I know this has nothing to do with the thread, but I came accross it about 10 mins ago on another forum!! made me p i s s myself !!

That was a fanboy's attempt to downplay KZ2 but somehow redeem GeOW2, I admire the civilised way you used to show your fanboy views but in the wnd they are just that... fanboy views HAHAHA

Really? Did the site say anything about a launch-day option for GTAIV? I'm thinking i won't get it on the launch-day because there is an actual option that you can pay a little extra to guarantee you receive it that day.

But i hope you're right. 👍
No, I didn't pay extra or found launch day option on the site. I myself was surprised to find it at my door on the launch day. One thing though, I have spent quite amount of money on Amazon prior to GTA4 purchase. Not sure if that has anything to do with me getting it on the launch day.:dopey:

Edit: just check my account, still "Items not yet shipped". So I guess I only get lucky once.:guilty:

I just got the ful version of KILLZONE 2 yesterday, have not played online yet & was just wondering if we can have a GTPlanet clan.

Still deciding whether to buy this. I have not downloaded the demo yet. Is the demo a fair indication of the full game experience?

i'll probably turn around and buy it when i next go to the shops. I have way too many shooters on the ps3.

Same here, also have CoD4 and CoD:WaW and they are all great games for online play. But I think my focus will be on KZ2 for a while. ;) I especially like the online gametype where the mission changes during the course of the map.

My copy was shipped yesterday - Between that and LBP, I really can't see how work can be all that important...

*goes to check mailbox for the nth time so far*

Just started playing this. Am playing through the first level and its great! Controls feel a little odd but getting used to it. I was wondering though do you get fairly frequently split second pauses when it is loading?

Yeah they happen as the next area is loading, slightly annoying but hey I can live with it. It is a newer build since the demo, initially because I don't feel like a midget running round anymore!

$88 (AUD) here. Found out that I could get it next week for $84 but really I don't care for a few dollars.

Cheers about the loading question. I have been nitpicking at my ps3 since I got it back being paranoid something is wrong with it.

I have a question.... recently someone asked to add me to their friend's list, and I didn't recognize their PSN ID (Bonnie-vs-Clyde), and like soooo many add-me requests, they also didn't add any info about who they were in the body of the message (why do people do that???).

So before posting a repley asking who the hecak they were as I didn't want to make them feel bad in the event I should have known who they are, the first thing I did was to check my Players Met list as that's an easy thing to do, and there name was no where to be found.

Next I checked their trophy list to see if it might ring a bell with me, and not only did it not, but I noticed they already had 8% of the Killzone 2 trophy completion done... and this was three days ago! I then checked the date and times of the trophies they had already earned for KZ2 and the first two they got were back on the 5th, nearly three weeks ago, followed by another on the 15th, and a few more early on in the morning of the 22nd.

Didn't this game just come out? :odd:

Official launch date is not until Friday, I do however know that a few shops in Dubai apparently sold retail copies over the weekend. I don't however know of anyone who sold it that long ago.

The only other thing I can think of its a Sony employee, if you look at the rankings list over at Killzone.com the leaderboards already have quite a few people showing, so of whom I recognise from the official forums (Sony mods, etc).

Did they have any LBP trophies? Maybe he met you a while ago online.

BINGO!.... but with an interesting twist.

So I got a reply... but no response to my question about how they managed to earn trophies for Killzone 2 as early as the 5th of February - instead it was only an invite to join them in LBP.

That's when I discovered it wasn't a guy, but rather a girl... and dare I say, a very attractive girl (but I'll explain how I found that out another time... and before you get the wrong idea, she knows I'm a family man, and has seen pics of my wife & kids from LBP).

She invited me to her LBP pod and we chatted a bit. Turns out she is 25 years old and living in Germany, although her mother is from Guatemala, which undoubtedly accounts for her striking looks (she looks a lot like Rhianna). Her English is certainly far better than my German. She wouldn't give away any details on how she got an early copy of KZ2, but she did say she has a promotional copy that she got nearly a month ago, and is loving the game.

Now maybe it was chauvinistic of me to say it... but I told her how surprised I was to see such an attractive young lady playing such a hardcore game like KZ2. She laughed and said, yeah... she get's that kind of reaction a lot. :)

(yes, that's me in my SackMasterChief costume) :D

Anyway... for all you KZ2 guys out there... if you get fragged by someone called Bonnie-vs-Clyde (or her other gamertags **GamerGirl4Life** and Missplayalot), know you just got killed by a girl. ;)

Nice one D-N. It's nice to know that not only guys bought the KZ2 hype. I am pissed that she has her copy while I have one more night to go through before I get to kill helghans.

It's a proper FPS, and no mistake. I played through the first three segments last night and had to stop because of motion sickness!

Well a stupidly huge amount of work and going out for (a rather poor) curry last night has limited the amount of time I have been able to spend on KZ2.

That said what I have played so far has blown me away.

The first level alone is amazing, and the demo does not do the game justice at all, cutting off right when the action starts to heat up in a big way. rarely has a 'first' level of a game thrown so much variation at you.

I managed two MP games as well, one on the Market map (which was a strong favourite of mine from the beta) and one on the bridge map. The bridge level is just huge is scale in terms of both area and height, which adds a big element to MP in having to watch out for fire from so many more angles.

32 players were in both of those matches and not a bit of slow-down at all, and the sheer amount going on is incredible, with the MP graphics every bit as good as the those in the story mode.

I really wish I didn't have a shed load of work to get done today (and a very tight deadline for it) because working from home and not being able to play is killing me (I may 'have' to grab a quick go at lunch).

Even though I have waited years for this game, I have decided for the moment NOT to buy it. I'm going to wait until the hype has died down a little, and then make my decision.

Watch out, that lunch may turn out to be a multiple-hours thing. ;)

The server I'm working on just crashed (oh dear) so I've grabbed an hour and it just gets better and better.

I will be the first to admit that it doesn't do anything innovative, but it does everything so damn well and I love the atmosphere.

ohhh sod it, going ring the old man at work and tell him im buying it :) I cant wait, I hate FPS but the hype and comments from fellow GTP'ers made me want to be included in the fun.

Exactly how I feel, only got a couple of games online as well but really good. I enjoy the slightly slower pace of the game compared to other FPS, its more tactical.

Same here, perfect for an old geezer like myself who hasn't got the split-second reaction times of a 4-year old ADHD patient on amphetamines. ;)

It's as innovative as a FPS can be. I love the tacticality of the weapons switching. I love the force-reload, and the interaction with map items (using the sixaxis tilt to operate the floodgate was genius). Also, the way the enemy suddenly floods the map without warning is really compelling.

Thats what i like to hear! I got a call from my gamestop and it's in. I will be picking it up today after work and going at it a bit this weekend. I'll share my thoughts. :)👍

Less than two hours later...

Hmmmm... now that I know you have mad hacker skills to bring down a server, I'm going to be especially nice to you from now on. :D

I'm still quietly mumbling "I must resist, I must resist, I must resist..." :nervous:

I too am not a fan of FPS games and have too many other games that I still have not got around to playing... but the enthusiastic comments and reviews are not helping to make my decision to hold off any easier. :indiff:

It was actually the fault of a guy I work with (not that I'm going to tell our boss) who against my advice tried to upload 20 massive files to a server that is still running a tool that is in development.

Upload them one at a time I told him, but no, he had to be smart and throw them all at it in one go. 5 minutes later he's back on the phone..............I think you now how well it went.

I have a friend who is currently doing exactly the same thing :)
