I know nothing has come to fruition and it's all rumors with Honda joining the WEC, but would that increase PD's chances at putting the ARX-06 in GT7/8 with it maybe being under the HRC banner and having its own dealership?
Well it could and it would probably push Kaz into it - if asked Honda would be more than willing and thats for all their race cars

Flip a coin :indiff: we still only have the (now outdated; thanks PD ) GR010 as a Hypercar, and in an era where there are, like, 10 of them, it's a damn shame PD is taking so long adding anything else.

I hope they add the wingless 9X8 tho :embarrassed: same class of wack car like the NISMO GT-R LM

I have a theory, tbf a lot of the community do have the same thought, but its that PD choose a category of cars and adds one of them every update for a few months, example CUVS, rn maybe GT3s (will confirm if next update we get another modern GT3) and maybe Hypercars could be next. O

Still waiting for this.

I'd rather have the ARX-06 be under Acura - rather than having HRC be its own brand - alongside stuff like the facelifted NSX Type S, the Integra Type S, and perhaps even the original Acura Integra Type R from the turn of the millennium, but that's another matter. If both Lexus and Toyota can potentially race against each other in Gr.3, I don't see why Acura and Honda can't both have a Gr.1 entry.

The problem is that both Honda and Acura would be running essentially the same Gr.3 car.

Perhaps, but maybe there could be some sort of Gr.3 version of the new Integra Type S instead. I'd still like the NSX Type S as a road car, though, if only because the 2nd-gen NSX seems more like an Acura than a Honda, and especially with the facelift that the Type S got.

EDIT: There's also the Acura NSX GT3 Evo22, which very well could be a bit more different than the Honda NSX Gr.3 we already have.

At this point Acura could be seperated having its own race cars kinda like they do aka Acura NSX GT3 Evo22/25 and Honda should get a newer race cars - modern Civic race cars or hell even fictional Prelude Gr.3

Yeah, especially between the Civic TCR for Gr.4 and the Civic Type R-GT '24 for Gr.2.

I get it, but imo, it makes sense to just put most of their motorsports into HRC, especially if the rumors of Honda joining the WEC come to fruition. Another thing is that if the GR GT/GT3 comes to GT7 (depending on how long Forza has it exclusive if any exclusivity), then that would potentially eliminate Toyota and Lexus and would likely merge them onto the GR brand, but who knows. I still wouldn't be against Acura as a whole to be included in GT7, especially with the ARX-06 (and maybe some of their older race cars like the ARX-02 and ARX-03), but we'll have to wait and see.

True but i am hoping for the Evo version that is much better looking imho
I would also prefer this one, but I am trying to temper my expectations. Same with gr3 lambo. Huracan Evo 2 is much more realistic even with road going STO in the same update than Temerario GT3 it is just too new.

I disagree on the basis that it was specifically developed by Honda's North American racing division, HPD. Now, technically, HPD was merged with the grander HRC racing arm of Honda (and renamed HRC North America), but, as the name implies, they still focus on their North American racing projects like off-road, Indycar, and IMSA.

I remember reading way back when (years ago at this point) that part of the reason Honda "merged" HPD with HRC was so that they could compete in WEC with the ARX. And until I see a Honda ARX (or HRX?) on a European race track, I still have my doubts whether the ARX will ever be branded as a "Honda."

I personally don't see it happening under an "official" banner; the rumors stipulate that it's a privateer (Inter Europool) that would be fielding these ARXes, not Honda themselves. So, if the ARX was added, I would expect it to be under Acura, and, as mentioned earlier, it would open the door to Acura's line of exclusive cars like the new Integra (and TLX, I guess, since Gran Turismo curiously featured the CL Type-S (in both '01 and '03 flavors, no less!)). Honda sells an NSX Type-S over in Japan, so that wouldn't be an issue. I don't think adding a brand is a problem for PD since they've done it for like, five manufacturers over GT7's lifespan already.

Besides, if the NISMO GT-R LM is under the Nissan badge and not the Nismo badge, I think that ship has sailed

I wonder why it is so difficult for Sony-Polyphony and Super GT-GTA (including the manufacturers involved) to reach a commercial agreement that would benefit everyone. Such a partnership could further expand the global visibility of Japanese culture and motorsport by bringing classic and modern GT300 and GT500 cars into the game.

I have a few ideas why it could be so problematic, but there is no official information. My guesses:
  • Kaz :D
  • GTA wants to much money (from sonys/pds pespective)
  • the manufacturers want to much money (like the pd and lotus situation)
  • the (gt500) manufacturers don't want anybody to reverse engineer their current cars/technology
  • the gt300 uses more and more european gt3 machinery (Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes AMG), these are already in gt7 (at least in some variation)
  • some of the gt300 cars are selfmade (I think it was a "fairlady z" in the 2023-25 seasons that a team built itself)
  • lack of interest (similar to lmgte, class-1 and gt1 post 2000 cars)

Yeah, I didn’t understand PD when they kept the Gr.4 variants in 4WD. Subaru and Mazda ran the models in the game as FF touring cars in real life. The Gr.4 GT-R and Huracan should have mimicked their GT3 brothers. Lancer could have been FF. Veyron switch to MR. The BoP could have been much easier to manage.

Actually the Gr.3 Lancer is the closest to a Brazilian Stock Car we have in the game.
I was inclined to think it was more akin to being a made-for-game GT300 racer, like the Subaru WRX Gr.3. That said, on the topic of Brazillian racers, I think the Stock Car Brazil version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross could make for a fantastic Gr.3 entry.

EDIT: Also, I was thinking a bit about Ford, and I don't doubt the idea that we could get their LMDh/LMH car as a Gr.1 entry some time after its introduction next year. Not to mention the obvious Mustang GT3, which I think is different enough from the current, made-for-game Mustang Gr.3 that it'd certainly be worth adding.
