3d trees!?
Errrrrr...sure. If it makes you happy.
@Stevisiov- Yes, but I was just referring to the situation which I presented. I already knew the result of the first one.

3d trees!?
it was a freak incident that's happened maybe twice.
Also, back on topic, the 908 has Michelin logos on the tyres, is this the first time in a GT game? I remember there were rumours of PD collecting detailed tyre data, and this might support that.
Off the top of my head, I can think of at least four occassions that it happened (3 times the Merc CLR, and the above Porsche 911 GT1).
But I agree with your overall point, it was down to bad design and lack of wind tunnel testing. I couldn't see it happening to a modern LMP.

What if a modern day LMP1 car got turned around at top speed? wouldn't all the areo parts suddenly start working in reverse, causing the car to flip up backwards into the air?
It happens in NASCAR, and they have half the downforce and weigh about 1250lbs more.
changing day night cycle would mean adjustable headlights too? driving La Sarthe at night with no headlights would be impossible....
Check out Stephane Ortelli's crash at Monza.
That was actually an LMP2 car, not an LMP1.
So let's be honest here. Who else on here fired up GT4 to take some laps around de la Sarthe after the 24 hour race was over?

About "wrong" top speed in GT5.
First of all - tyres.
Second - tuning, gear ratios.I really doubt that stock LMP Pugeot in GT5 tuned same way as real.
Third - weather,wind.

I agree that tyres might have an effect, but not the set up of the car. In real life at a track like Le Mans, surely the car would be geared for a high top speed for the very long straights, therefore at the peak of the car's performance. And I think there must have been a very strong wind in the demo, based on the slipstream we saw.
Personally iam more interested to see if they have the McLaren F1 correct.
