The lancia stratos is a fun car to drive but with the tune on it, it will be your favourite car

Cheat and put racing slicks on then any car will handle.

But still its price tag is worth 512bb prob more

What a horrible exspensive car that cant handle at all

Or rather, what an expensive car which require a modicum of driving talent :)

Or rather, what an expensive car which reflects it's real life value rather accurately.

Im level 33 and the the lancia is horrible but i dont know bout the yellow bird

I can never understand a comment like this.

With a virtually infinite amount of set-up changes available, I always assume that if the car is not handling, that it is not set up to match my style.

My question to you is, have you spent any time testing? If so, did you follow any kind of procedure?

Yes i have from youtube and my lotus elise it is still spinning out and drifting when i turn the corner

He must be doing the TT event!

How do you test on youtube?

OK, that's you problem, you need to develop your own car set-up.

We all have different styles of driving, some more than others. Therefore the car set-up's you have seen are not just about the car, but more about the car / driver combination.

Also car set-up can take time and must be approached methodically.

Use the tuning section of these boards, find a base tune that suits your style and spend a few hours refining it. Only change one setting at a time, do some laps, see if your faster, if yes, keep the setting, if no, change it back, try something else.

Well you do know that MR and short wheel base leads to something reaaally tailhappy, like the Elise?

Besides, the Stratos also has some value to it.

The Lancia stratos is not for the racetrack. It is the street legal version of a purpose built rally car. It's true value is on dirt and snow!!!!

The Stratos is a fun car for it's time and it has more personality than most modern cars today.

throttle control.
dont jerk the wheel.

This car is amazing! Once you tune it. Go to the tuning forum and get a tune for it. I think Priano has a good tune for it. Or I cold PM you my own setup. Put one on and stop complaining.

Its not horrible... you just need to "adapt" to driving it. Not every car is going to handle like its one rails, and personally, thats what makes the Stratos a fun car, trying to keep it under control while still driving fast, lots of fun.

Which level you are is frankly irrelevant, since anyone can reach level 40 simply by racing over and over again (and being a lower level doesn't mean you can't drive either).
The Lancia Stratos is notoriously difficult to drive (both in GT5 and real life) with its extremely short wheelbase and mid-engined lay out.
It was purely designed to be a rallycar and the road version was only build in limited numbers for (rally) homologation reasons and therefor hardly compromised for regular road use.
Its value has nothing to do with how it handles either, if so, that would mean the more expensive cars in GT5 (or again in real life) would always handle better which ofcourse they don't always do.
You can change the handling by buying suspension/tyre upgrades, etc. and set it up in a way which reduces the tricky nature of this machine but stock it's always going to be a challenge (even with a different set up it still is I guess).
So yes boo! for being a Standard car (as I find it easier somehow getting to grips with challenging cars when in cockpit view) but not for the car itself.
A Ferrari-engined seventies Lancia rally car designed by Marcello Gandini which wants to kill you all the time, I mean what's not to like?
Now make it Premium so I can actually enjoy driving it.

So true, that's why I love it to death in rally stages! It was literally made for them! It accelerates and drifts soo well!!

Good looking car[IMO] & a legendary rally car with a short lived history.
At first, it wasn't the easiest car/rally car to handle, but with time it is a nice driving experience.

Let's just say it's a case of 'Car>driver' and end it there…

Im level 33 and the the lancia is horrible but i dont know bout the yellow bird

But he is level 33, so it must be the car.

I found leaving 10-20% throttle on helps keep it stable.

Car and Driver recently reviewed a reissue (one off) of the Lancia. One photo caption reads "The driver contemplates how many corners he can take before spinning."

But he is level 33, so it must be the car.

You know that level 33 only means, that he has done alot of a-spec events, which are so easy that even a one armed ape could do them?

The car doesn`t sucks, it just the driver who is to bad. Im lvl36 and I can`t drive with that beast too :)

It has nothing to do with the lvl, only with me being to bad for it.

To Tame a Stratos
Do 1 of these steps, or more if necessary:

1. Add ballast to front end until Weight Dist. is 50/50

2. Use Racing Soft tyres+GTAuto Wing

3. Use SFR

4.Browse around here once you have 250,000cr+cost of car*

*I say this because if you fully mod the car, estimated cost is about ~250,000 to 280,000 in tuning parts. It's more if the Aero parts cost alot.

I HATE YOU, but seriously how can you say that, put a racing exhaust on it and it sounds amazing as well!

He doesn't like the ~30/70 weight balance.

I found the same problem with the 67 Shelby, then I took more than 10 laps to figure it out and now I love driving it. Think about how the car feels on the road when you drive it and control the throttle. Good luck.
