Personally I always like rolling starts better than grid starts. Hopefully PD will allow us to choose that option in arcade mode and a-spec in a patch.

Seriously? Single file rolling starts? Never thought anyone would prefer that when no form of motorsport I know of uses it. Fair enough. I thought Arcade already had the choice of starts? As you can guess I never bother with arcade mode. (I think I should TBH but no rewards kills it for me)

pray tell us about this Big step forward then?

online?, premiums? physics...a step, but was it a big one?

Now about steps BACKWARDS Aspec events, Bspec can't speed it up, Less tracks, "low" tyre physics forces on in Aspec, no qualifying (ok GT4 started that rot, but GT5 should have fixed it), Rolling starts (again GT4 started that, but GT5 HAD it then PD in their infinite stupidity..erm wisdom, went back to rolling starts).

so tell me,

what part of online, premiums and physics needs to be changed so you can say it's a big step?

And you have to be kidding if you wanted b spec speeding up. seriously, how bout you skip b spec together since you haven't got the patience.

Rolling starts are present online. Enjoy it there. Where it matters.

Nope and GT5 wont become finished quickly and gt6 wont come for a while because PD is too small of a company. They cant get a lot of things done with only 150ish people. The need to Double or Triple their workforce to make proper progress. And to make more content.

There's still many things missing that should of been there at the start. :indiff:

- Rewind/FF (Not the sorry excuse they added in spec 2.0)
- More rims (+ ability to put them on standards)
- More tracks (lots missing from previous GT's, and some that should yet haven't been in the series at all)
- Engine swaps?
- Extended tuning, licensed tuning parts that offer slight differences in performance instead of PD's generic parts?
- Load times are still slow, and the network is still very glitchy for a lot of people
- Most engine sounds (mostly on standards) still sound terrible
- Still no way to upload/transfer replays, forced to use expensive/complicated methods of getting good quality replays onto youtube.
- Many iconic cars missing from the game, if it wasn't for 20 different skylines/rx7's/mx5's there would be more space for cars people actually want (e.g. E30, Cosworths, more TVR's, more Maserati's etc. etc.)

This is not a wish list, these are things which should not be issues a year after release.

I was saying that online and premiums were big steps (could have done my post clearer). Physics...definitely a step up from GT4, but tell me where it's a BIG step up.

I don't bother with Bspec, but options are nice and it's an example of a backward step.

I don't want Rolling starts I want Standing starts.....and I don't care about online, I'm glad it's there finally so people like you can have your fun, but PD ignore those who want to play offline more.

oh and BTW try being less selfish. It's not THAT hard....go on...just give it a try....I'll give you a cookie.

2 words to the OP. Hell no.

150 is a lot.

Are you crazy ? These things you mentioned is basically a wish list for a sequel. I can already see people disappointed with GT6 lol. Engine swap is bad idea let that remain in Forza.

Although I am not sure why other GT4 tracks were not done again for GT5. I guess they are saving it for GT6.

150 is a lot.

It's evidently not enough.

Yet again dismissing things because they're in Forza. I agree it is a wish rather than something that should be in the game, but why exactly should they stay in the other game? Do you know how common engine swaps are in real life?

I'm not a big complainer, and I'm not trying to come accross as one, but to answer your question, I think it is far from a finished game. There should not be two different classes of cars. We should not be playing a game with "blacked out" interiors and thinking of it as an awesome addition. (I am happy that they did add it, but it doesn't make it finished.)

Yes, but like in Forza, you cant simple add Chevrolet V8 into a Toyota Corolla, or can you ? It's very restricted in its own way.
and gosh, AWD Datsun 510 that can beat Bugatti Veyron on drag strip, yes we defo need something like that in GT series.

GT5 = more "serious" racing game
Forza = Fun Factor racing game

Really badly worded poll, GT5 is more like a finished product after 2.0 , so I answer yes too the poll. However I think that there will be more updates.

So because it's limited (obviously by manufacturer license who don't want other engines in their cars) you wouldn't want it?

As for the stupid AWD Datsun that was a combination of problems with the PI system, not just the engine swap.

It is a lot. They need better planning and management but more people will obviously help. I do not think the drive train and engine swap is needed at all. Let it be normal like real life with proper upgrades and tunning. No need to make fantasy car. Even RB X1 although designed by Adrian Newey is also exaggerated IMO. It is like a rocket not a car

Well I dont need it into the GT because it is in Forza already, wouldnt that be called "thiefing" if PD would really make such addon.

Ofcourse it would be fun but it could be easily ruined as shown with Forza world

150 is not alot compared to all the other big gaming companies. I really do hope PD hires more staff and workers.

GT5 is a dynamic products who will see many makeovers in it's lifetime.

Whether it is needed or not is certainly open to interpretation, and I would personally say that it isn't; but there is nothing unrealistic about it.

I still feel as if GT5 is missing a bit more content(career races). Other than that GT5 is probably the most amazing racing games out there.

As already pointed out, engine swaps are very common amongst car modification enthusiasts, not to mention racing teams.

So what you're saying is I was right earlier, you don't want things in GT5 simply because they're in Forza?

First of all, this is still a wishlist, whether you say it is or not. Second, this last bullet is not true at all. They can't just throw out Skylines and RX7s to "make room" for other cars. There's plenty of room. They either don't have the license, or haven't yet modeled them. But it's not as if they wasted time modeling the RX7s and such because they were ported from GT4 with relatively little effort.

Orson Welles once said:

"Films are never completed. They are abandoned"

The same can be said for games. But PD seem to be reluctant to abandon their latest game. Thankfully.

People need to stop asking for changeable rims on standards. Standards are like spare tires. They aren't meant to look amazing, just there to do the job. Temporary solutions. Then again that's just me..

150 people is a lot for a racing game but I am sure they will hire more people. Not sure what their plan is. To make a game every 2yrs ? Also it is important that GT does not turn out to be NFS or COD that comes every now and then and then have DLC too :nervous:

I know some people do it but I am not sure it can last the race distance or how many km it goes before the car wears down. There are other important things. Moreover I am pretty sure there is a event where lot of people bring their modded cars in a competition and they choose a car to have it in a game. May be they can do that, the craziest real life modded cars in GT.

Is GT finished?...... Hmm, I guess it is.

Well I've finished with it.

No game is ever finished if we think of it this way.
We play, we enjoy games, but in the end we think 'wouldn't it be great if this and that was there'
A game, in my opinion, is finished when there is little/no bugs in it. I haven't played spec II, so I don't know how it is.

Yeah, it looks more finished but still needs a bit more nip and tuck.

Arcade AI aggressiveness incorporated into career mode (really don't know why they didn't add it in spec II)
New slipstream slider in A-Spec as well
More A-Spec events
Just a little bit more noise from the engine in cockpit
A few more tracks with weather and day/night option (tokyo 246 looked like it was going to be one judging by a few buildings)
More realistic damage progression (and mec damage in A-Spec)

I think thats not being unrealistic, as the majority are in the game already. PD just need to spead there great work between all modes instead of being very selective.

Why would the engine wear down any more than it would in it's original car?

150 is a lot.

Look at turn 10. They have more employees and better methods of designing stuff and look. They release amazing games very often. And nice amounts of DLC

Obviously it can effect, the design of the car, cooling and various other factos. They can't simply swap a F1 engine on normal road car say a hatchback and expect it is work. Lots of modification will be needed actually I am not sure it is even pratical. It is just wrong.

It wouldve been nearly finished had they done one of the following:

Left out the simple interior

or

Turned all standard cars into premium cars
