i understand what your saying but thats exactly it the only thing that would be promising is the cars as they'd have to rehaul the whole game it just makes no sense to me i know if i where kaz or PD i'd just improve the ps3 version... it just makes more sense unles they plan on making us wait another 3 years after the ps4 comes out cause we all know thats what will probably end up happening if it launches on the ps4...

one question though if PD started working on GT6 as soon as GT5 was launched it can't possibly be for the ps4 as they would not of had anything close to the ps4 software and hardware yet...so how can GT6 be on the ps4? i can only see it as a last chance shot to keep the ps3 alive... imo

When was it said that GT6 was being developed for the PS3?

How do you explain games being released at system launch. I'm sure a develop kit is already out.

60% of dev time for GT5 was on car modelling, Kaz said himself. It therefore means that most of the time for GT6 would also be modelling cars and they would not have needed a devkit to create PS4 level premium cars, they'd already been doing that for GT5 cars. Maybe back then Kaz really didn't know which console it would be on but whichever it was all they had to do was continue modelling premium cars, updating and building new tracks and start the basic planning of the game. That would all basically be something they could do aimed at either platform.

So yes, GT6 for PS4 can well have started development in 2010.

This is a quote from an interview with Kaz at Gamasutra:

"To make Gran Turismo 5, we threw away the legacy code from GT4 and started from scratch. It's been five years from [the release of] GT4, and that's the same amount of time it took to develop the first GT4. To create a game from scratch, that's the amount of time it takes to get it right."

(Purely in terms of initial retail release dates in Japan, there was slightly less than four years between the release of Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo 4.)

But the next game won't take as long, Kazunori acknowledged, as it can largely build on the team's existing work. "GT5 represents a whole new operating system," he noted, while "GT6 is just new apps that run on the GT5 system."

Sounds to me like GT6 is just a revved up version of GT5, not a reinvention of the wheel like GT5 was. Most of the work is already done. I can't imagine him saying this without already knowing if it's going to be a copy and paste onto PS4 if indeed it's a PS4 game and it would make huge marketing sense to have the prettiest driving sim around available at launch to show of the potential of the new system.

So is the first maintenance over? Did it change anything?

Sorry about that. :scared: I'm wondering if tomorrow will just be more maintenance, maybe we'll have to wait until the new NSX is complete..

13 posts deleted, now back to server maintenance.

Lol, what'd I miss?

Anyway, considering this is a two-part maintenance; do you think it's normal that there's been no hint of anything new after stage 1?

They just scanned hacked car's during first and blok those in second....
(Just idea)
No one realy can't know what they got on mind 👍

What possible good things could come from an maintenance that doesn`t cut down the connection from the players? Iam don`t know many things about computers or internet, but in every game i have played, even if there was a maintenance with no update, the servers go aways down :s

Or you could see... The guy with 162 posts is new here and perhaps new to GT5:roll eyes:.

Although this completely off topic... I have to ask you this question.

Is that your Red Nose in your avatar? I think I might have that dog's brother.

Yes.. We got her in a local dog pound about 5 years back ('08).👍 We are out west. But I have a Pontiac.:odd:

On topic: I think 2/14s maintenance will be the one with some changes? Of course thats just a guess.

Strange. I mean really strange. "Buddy" (our Red Nose) is about 5 years old and he is a rescue dog. If you say you live in Arizona and have a Torrent or a G6, I am going to fall out of my chair.

On topic - I do not know if anything is going to come out it other than a surprise update to "fix" a few issues.
