Interesting/Cool Modifications

Flat floor is racing modification, quite a few cars have it as an option.

It is only one aspect of modifying a car for racing though.

The old racing modification also gave the car the following

Adjustable front wing
A racing livery
Modified interior

....which we don't have on cars where we can add the flat floor.

I assume most of us would like it if the game had a basic racing alternative with livery of each road car that could be built/upgraded as desired.

Adjustable front downforce should be available for all cars as that's the biggest hurdle to making a race car in GT6.

Also a very basic livery editor would enable unique racers to be made. For most cars have a selection of generic stripes like the ones on the MX5/Miata. Also have a few styles of numberplate (race number) that can be added which allows you to choose a race number in Garage.

The combination of aero kits, spoilers, body parts, wheels, stripes, paint, numberplate and race number makes the chance of finding a car the same as yours very low.

Anyone can please inform if the spoiler of the RUF BTR '86 can be removed?
Unfortunately no. You can't even replace it, it just adds on to the size. So your downforce gets downforce while you use downforce.

When you add a spoiler to the Avatador it goes up and down with the factory electric spolier. how does this effect performance and downforce?

My guess is more drag in reality

But I don't know in GT5/6

When it's tilted forward it increases both downforce and drag (in real life), but it's hard to measure if it got any effect in Gran Turismo.

However, I think the SLS AMG's retractable spoiler can be disabled, so I suppose it's possible to compare a spoiler SLS with a non-spoiler SLS and then simply assume that all moving spoiler cars work in the same way.

I'm curious for tuning reasons in GT6 . It seams like it would be a tuning nightmare. Im not sure of a way to even test how it affects our cars. Or if it is just an oversight or glitch we will have to adjust our driving style to in the future

I'm disappointed that the Dodge Viper GTS adds stripes whenever I paint it, regardless of whether or not it had stripes to begin with.

GT5 did not do this and the two white stripes on the matte-black body look very out of place for the overall look I'm trying to recreate from the GT5 viper.

Just thought I would mention that flat floors seems to be utterly useless in GT6. It adds a ridiculous (and unrealistic) amount of aero drag, so much so, that any benefits gained from the extra grip in corners is completely lost on the straights with the severely reduced acceleration and top speed.

My BMW 135i, completely stock except for sport exhaust, turtles happily along at 184 mph, but add the flat floors and the top speed drops to a measly 159. Not only does it hinder top speed, but the flat floors also kill straight line acceleration, again owing to the artificially inflated drag.

It seems to me this is yet another bug towards which PD and Kaz are completely oblivious as Kaz focuses on TV stardom.

Well apparently you can drive it straight up a wall with all that downforce.

Same thing happens with the 2010 Camaro, and it was also like that in GT5.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys whatca gonna do............

Has any done a race with just the
Nissan Pace Car yet? I have one
and am down for a race this
weekend.

I have, drove it at Ascari with full trim, really great accleration but those blue tinking lights gets annoying after a while....LOL

One movie and you make this assumption all because of a bug that you really don't like. They've fixed the wheel width issues, supposedly fixed the over snappiness of the MR cars and added cars so I'm pretty sure they are more aware then you think and will likely address it.

Acura Integra cool looking aero kit

That aero kit + removed rear wing = awesome.

Because he totally wrote the script, directed, filmed, produced and edited that documentary all by himself. And at the premiere screening, he even ran the projector by himself. With that in mind, it's not strange that there are some bugs in GT6, because Kaz is also personally correcting all of those bugs himself without any aid from his staff.

Camaro SS '10 with racing exhaust and flat floor.

Fitting the race exhaust moves the exhaust pipes on the side of the car

The (un)cool thing is that on the back of the car the flat floor still has a couple of slots for the exhaust pipes... but no exhaust pipes. Cheap job by the GT-Auto crew:P

You know what would have been cool, if the DMC Delorean was premium, with a fully detailed exterior and interior. I wish Polyphony can add more premium cars to GT6 soon.

The KTM X-Bow Street has a pretty interesting modification (and I assume this is the case with the X-Bow R as well) that doesn't appear to have been mentioned in this thread until now - when you install the racing exhaust on the KTM, the rear bumper(?) extends outwards by quite a considerable margin, making it look a tad like a rear diffuser.

No pictures of it, sadly - haven't got a USB stick on me right now, so can't transfer the Photomode pics from my PS3 to my laptop - but you can make it out in the video below.

To be honest, an almost stock 135i shouldn't be hitting 184mph in the first place, that seems a bigger bug in this game!
