd certainly make up a Senna helmet in honour of the great man.
 
Yeah, superb examples! Hopefully they've sparked some imagination in the detractors.

Anyway, it's all academic, as we know Kaz wanted to include a livery editor in GT5. Spag's right: GTP will have its livery section one day.

Those are good examples for include livery editor in GT series.

Well sorry for long post but i put some of the liveries not all. GT needs liveries for championships with same cars and make teams. It is not enough having only some colours and cars with only one livery.
Best liveries are based in real ones.

In WMD forums from pCARS they made a contest for liveries and you can find amazing ones. (i can´t copy those liveries yet to show you guys)
 
Kaz is definitely a purist of sorts.

It took 5 console games for Kaz to allow to paint our cars. And to paint our rims. Think about that.

GT5 showed no signs of a livery editor but I do hope GT6 delivers.
 
Arguably, that could be because GT5 begun development in 2004-2005, when they were still in a time when paint editors and livery editors weren't too big.

Eh, GT5 was released in 2010. PD is a pretty competent company. In 5 years, PD could have found time to create a livery editor if they were instructed to. Simple as that, really. And if you're a student of Kaz and GT games, you'll notice that customization is very limited. And it always has been.

GT4 kept it basic: We can change rims, but cannot paint cars. We can add a wing, and that's it.

GT5: From the lack of livery editor to the brevity of aerodynamic options; it's clear that Kaz isn't yet ready for "his" cars to be tattooed or he wants to develop some super editor. I vote for the former.

The positive news is that he is adding custom cars from SEMA, which embrace individuality and uniqueness. When will this migrate to GT games? Time will tell!
 
I would love too be able to do something like this is GT5 with that skyline policecar.

Those are custom made. From the BMW.E92.GT2.Challenge.2010.v1.0.GTR2 mod

Just log in and change the language to English because it is a German site. Best mods for GTR2 are all there. And they make conversions from others too.

For rFactor mods you have the brother site. You can find it there too.(but still rFactorcentral is the best)👍
 
This seems to be standard issue with me thesedays, but even that small heart on the rear quarter panel alone makes me feel a lot more proud of the car I drive.
