iOS 7 release timeline.

Why? They're no more or less reliable then an actual alarm clock.

But because they have this complex software to run other things.
Which may freeze or hang.

If this is the case your alarm is useless.

I've used my iPhone for an alarm since the 3G and never once had an issue. Honestly, you're just sounding overly paranoid or wary of technology for now reason.

Same here Grayfox, it's the reason why I keep a live rooster in my room: my cock gets the job done every morning.

My alarm has never let me down, but after updating the alarms volume was almost at minimum, never though to re-check that, thank goodness I'm a light sleeper.

The 4S is certainly running a lot smoother today than yesterday. I haven't had any battery life problems either, my Bluetooth kept itself switched off after the update and everything seems to have remained on the settings I had before. I'm getting used to it, I just don't like the look of it.

I use my phone as an alarm every single day and it's never let me down in the past. Today was no different.

Was any one else late for work this morning because their alarm didn't go off?
My alarms are still intact and with the tones I have set for them. As far as ring tones, I'm not impressed with any of the new ones enough to switch from the classic Old Phone. Although "Circuit" does remind me of Owl City :P

There are a couple of good tips here. http://youtu.be/Nj_VuhlfDzQ

Opening reminds me of Crash Banditcoot
Cosmic reminds me of Knight rider
Waves reminds me of Prelude(FFIX OST)

Without reading whole thread, this update was a mess for me.

It took me like 4 hours to finally have my phone work again.

The worst part for me is the battery life sucks now which I don't know why as I have things turned off like location services. I don't like the text layout either.

I just updated last night and spent today really playing with it.

I had an issue getting weather of any kind to show on my Notification Center, but after just randomly toggling settings it finally began working.

I was quick to turn off background app restoring and all background downloading. Until I can specify to only ever do that on WiFi and a certain battery range I won't use it. Besides, I like reading change notes on my apps before updating them. Between that and only allowing location services for the few things I had before has prevented me from the battery issues others have had.

I do like dynamic wallpapers and parallax effects. At first I couldn't figure out why I felt uneasy looking at my wallpapers.

Ultimately, it's OK. There are some odd design choices and some aspects that make me wonder what Apple's testing procedures are like. I neither hate or love it. It's just an update.

On my iPhone 4 my battery life has dropped from a 4.5 hour average to about 3.75 hours with heavy internet browsing, Its over 2.5 years old so the battery is on its way out. No noticeable difference in drain on standby though.

After living with it for a few days I've noticed web pages scroll more smoothly than with IOS 6.1.3, it's actually not as laggy now, and all the icon movements when they zoom out from the lock screen or from closing a folder are surprisingly smooth. The only real performance hit i see is battery life.

I just hate the stark white backgrounds and lack of color in some areas, messaging and calendar don't look finished, in contrast the look of the phone when making a phone call is beautiful, the dark background looks much more pleasing.

Edit: I just turned off "background app refresh". We'll see if that helps my battery out.

It's really hard to see a timer counting down, like outside grilling. There needs to be more contrast. Would be great if we had a few options.
