I agree with extra points for 1st-3rd, and about your scoring idea in general. I think it should be based on how many racers we have as well. Everyone 9th and below will be fighting for that 8th spot which should make the races interesting.

First off let me say that was the most fun I've had online so far, even my wife was on the edge of her seat for some of the races. in regards to prior posts I would prefer a bigger point differential between places, love the idea of switching start order but first race should be hot lap. even though I don't use driving aids I'm not opposed to people using them if need be. I guess I would state the obvious that if you're in the top consistently then you don't need it. Personally I prefer moving the time up an hour since getting done at midnight is rough on me. As to the race car class I would like to see rotating groups of gt lm fgt etc from week to week. Definitely love rally class inclusion though specs should probably rotate from week to week. Maybe Monday rally Thursday race car would keep it timely. Again enjoyed thoroughly. Apologies to anyone I drifted into in my ferrari (AKIRA). And zonda I'm coming for you next time. No hard feelings though all friendly. Forgive any typos, phone posting. See you all Thursday.
 
I don't think anyone would have a problem with clearing the scoring, it was only one night anyway. Besides, a lot of the guys racing last night didn't have cars setup for each class, and ended up choosing a car from the recommended list.

I will move up the time 1hr. I'm kinda beat today too. Hopefully there are no objections?


Scores will be reset, Thursday's will be official.
 
8pm cst would work better than 9pm cst for me too.

I'm fine with resetting the scores as well. I like the points system now. First 8 drivers get points, and the rest do not. Maybe we can give the pole-sitter for the first race a 5-point bonus. Since we have agreed on reversing the grid based on previous race results, there will only be qualifying for the first race, and I think the 5-point bonus will be a nice incentive to get pole position.

This is a sample schedule designed to fit in well with adult life:

Week 1: Monday Jan 24th ---- 10 minutes qualifying
1 Class D Race
1 Class C Race
1 Class B Race
League Races done for the night, but we can still race for fun if there are enough drivers around. Having just 3 league races a night will ensure that people have the opportunity to get points on the board without having to stay for very long.

Week 1: Thursday Jan 27th ---- 10 minutes qualifying
1 Class A race
1 Super GT/JGTC race
1 DTM race

Week 2: Monday Jan 31st ---- 10 minutes qualifying
1 Rally race
1 Class D race
1 Class C race

...........and so on and so forth.
 
Zutalores created a group page for us, everyone should subscribe to it. We should also link this thread to the group page so everything is in one easy to find place.
 
The above schedule time and schedule scuudz recommended looks good. 8pm CST is the absolute earliest I'd be able to participate at. But you guys should run Thursday as a practice session also since I'd be missing it, lol.

I don't want to turn this into a race-car race right now; Here's what I suggest.
We stick with the 4 class race system (D-A) as-is, and meet to race twice a week.
We pick up the pace of the races (schedule below), and get through them quicker. Last night took longer than it needed to because of unranked races and people looking for cars (myself included).

For scoring we'll break up the league into two championships: Production and Race Car
Each will have a different leaderboard. I don't want to combine the two because everyone here signed up for “production” cars with specific regulations, not “race cars”.

Here's how the schedule will look:

Week 1: Thursday Jan 27th (ya we're starting the scoring over)

Akira's lounge Open @ 7:45 for practice / free run
Each race will have a 2min countdown at the end for score keeping.

1 Class D Race 'Grand Valley Speedway'
1 Class C Race 'Grand Valley Speedway'

5 min break

1 Class B Race 'Grand Valley Speedway'
1 Class A Race 'Grand Valley Speedway'

I estimate that the total time (not including free run) will be (Total 45min)

5 min break

At the end of this series we'll switch track and do race cars (optional; points not combined):
Optional Race 1: Super GT 'Nürburgring GP/F'
Optional Race 2: DTM 'Nürburgring GP/F'

*** End Race day (Total 1 Hour 10 Min)
If race car racing turns out to be more fun and competitive than we'll push it to the front in future races.




Week 2: Monday Jan 31st

As far as rally goes, I'm thinking that perhaps you or someone else here can host a “rally night”. I'm not even sure how this works in GT5 on line; but its quite different than normal racing so doing it separately makes scene to me.

We'll run all, per the schedule above, but you're welcome to sit out the ones you're not interested in. We'll have a "per class" winner and an overall winner (Class D-A).
 
I have joined the social page. This is very interesting to me. I would love to join, but not sure how often I would make it. I like the different classes of cars to use. I will definitely have to look in my garage for cars that fit into those specs.

Good practice session tonight, got some decent photos of our AClass practice race. By the way, ColdPredator you don't have to make all the races just the ones you want, we have a points system just to let everyone see how they are doing in relation to each other.
 
Hey guys, sorry I couldnt make practice last night. I watched the replay from our Class D race on Monday (the one where G4, slammedc and I were three cars wide coming down the straight). Clicked some nice pics while I was at it. I have hit 'Share with friends' on them all through the game. I'm not sure how to get them on here quickly. So, if anyone wants to access them and put them on here, please feel free to do so.

Go and subscribe to our social group it should be under Lay Z Boy Racing. You will find some interesting info. in there as well.
 
Hey all this is totally for me if there is still an opening, with the caveat that screaming kids might always interrupt, I am usually free after they go to bed at 7:30 Central.
I have played through GT3 and GT4, Driving Force Pro setup. No voice. Still matriculating through the GT5 hoops but I have most of the car classes covered, if not all.
