And I've found one person who I got into an argument with it over it and it wasn't even in my review thread :dunce:

I know who you're talking about! It was so bad the mods had to step in

Yes yes, him. I was only meaning it as a little joke since I striked out tuner and put in terrible and he got all mad son (and part of it reached uMadson's sig as well  ) Also he said that they wouldn't tune an S2k Turbo because they 'don't do drift tunes'. :irked: It's not even a real life drift machine anyway, like the Blitz Skylines or the AEM S2k. But he kinda misunderstood so I went and corrected him in my joker way. :D

And he apologized anyway so meh. :)

Just install a wing and max out the downforce. That's all you need to control the rearend.

Everybody
What would you have if you had 200,000
1. Ferrari 512BB
2. Lancia Stratos
3. Ford GT
4. Cheap Japanese car to tune
5. Aston Martin DB9

Huh

Lancia Stratos because it has more personality than the Ferrari.

Lancia Stratos because it's better looking than the Ford GT.

Lancia Stratos because I already have a cheap JDM to tune.

Lancia Stratos because the Aston Martin is just porn on wheels.

Huh.

Seriously, just because you don't have enough driving skill doesn't mean the car is bad, it just means that you are bad. I'm tired of people saying a car is too oversteery because they can't control it. Driving cars is just like sex, all men think they're good at it.

+1 So true.

I agree that a lot cars being deemed crap or undriveable is just due to people using the same driving style they adopt for any car whilst different cars need a different approach and it's easy to blame a car for having a certain characteristic they didn't expect than perhaps looking for another cause, aka themselves.

Having said that, some cars can be too oversteery or handle like pigs, even for the more experienced driver, in short, some cars are crap (and some can provide fun for exactly this reason).
I once read a respected car journalist explain that any car can be driven smoothly by a good driver and therefor appear like a good handling car but only when driven badly a truly good car comes to the surface.

So I guess it's a combination of the above that some cars are not liked very much it appears.
People driving challenging handling cars badly whilst perhaps being ill-informed of what to expect prompts these kind of threads whilst those who are able to drive them can't see any problem as the tricky nature is the thing they enjoy.
Objectively establishing (if it's even possible) whether a car is good or bad depends mostly on which criteria you select, if we take the theory of that car journalist and the people who complain about the Stratos presumably caused by bad driving the Stratos perhaps isn't a very good car (apart from the purpose of winning rallies it was designed for), that isn't the same as not being enjoyable or at least managable for others.

Totally agree. That's why I find the Stratos enjoyable.

unvalid due to complete D-baggery and un-factual answer

BS The Stratos is waaaaayyyyyy underated and I think it deserves a bit more credit. It's good to use in the Gran turismo rally pro for snow( but not dirt or tarmac), and tuning using the power limiter can make it just as good for intermediate. It is also fun to use in multiplayer. Of course there are better rally cars, but since it is a prize car, it is good if you don't have enough for a better rally car in the dealership.

Bull is the stratos better looking than a ford GT

The stratos is 187,000 dollars and i bought it like half price and still exspensive unlike the ford GT just put a wing on it then keep adjusting the downforce and its perfect
(coughcoughbetterthanthestratoscoughcough)

The Ford GT is a modern day supercar designed for tarmac tracks. The Lancia Stratos is a 1970's rally car designed for rally tracks. They cannot be compared.

The real problem is the fleshy, organic bit controlling the car. You need to adapt to the Stratos, you can't just jump in and drive. You need to be a skilled driver to drive it, you need to know about driving techniques such as throttle control to be able to drive it. Unlike the Nissan Skyline, this car actually takes skill and patience to drive. Try reading/watching some guides on the internet demonstrating proper driving techniques and then keep practicing and eventually you should be able to control the legendary Stratos.

You probably won't even bother reading this post, since you seem determined to blame the car instead of the driver, so I've probably wasted ten minutes of my time typing this. I just hope that you will read this post, make the effort to improve your driving skills and be more respectful of the rally legend, the Lancia Stratos.

What, what ? It takes no skill to drive a Nissan Skyline (I think you mean the GT-R R35)
Armchair racer.

👍👍👍👍 and telling us your level in the game makes no difference, my younger cousin is at level 35, but is completely unable to take a corner any more complex than the Indianapolis track. Does that make the car he's driving the issue? Learn to drive it, if you think this car is hard work, I'd recommend you take drive in an old RUF, or a fully modified Caterham or G4. The stratos is a walk in the park compared to those. By the way, how old are you?

I'm talking about GT5, not real-life. In GT5, they are easy to drive. Can you honestly tell me that you've ever spun out while driving a (non-tuned)Skyline in GT5? I know I haven't ever spun a Skyline even when really tired.

I was posting up my opinion as you had posted up yours, yet you contradict me.

the lancia stratos is the ultimate challenge for the hardcore rally fan in my opinion... its where the car wants to kill the driver with a fiercer determination than a wall of trees closing in on you at 140mph. maybe the reason this person thinks it sucks is because he doesnt have a wheel?? honestly, im not a bad dirt driver by any means, but using my ds3 on the stratos stock and even with a better managed weight distribution is insanely difficult, even with the throttle and brake mapped to an analog stick!

history wise, the stratos is a legend, as much if not even more so than the group b cars of legend... and with good reason. at 300 hp, this car is less powerful than the 450 hp monsters of the 80s, yet somehow the damn car manages to be exponentially harder to drive and much more rewarding too. a lancia delta, ford rs200, and so on just dont match up. kid should try the group bs first before ripping on the stratos, get better with those and then attempt to use the stratos. they'll build respect for it by then.

Once you learn to tame the beast, the stratos is absolutely amazing, it is really quick in the corners and is even more godly in snow. It is the most fun to drive car in rallies!

The Lancia is an awesome rally car.
But you know what's a let down, the Ford RS200. I was hoping for PD to make it possible to make it ~600 HP, but it only has ~320 HP Max. After watching videos of the RS200 on youtube, I was excited to upgrade it, I was very disappointed. :(

For the record:

Lancia Stratos '73 > Historic Car Cup

Thought you Stratos bashers aughta know.

I HATE YOU, but seriously how can you say that, put a racing exhaust on it and it sounds amazing as well!
"RUMBLE. RUMBLE. RUMBLE."
-Lancia Stratos

Seriously the Stratos and other historic rally cars need to be made premiums. Some of them even share the same sounds! It's atrocious!

I said it sounds amazing not acurate, it definatly isn't the right sound but its pretty nice.

:odd: 420+ bhp in the road car and 530+ bhp in the rally car? Agreed, it's not 600+ bhp but it's certainly not 320 bhp either.
