Let me tell you something (and this may come across as a bit of a provocation, but it's not supposed to be) - yesterday, I played Forza 3 for the first time since GT5 came out. Before GT5s release, I thought Forza wasn't a very good simulator (if any) and I though the game was "a bit of everything, but nothing done properly". Then GT5 came out and you can guess what my first impression was. Let me give you (or myself - nobody will be bothered to read down to the end of this list

) a list of things I HATE about GT5.
Lack of tracks I'm sorry, but "Suzuka" and "Suzuka short" really doesn't count as 2 - It counts as ONE. Now try to count all the tracks in GT5 by this logic and see what number you come up with - disappointing, isn't it?
Stupid "premium car" choices I won't even start with the Veyron - I get it - they couldn't get the car for a week to do the modelling (and let's be honest - the level of detail PD put in every car is much higher than Turn 10). But why did they have to make Jaguar XK and XKR (basically the same as the difference between M3 and 330i) and didn't make the XFR Premium? I mean what the hell? And this is just one example of the stupidity.
Outdated Premium cars I can't wipe off the impression, that PD made all the models in 2007/8 and added perhaps 10 more in 2010. The Premium cars are massively outdated. The Focus ST is pre-facelift (that's a 2008 facelift I'm talking about folks...), the M3 is outdated (okay, that's just tail lights, but still), the old Z4, pre-facelift GT-R (although to be fair, this was quite a recent one), the old Golf GTI (and again, the new one has been with us since 2008), the C30 is pre-facelift (2009). I know some of these were in Prologue, but they really should've updated them... So for the last 2 years of development, PD weren't working on cars (except for the few new ones). What were they working on then?
Well, they were probably working on the AI ... no, actually I guess not.
Rolling starts It's just stupid. Everyone knows the real thrill is in a standing start of 10+ cars at the same time.
Interior It's the same problem as with Forza. PD spent hours on every cars interior (which is apparent when you look at some of the photos) but they didn't include a mechanism for us to get a glimpse. The way some people get inside of a car in photo mode is just a glitch - something we weren't supposed to do. I really don't understand why...
Special effects Need I say anything?
Don't get me wrong- GT5 is still a great game. But it's also a huge disappointment for me and I really don't think my expectations were too high. BTW. I could go on with the list, but I got bored...
