Nice to see I'm not the only one giving their server house a name. That sandstone walled beast is mine.(If I have any leftover sand from construction after I'm finished I'll leave it in the storeroom under the ravine steps. Have at it.)

It seems like the "failed SurvivalFly" issue occurs because of half blocks and other blocks that are lower height than normal.

Several people are having this issue. JaiAE86 solves it by breaking the block or getting killed.

What are your thoughts on this @DQuaN?

I've just updated the nocheat plugin. Let's see if that helps.

There's an apparent issue regarding movement.

Seemingly, upon dropping a layer, one will collide with the block in question and become suspended in the air, resulting in a kick. Also, upon moving there's an overwhelming sense that something is pulling me to the ground, preventing the ability to jump and stuttering my movement at intervals upon walking.

Strange.

Our lovely little community is coming along nicely. I need to really remember to put a lid on my tree farm (and either expand it or start using birch because it seems to grow relatively normally in this biome)
Stuttering when walking seems to be less of an issue if you're moving when blocking with a shield.

Started proof of concept stuff on the GTP Battledome of Kings (final name TBD)

All I've done so far are work on seamless doors to the battle arenas.

DOOMOTRON'S ANGRY REVIEW OF STAMPY'S SKY ISLAND CHALLENGE

The YouTuber Stampylonghead is a past favorite. I always waited until another video was uploaded. In the past, though, I have not been watching much of him. But one of his videos interested me. The Sky Island Challenge. I decided to try it to see how it was, but I was disappointed. It was badly designed with no real concern for the fact that it is almost impossible to get past the first challenge.

Now, look carefully at the design of the island. Look at the ice and lava. See how it is placed. See it? How in the world are you supposed to create a cobblestone generator from that? I know it is possible, but doing it like the famous YouTubers who took on the challenge would waste resources, when in the tutorial the builder said "Don't waste resources".

I am afraid that I will no longer try to do this challenge. The end.

I did report this thread a few hours ago sighting that it could have been put in the minecraft discussion thread.

Wait, is there a Minecraft Discussion Thread? You learn something new every day...

EDIT
I've created my own Sky Island Type Challenge, which is possible and is good. I'll upload some screenshots next week as I have just bought a capture card.

I've been playing on it a bit today, some of you may remember me from way back when Minecraft was still in beta. My username is RyanGB98 by the way!

I got a house built on the server today after about 5 deaths from skeletons, 3 from zombies, and 2 from creepers. (you know you haven't played in a while when...)

I've not played MC in ages but plan to pick it up again soon (I play vanilla survival mode), and was wondering what survival mode players think of some of the recent updates, particularly dual-wielding? I was watching a survival map video by ballisticsquid and the shield seemed to make it about 100% easier to deal with mobs, with seemingly nothing to offset this, except perhaps some of the newer, tougher mobs. Perhaps I will need to bump up the difficulty?

Regarding Stampy's survival map @Doomotron did you exhaust all possibilities? There's iron so you should be able to craft a bucket to move some water or lava? I agree Stampy is a bit of an oddball and his Jimmy Carr laugh gets old, but he's harmless enough, and I do find some of the more well-thought-out videos he and Squid put out to be quite entertaining sometimes.

To mine iron you need a stone pickaxe, and if it is impossible to make a cobblestone generator, how will I do it?

What happens if you dig a channel from the ice to the lava? I'm guessing the ice stays as ice...hmmm. Want to try this now, though have never used creative mode, so should be interesting. Or is there a seed I can put in? I guess I should watch the video too as I don't get "45 blocks high" from that snapshot =)

EDIT: Actually this is a perfect way to acquaint myself with the controls of the PS4 version!

Sooooooo, my brother recently got a Realm, so we've been playing vanilla survival on it for about a month or so. I just wanted to show you guys my houses that I've built.

Look what I made! :dopey:View attachment 151588

It's a Redstone adder/subtracter. It also has a random number generator.

I'm getting pretty good at this redstone thing. :D

AlrWeAN.png

Right now, it can only add/subtract as well as invert any input or any output, but I'm rapidly expanding it. As of this message, I'm halfway done with the multiplication functions/circuitry, and then I plan on using the extra output (seen in orange wool) to connect to a redstone lamp display, which will also be used for the rock, paper, scissors commands and components that I'll add after that. 👍

Because I can never get enough of redstone, I've made another thing...

I quoted my two older posts because what you see in the spoiler above is just an upgraded version of both. The new one can save outputs to separate memory and reuse them as inputs (to create a "loop" of sorts), as well as the addition/subtraction, and "random" number generation from the older ones. Also, my builds have only gotten more dense over the years. :P
