The CTR3 would be cool to get eventually, but only after we've bolstered our membership numbers a bit.

I think the RT12R will be great to drive if it's AWD on factory tires or RWD on slicks. But if they try to do RWD on factory tires, I don't think people will like it for the most part. Sure there will be a few masochists who enjoy it, but most people would gravitate towards the easier one to race.

We've got quite a few "street cars" in iRacing like the Jetta, MX-5, and Solstice. The RT12R has more racing modifications than any of those cars.

Just that those you mention here have a real life racing series to their car, witch they scanned. The RUF does not. CTR3 also is very much a road car.

What's next? Bugatti Veyron and a Pagani?

Personally I think they go the wrong way, and I'm disappointed. Waste of build time, when they could create something that could stand next to their slogan "motor_SPORT_ simulation".

Well, it will be one of those cars I wont buy ;)

The RT12R is as "race car" as the GT2RS, GT3RS, 360CS, 430Scud, etc. Or any factory uprated model for that matter. A "track inspired supercar" is imo, a more fitting description.

730 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 940 Nm at 3,500 rpm

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres, 245/35 ZR 19 front, 325/30 ZR 19 rear
Rollcage and crossbar integrated in the interior paneling (IRC)
Ceramic brakes, disc diameter 380 mm front, 350 mm rear

The power and speed figures alone suggest that it will easily outpace the current iRacing GT cars on the straights. But with all that weight, you know its going to suffer in the corners, regardless of 4WD or 2WD. The H-box is also a no go, with sequential boxes and flappy paddles becoming the norm in recent years.

It's a shame Porsche don't realise that Need For Speed really doesn't show their cars in the best light, maybe then they would work a deal with an actual simulator like iRacing.

I would love to see a Porsche GT3 Cup Car, but that will never happen unless Porsche realise.

what happened to the Indy car series road? imo, the car is alot racier than before the new build. :)

I haven't spent a lot of time in it previously , but I happened to give it a whirl last night at Oulton - Fosters (fixed road) and had so much fun , I went straight out of that test session into a TT just for the hell of it. It was a stupid amount of fun !

I must agree, I tried it at Interlagos and it felt great. Waaaayyy better than before.

On its original specs that car has no place in any of the series we run, the car simply makes no sense on iRacing. They need to turn it into a Cup car and restrict it to arround 480 hp in and give it slick tires so it can be placed on an existing series like World Challenge along side the Cadillac and Kia or Proto/GT Challenge as a GT-C car.

Well they are clearly modeling the road car (see two seats), despite the fact that Simbin has gotten away with modifying them. I still don't think that they will cut off 300 horsepower, 300 kg, AND give it slicks+RWD option.

And even then, you will have to replace the stock buckets with a "racier" one, a sequential gearbox, steering wheel, and dash for the Ruf to even remotely resemble a GT3 Cup.

Just doesn't sound like what the iRacing devs would do.
But if they do, they better put it in the Rolex series.

Anyone ever been hit on a standing start before the race even starts, receive a 4x and get black flagged? Just happened to me..

I saw it happen once, i was very lucky myself

Anyway i am exploring the Oval racing. I will never make fun again about driving in circles. Its hard :O

I really don't like driving alone in the race, but when you are in a pack of cars its pretty awesome.

After doing some newbie mistakes, i start to learn some basics. Its really fun. Don't get me wrong. Road is still my thing and oval can't never compete whit it. But its something diffrent that i more and more appreciate.

I have more or less a decent race pace but i start to lose time/or drop away in the second part of the race. I never had tyre issue's on the road. But at oval racing i burn them like hot butter.

The Riley is much more fun than the McLaren at Silverstone. For me the McLaren under steers like a boat there :(. Every setup I tried for the McLaren felt horrible.

Don't have the McLaren but Riley sure is fun there :D

Can anyone tell me if 1.29.1 is good in the Williams at silverstone with a stock setup? Would like to know how far off I am.

The Riley to me feels unstable with all its weight at Silverstone, but that is because I got used to it with the FW31. The FW31 was also very unstable due to its power to weight ratio, but it was predictable.

And amf7, the quali laps were 22's and 23's, race pace was 23's and 24's with fuel fuel load. I would say with the fixed setup a 26 or even a high 25 would be pretty good.

That's what I'm afraid of. I apreciate the effort of bringing this car to the service, but it's a pointless car on iRacing's structure, with our current physics the car will be pain in the butt to race competitively even worse than the V8!

Thanks 👍 guess I need to get practicing!

What’s your best lap time? I managed a 1:41.711 in a practice session. Only driving that until the track changes.

Ah a 1:44 I think, maybe a 45 though. I'm only doing practice sessions till I figure the car out though. Just bought Silverstone last night anyway.

Top guys were running 1'20s in qualifying last week. Best I managed was a 1'27.4 with an optimal in the 1'26s.
You really need to have a good setup in the Williams otherwise you're losing bags of time everywhere simply because it gives you more confidence. Not many members are very forthcoming sharing setups for it though.

There are plenty on the forums, not the fastest setups though, especially as most of them are 1 stop strategy setups, while it seems 0 stops is the way to go this season.

Good luck amf7, and remember don't give up.

Yeah, there are plenty, but none of them are particularly good. You're better off trying to work on your own setup.

Anyone else having trouble accessing the member's site?

EDIT: Yep, member site is down. You can still access the forum by typing in the URL directly. Bunch of reports over there.

Could you link to the forum?

This is frustrating. I've been a member for the past few years and it seems that the site keeps getting less and less stable, more so recently.
