It would be silly enough if they didn't jury rig a faux-CVT into it by using engines with different redlines (so the throttle is always on at least partially). That they did do that just pushes it over the top.
 
Red Victor 3 got Europe's first 6 second street car record this year, street eliminator is a bit quieter these days but you could count most in the class as mad specials :lol: There used to be a crazy blown Aston Martin Vantage, think there's an MG SV running in it too!
 
I suppose the Juke-R is also worthy of mention, though since they're producing a limited run of them it falls into the "mad special" category rather than the "one-off" one.
 
I think "Baby Bertha" the 500bhp, 5.0 V8 powered Vauxhall Firenza deserves a mention, a legend in the hands of Gerry Marshall:
