Maybe theyre too busy working on GT6!
Just my two pence/2 cents but if you advertise something, then if you cant deliver you tell people....its called communication and in this day and age of FB/Twitter/websites,smartphones etc it shouldnt be hard to communicata, if the company I worked for did that then I think the would be issues pretty soon....I m not complaining just stating a fact![]()
Who is to blame for the farce that is GT Academy? Answer PD!I find it hard to believe that so many people can complain about something so little. If you just paid attention to the whole picture, there is problems with GT Academy events, they are handling those and then the seasonals. Damn it is just a game! Give it a rest and race online.
Not hardly. I don't give two bits about PD or Kaz, but if a lack of features in a game brings out the worst in people such that they're calling for heads, they need a dose of perspective. It doesn't say good things about this 'community'.See the brave white knights defending a poor company...
Maybe to work on the up and comming GT5 Update.
There can only be so many developers working at PD. So, it wouldn't be surprising if a lot of them have been busy straightening out the GT Academy issues.
The problem people have with this is not that the PD staff takes a break. The problem is this:There's a tweet referring to Kaz and/or the team taking a break, and a large group responds like spoiled brats.
Source: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170020Just posted in the News > INFORMATION section of GT5:
Our thanks to you all for you participation in the Seasonal Events!
From this point the Seasonal Events will generally be updated on Thursday every week at 04:00 (GMT).
Please note that the timing of these updates may vary by +/- 1 day, we recommend checking the distribution periods as listed in the Event list screen.
Make sure to keep an eye out for extra Special Events not included in the periodic updates! These will be notified separately in our news section.

I wish we got some official word about the delay

This was on January 25th. Just a week later, Kaz twitters that they're taking a few days off, so the next update will be late. And since this is unofficial, we only know this because there are people following his account and making an effort to translate his tweets.
I would assume PD was not surprised by their own "little break". So why didn't they include this in their above message? If they need a break, by god, let them have it, they worked hard for it. But putting up an official message that seasonals will be updated weekly just to push back said update because of a needed break one week later makes very little sense.

Yep. No company is so unprofessional as to not deliver a weekly event on time. Any company that delivers something on a weekly basis usually has content for many weeks in advance.
If PD didn't update the seasonal events on time then its because they ran into some kind of problem. They didn't tell us when the update would come because they don't know and they don't want to give another wrong date.
Let's face it, PD is not well managed. Remember we were supposed to have a damage update for Prologue. Then all the release delays.
I work in software and so I know that delivering well tested products on time, estimating properly and remaining within budget is the sign of good project management.
In my opinion, "generally" has a different context here. They say that they will generally update the events every week. They also give out the margin of +/- one day. And they add that there might be extra events on top of that. These very precise informations don't sound at all to me like they "might" give us an update every week, which is what you are implying if I understood you correctly.Your quote already says it all to you, the GENERALLY is what you should focus on. They say they'll generally be updated on Thursday every week, but generally means that it isn't necessarily so.
They are not obliged to tell us anything either way. But it would be considered good form if they would. There is very little communication with the customers anyway. So if they step forward and give out a precise schedule of how the seasonal events will be handled in the future, do you think it is too much to ask of them to inform their customers that there will be a break of a few days? I don't mind the break itself at all, I'm just saying they should have told us when they were giving out information about this anyway. I don't even want to know why there is a break. They could just say that they'll skip this week and continue as planned next week. So, no SE's are too late, so they are not obliged to tell us anything.![]()
Unfortunately, there is no way to contact PD directly. They don't have known e-mail adresses one can write to. People have written letters to their postal adress, but they never received an answer. There is no forum through which PD can be contacted. The only known way to talk to PD right now is to twitter Kaz, which is unofficial as well as quite limited. If you're so brave, go to PD personally and tell them how they should improve the game or make your own racing game.
They could do it right if they wanted to: leave the seasonals unrestricted, but add a set of optional limits to possible modifications of the car. These limits should put you in a situation similar to the first set of restricted events. Put a little credit/XP bonus on meeting those limits. A win win situation. If there are restrictions, people are complaining because it's too hard, if there are no restrictions people are complaining it's too easy, seems like PD can do nothing right can they?

Maybe these guys should offer something constructive, if they can. Don't you think? *shrug*

Also, the "why don't you go and make a better game" argument has been brought up before. If you take a step back and think about it, it is a pretty weak one. A bad product is a bad product. Does the fact that I can't make a better version with my own hands mean that I mustn't complain about it? If so, I mustn't complain about anything in my life anymore and just take everything as it is.

From Twitter in response to the question on when the #7 events will be up.
ちょっと一休み。(A Little Break) RT @anthonyputson: @Kaz_Yamauchi Kaz, will the new seasonal events be up soon?
What "A little break" means is anyones guess.
