Did anyone notice the track selection screen, where it says the track is 'Premium'. Unless i completely got it wrong, this suggests to me that deformation physics could be applied to tracks as well as cars (i.e. damaged armco?)
Well you maybe right.
Another option I see is that Premium tracks (Nurburgring is another one) have the day/night cycle feature (so maybe a 24 hours race will be available).
It may also apply to weather changes.

Yeah I saw that too, no idea what that could be about, I really hope we get info on Tuesday.

So we all know that 'Peugeot Sport Total 908 HDI FAP' is already in GT5.

What about the other Peugeot 908 HDI FAPs?

Now all they need is the R15+ and it will be incredible. There was a PlayStation logo on the Audis, that mean something?

I think this lastest build is great, but anyway were is this PJ-FFL i haven't seen can you get us some proof

I thinks too many you wish.Even cockpit view is under question, not mentioning weather...

Cockpit view isn't in question. It only was in the beginning, but the "interior" view that is mentioned during conversations about "premium" cars is referring to the engine bay, etc, for the damage model.

Those are purely tweaks and new livery so I think you can expect them to be in ;)

Keep in mind the car in the demo didn't even have the right engine. The REAL 908 has a diesel engine, the one in the demo was a standard injection.

Well, Diesel fuel is injected as well :) . Where is it implied that the engine isn't correct?

Hey could the guy running this thread possibly compile everything on the first post? Otherwise you have to trawl through 40 pages of crap to find some info/pictures etc, or even a mod could do this, i find it a much better way of running threads, like the E3 thread etc with everything being at the front then the rest full of everyones opinions

top speeds not accurate on the straights?

http://www.racecar-engineering.com/news/opinion/368247/who-is-fast-and-who-is-not.html

Peugeot 908 HDI FAP 211.8 mph/340.86 kph

That is what disappointed me about the demo. Also, I didn't like the fact that the best time someone set - a 3:13 - is 6 seconds faster than what the Peugeots were doing in real life. I really hoped that they could get the performance as close as possible to the real thing. Seeing the 908 easily reaching 380kmh in slipstream is also a 👎

Sarthe does look sweet though :)

Other than sound, mainly the 7000 rpm redline.

Looks more like 6500 1/min to me. The sound may be off, but that hardly equals a 'wrong engine' (and a spark ignition engine has never been used in Le Mans 908's).

3:13 can be achieved, imho, only in standard mode. The video posted on the main page, https://www.gtplanet.net/first-gt5-le-mans-2010-demo-videos/, first one, doesn't have a true description. The guy says it was run on pro mode, but when you look at it close, when he is changing option, he is still in standard mode but with r3 tires.

As the guy who won said, for that lap he went through the baffles as he called them, am guessing the cones and kerbs etc, that would account for the difference in time. He said he had to do this as everyone was doing it.

Also the faster times were done by those cutting the chicanes. Here's a quote from the guy who has the fastest time:

Porsche72 -
We were forced to cut the baffles!
At first I did not want to cut, but if I want to win I was forced to because I have seen people cut more and more.

i hope PD will do something about that. It's a real shame, have such a great game, and the penalty for cutting track is non existent. But we can hope that this is only in demo version

Really? Any pics to show it?

Where did you see a Playstation logo on the Audi R15?

Not sure if this means anything whether a Playstation logo appears anywhere ( since Playstation is a big sponsor at Le Mans ) but I've only seen a Playstation logo on the helmets of the Audi drivers during Le Mans 2010 coverage, not on the cars.:)

Checking out better the videos, yes you're right. The redline is at 6500 rpm. The engine however is still able to go over 7000 rpm, which cannot be normally reached by diesel engines (especially FAP-equipped clean ones).

By the way, Audi R10 TDI and Peugeot 908 HDI FAP cars were shifting gears at about 4500 rpm during the 24h race.

The diesel engines in the race were illegal anyway, according to ACO rules there must be no visible exhaust emmisions, therefore the engines in the game are at least legal.

He said he had he same settings as Loeb did, and I'm pretty sure that would be professional mode. 3:13, even in standard mode is too fast in my opinion for someone's first go(?) at the demo. I bet sub 3'10 would have been possible after a bit of practice, even without cutting the chicanes.

If you watch the video, he didn't have professional setting (it was set on standard), or there is a big bug in the option menu

He clearly states that the video is made up of different attempts, the starting screen is not showing the settings for subsequent laps, if that makes sense!

The video is edited to show different parts of different attempts.

Also, I see that the in car footage has been deleted, interesting.

Yeah I was hoping for more realistic slipstream in the full game, hopefully we can set it to low like in GT4 and hopefully that lower setting is realistic. I still say the sparks are the only REAL disappointment though. At least you could argue that having strong slipstream is a semi-realistic form of a rubber band effect. The rest of the game looks great so far. Times in games are always faster than real life, but that 3'13 sounds like it had shortcuts according to everyone else.

Could have sworn that in the PS franse blog they said this build was "fresh of the press" so yeah latest build, get use to these sounds. :(

Well, it was mentioned that the build was done the night before. Whether that means it's one of the "nightly builds", or if it was a bespoke attempt purely for the LeMans Demonstration is yet to be learned.

The other thing is, that even if it is a nightly build, we don't know what "branch" of the codebase that build came from. It's fairly common practice to run several code branches - e.g. one fully stable, one with limited "features" (i.e. demo), one with latest updates (bugs and all), one with a certain prototype feature (and little else), one with another prototype feature et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

To me, it looks very similar to the Nürburgring demo a few weeks ago - I also noticed in the GT5rs video a collision bug (clipping between cars at the entry to Arnage) that was evident at TGS. My analysis is that this is far from the final build, even if some of the assets might be considered "final".

As for the sound, speed, etc. - I think it points more towards being a "rushed" job. I guess they've been very busy on the real thing. 👍

Cockpit view of Peugeot 908 HDI FAP in GT5. :)

If this is posted already, oh well.

Not the best screenshot quailty really.

I got it from the latest vid that Jorden posted up:

That rearview mirror on the top right of the screen seems wrong to me?
